Maybe I should mention to some of the newer people that this a U-21 & U-16 (and maybe a U-13) tournament for baseball.

I'd be interested.

I'll pass, thanks.

Coincidentally, I happened to be browsing through (for unrelated reasons) some old posts of relevance. In WBC15, fourteen teams qualified directly to the playoff while the fifteenth through eighteenth seeds had play-in games to see who would make it. These two series were not counted towards the overall rankings. What do people think about the first round of playoffs for this last tournament (where the top seeds had byes to the round of 16, but there were eight pairs of other teams facing off to get that far)? Should they be included?

I would have to say yes to both. The maximum games played should take all games played into account as a nation participating in the "play-in" series could win the tournament.

There's something else we need to do, also! Vote for new Council Members!!

The following nations are now eligible to become part of the World Baseball Classic Council:

Bergnovinaia
Colmark
Civil Citizenry
Carasatoga
Sakurakoku
Western Cuba

Also, a return (he expressed he'd want to return earlier in this thread) for:
Qazox

If you are a member of the Council, please vote yes or no for each eligible member, via sending me a telegram by August 9th.

Agreed, plus give the nations that had the bye, 2 wins as if they also won games to get to the next round.

Actually....(check your TG)

EDIT: This got me thinking - would anyone be up for a "Rivalry" Cup? Just off the top of my head I could have 7 game series with:

Could we organize a Pool to make it work?

The idea sounds interesting, but I wouldn't be up for it if QoD is part of it.

I think the rules are you have to post a roster, and two other role plays.

The rule is a roster and at least ONE RP in each of the last two Classics.

Am I really eligible then if it is? Yes, I post a roster for everything I am in, but I only RP the stuff I am very interested in, and I really don't think I RPed this WBC. That's why I thought the only parameters were to post a roster in the previous two WBCs.

Carastoga, et al.

Again, the WBC Constitution for Council eligibility is quite clear, as TBI pointed out.

Two consecutive WBC Tournaments with
A Roster post
At least ONE RP post

If you did both then you are elgibile for the Council. The current council still has to vote on each nation and not a lot of eligible nations make it onto the Council.
