Round of 16 matchups are set!

Remember that the Round of 16 won' be scorinated until Wednesday night around 11 EST.

And, of course, when you guys look at the standings, remember that Head to Head was a tiebreaker ahead of overall goal difference. That will explain the results in Group C, where Asiana finished behind Huri de Wintre despite having a better goal difference, even though their goal difference would've made them one of the top 4 third place teams, and Huri de Wintre did not finish in one of those spots. It was an interesting tidbit and I haven't seen a situation like that before.

Regardless, comiserations to all who didn't advance, and congrats to the 16 that are left! Let the games begin :D

Apparently, South Toronto have withdrawn from the tournament. So the NS guidelines on withdrawals must be followed.

Yeah but they posted a roster after that. I'd ask them to clarify, since they already played an entire group.

As South Toronto posted on the Everything thread and not the OOC thread doesn't their withdrawal mean its an invalid withdrawal.
When i was still getting used to the sports forum. I asked to withdraw only to treated rudely because i didn't do it on the occ thread but the everything thread.

I PMed him about the withdraw when it happened and asked him to change his mind. He did so over PM. I then asked him to post so in the IC thread, and then he posted a roster. So I figured that was good, since the roster was post withdraw.

I should've publicly clarified that situation, but I had gotten his personal assurance that he was back and then he also posted a roster. So (when even though my own handling of it left a lot to be desired) I believe S. Toronto is in a good spot(unless I seriously erred in NS guidelines for withdrawals).

Yeah, that's what it looked like. His withdrawal would have thrown the numbers off so it's great he stuck around.

Let me apologize for the late cutoff! I had stuff come up that prevented me from getting to the computer :(

I am glad people took advantage of it though :D

That said, I won't lie, I don't think I'm ever winning this tournament :(

A final with both nations controlled by the same user has mixed emotions.

Guaranteed to win? Of course! But guaranteed to lose too :P

Thanks for hosting a smooth tournament! Applause for all the RPers. St. Saratoga will probably earn a nice ranking boost. Maybe a few others too.

The Table of Champions has been updated, as has the overall Medal Count.

- For the first time since WLC 18 in Anditia, all three medalists are first-time medalists.
- Vangaziland/Wrexwic are the first master/puppet combination to both medal in a WLC
- By losing the 3rd place game, Cosumar missed a chance to take 1st in the all-time medal count

Thanks for another great edition everybody, and see you in WLC 29!

Is anyone else interested in bringing back International Domestic Lacrosse?

I know I have a league, but I'm not sure how others feel about it. I'd be up for running it.

I think it'd be a fun way to help grow the sport on the forum :D

Hello -
Is there a tentative date for the next WLC? The World Cup's starting and the WC discussion has indicates WC81 will follow soon after in a short period, included the gridirom championship is also supposedly starting soon, so Cos, any comments?
Irl, NLL playoffs are coming up soon so a lacrosse championship should be soon hopefully?

Yes, my tentative plan is to open sign-ups towards the end of World Cup Qualifying and hold the tournament pretty shortly thereafter, at the beginning of the between-WCs period.

With two entries up, international domestic lax is back!

Leagues take time, of course, and we want the IDLO to be close to MD1 of the WLCs.

Of course, right now we must estimate. I'll set a tentative cutoff for IDLO at 11:59 PM EDT on May 10th, though I reserve the right to push this back accordingly to accommodate scheduling for the WLCs.

A slight adjustment. The end of WLC signups will be the hard deadline. So we can finish this hearing into the WLCs. Whenever that may be.

Final site host bids are also much appreciated
