I downloaded the iPhone app. This could do wonders for our RP. Or not, it still takes time. But this is easy to use and quite good without paying for upgrades.

The App works in tandem with the website quite well. TBI - does the iPhone app let you track Putouts and Assists? On the droid, you can only show who made the out. So a groundball to SS with the out at 1B shows a Putout by the SS on the website - it should be an Assist for the SS and a Putout for the 1B.

Also, the DH subbing system is really screwy and I have yet to figure out how to effectively make it work (the DH is based in the app as a Sub of the pitcher, take the pitcher out, the DH is thrown to the bottom of the lineup with the new pitcher).

The one issue with RP-ing this is for those nations who will BOTH use it. Who gets to determine whose GameChanger is used if we link the teams in the NationStates league?

The Keisler Cup is now done with the U-16's finishing today with the biggest rout in certainly the Keisler Cup, but possibly it would be in the WBC also.

In WBC15, fourteen teams qualified directly to the playoff while the fifteenth through eighteenth seeds had play-in games to see who would make it. These two series were not counted towards the overall rankings. What do people think about the first round of playoffs for this last tournament (where the top seeds had byes to the round of 16, but there were eight pairs of other teams facing off to get that far)? Should they be included?

The corresponding series in WBC15 were not counted towards the rankings, so any contributions to the effect of "yes, you should count the ones in WBC15" are completely unhelpful. That being said, do people want to repeat that, or give phantom wins to the automatic qualifiers?

I'd treat the eight automatic qualifiers as winning round-of-32 matches by 2-0 and rate everything. That's my $.02.

I would prefer giving phantom wins to the automatic qualifiers to a system denying credit to teams who won play-in matches or series.

Even though it's a play-in series, and thus, less prestigious than the standard Round of 16 matches would be, it's still a knockout round series.

It worked at WBC 15.. so why not at WBC 19?

Exactly, and I'll be honest with ya, if I thought this would lead to a discussion where these teams WOULD NOT get such points, I would have strongly considered another format. It was part of the tournament, it wasn't a "play-in" round.
