I did consider signing up for the Friendly Cup today, but decided against that and I would decline an invitation to a baseball tournament that doesn't help my WBC ranking, so I have moderated myself somewhat. I won't be signing up for anything other than major tournaments that would conflict with the Summer Olympics. I'm trying not to burn myself out, but I have the time right now to tell the story I want to tell about my NS nation and I have the time to move up the rankings for most of the major tournaments, so I'm trying to take advantage of it.

That kind of came out wrong. Yes, I lost interest toward the end, but that tournament started my IC rivalry with New Sideburn and allowed me to develop the character of a major underground organization, so I got alot out of it even if I didn't put my best RPing effort in. I don't think I had anything else to RP about at the end (other than basically repeating what I had said already) and there just wasn't much competition to motivate me. My near-complete lack of familiarity with the sport didn't help either, as I couldn't fall back on describing the action. I think that tournament would have worked better if it was single-elimination in the knockout rounds.

I like it, will play if invited, and cannot host. (I'm behind on IGCL duties and being subbed in for at the Calvinball Disregulation Treehouse.) This would be the world's first glimpse at the new Federal Team, after I hyperdeveloped the FBL. Hopefully it is after the BCCC so I have time to sort out the new team; that's the only point of contention or lobbying from my quarter.

Oh, also I would like if it had an internationalist, world-federalist or democracy-inspired name, but that is a very small matter for me. Our Maoists may simply have to pretend it is called something else

That would be some ways away as the next BCCC is in 28 days or so... And I haven't missed a deadline yet. I like the idea of a baseball tournament in between, but I say we could easily do it before the next BCCC (or even during the next BCCC). I don't think I could host either, I can't make it to the computer enough at the same time for a few consecutive days.

FSC, how about the Democratic People's Republic of (North) Free South Califas? In reference to an extremely internationalist and democratic country, of course.

Ah, well, don't let me slow things down, then. I can create a new roster before then. This is all somewhat presumptuous from me anyway. :ugeek:

We have some new members for the council to vote on. If any nation feels they should also be voted on and are not listed please feel free to speak up. First things first, though: Camwood, Cassadiagua, Cotdelapoms, Luziyca/Svyorji, and The Babbage Islands/Sportsgirls have been removed from the council due to inactivity stated in the Constitution. So current Council stands at:

Civil Citizenry
Darmen
Equestrian States
Free South Califas
Karditan
Ko-oren
Lycrabon
Maklohi Vai
Michael VII
Milchama
Qazox
Sakurakoku
Saugeais/Branta Island
Taeshan
Thrilledge
Western Cuba
Yesopalitha/Falconfar
Zwangzug

These nations are eligible to be admitted to the Council:

New Montreal States
Sicoutimont
Allinlia
Powersith
West Guiana
Birolika
Estope

Current WBC Council members: For each of the above nations, vote on whether or note you feel they should be admitted to the Council. Send this vote to my puppet, Branta Island. Voting will end at 10pm Central US Time, April 16.

Presidential Nominations

And now for the big one, the nominations for the presidency. Those who have been recently admitted to the Council are eligible to submit nominations, however they can not be nominated themselves. Please nominate the person you feel should be the President. Anyone who receives 2 nominations becomes a candidate, and will move to the next round to be voted on. If no one received the required number of nominations, then the current president will remain in office for the following World Baseball Classic, after which another nomination session will take place. This will continue until a nation/nations have been properly nominated and a vote can take place.

I'd like to ask the current Council to submit their nominations to my puppet, Branta Island, and you will have until 9pm CDT on Saturday, April 20th to nominate a council member.

Council members that are eligible to be nominated:
Darmen
Equestrian States
Free South Califas
Karditan
Ko-oren
Lycrabon
Maklohi Vai
Michael VII
Milchama
Qazox
Sakurakoku
Saugeais

Alright, it's time to vote for the presidency.

There were many council members with a nominating vote, but in the end only two nations prevailed with the required number of nominations, and those two are Saugeais and Western Cuba.

Since I am on the ballot, none of my nations can take votes in; it just wouldn't be fair. So I asked Zwangzug to be the vote-getter this time, and she supplied the use of Wrigleyville as the nation to send you votes to.

So it comes down to this, esteemed Council members, do you wish to vote for Saugeais or for Western Cuba to hold the title of WBC president?

Voting will take place over the next 72 hours, ending at 2pm CDT on April 24th, at which time Zwangzug will announce the final tally of the vote.

Here is the updated list of Council members, all of whom are eligible to vote in this election:
Civil Citizenry
Darmen
Equestrian States
Estope
Free South Califas
Karditan
Ko-oren
Lycrabon
Maklohi Vai
Michael VII
Milchama
New Montréal States
Qazox

Sicoutimont

Firstly, thank you to all who voted for me, and for having the confidence to continue doing my job presiding over the World Baseball Classic and Council.

Maklohi Vai wrote:Congrats to Saugeais! Not to pressure anyone, but when are we looking at WBC 26?

Secondly, I have set the time to be six weeks after the final match of the previous WBC, an average time frame I noticed when initially taking on the position of president and look over the procedures of signups. Going by that, signups for the next WBC should take place on or around May 3rd.
