One thing I've been thinking about is the fact that we've mentioned xkoranate specifically when it comes to prospective hosts having some experience with using a scorinator.

I understand the general idea to be a requirement that you have a firm grasp on being able to generate results and have the aptitude to be able to communicate with participants. I also understand it to be a way to ensure that would-be hosts have a plan to generate results.

However, the wording suggests a need to use a specific scorinator. I'm not comfortable with that.

Should we perhaps modify it to say a scorinator such as xkoranate?

I’ve actually been writing my own scorinator as of late, that can produce lacrosse scores. Currently it is too predictable, and can only score 1 game at a time. I’ll give out copies to anyone that asks, although I haven’t written directions for it yet. It can work on mobile, but you need to run it inside a certain website that I can show you how to use. If anyone wants it, just contact me.

And yes, I agree with the wording change you propose.

I'm a bit confused...where do we have specifications for bidders in writing?
Edit: I saw it on second look at the signup thread. I don't see an issue with you editing the OP.

Although I do agree with the idea on its basic premise...while xkoranate is the most widely used scoring program here, it doesn't have to be the default mechanism.

Based on the feedback, I updated the OP.

We're not a big enough tournament yet to preclude people who don't have a wealth of experience as possible hosts, and I've seen well respected hosts start here. I'd love to see that continue.

There's obviously more to hosting than simply generating scores. A host has administrative responsibilities in addition to needing to make difficult decisions at times. They also need to be able to communicate with participants, and if necessary, the president whomever they are.

I'm glad to see something that can be considered a potential roadblock to a prospective host get removed.

I just wanted to put out there that my and Baker Park's term is scheduled to end with the conclusion of WLC 37. We're on the cusp of WLC 36, so we are still about halfway through the current term.

That being said, in accordance with Article II, Section 5 of the WLC Constitution, I'm announcing now that I will not seek re-election for President, as I believe that I am currently serving a second consecutive term.

I am staying on for the duration of my term as President, but I believe it's best for a different voice at the top beginning with the post-WLC 37 to pre-WLC 38 period.

You were nominated by me originally--in sincere confidence--and have led us through the adoption of the WLC Constitution. In addition to your substantial competitive achievements, you are providing leadership which will secure your place in WLC legend.
I'd rather wait until the next election cycle until we write your encomium.

Apologies for the brief delay last night. There was a little bit of an issue with a circuit breaker at my house that caused scores to be posted for the AOLC a little bit later than the 7 p.m. cutoff.

Things are slowly returning to some form of normalcy.

In any event, congratulations to Sylestone on winning the hosting bid and commiserations to Banija for falling one vote short.

Baker Park, thank you for the vote of confidence. I feel you're doing an excellent job as Vice President and I can't wait to see what the future holds for the WLC.

Because the WLC is starting on 13 January and because we had an unscheduled off day because of RL events, the original plan for a day off between the end of the group stage for AOLC 4 and the start of the knockout knockout round will be scrapped.

Tonight is the final group stage match. Sunday night will begin the knockout rounds. We'll get done by Tuesday, the day before the WLC.

It's not an ideal situation. I apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

Imagine my embarrassment by not getting my roster or an RP in for the first MD, and rushing along to complete the task, only to the find out I had a bye on the first day anyway. :oops:

The new scorinator doesn't generate tables, so that might be a clerical error if Sylestone is using it.
