Cosumar ties Newmanistan and the Allamunnic States for the most WLC final losses at three, but also is now second in total medal count at 6. Cos has also placed five out of the last six editions which is second best out of Sarzonia's placing in seven out of nine editions.

Abanhflefts' second title in a row only joins Cosumar as the only other nation to successfully defend their title.

Ferret Civilization is the 33rd nation to medal at the WLC.

Look forward to the next sign-ups some time by mid March for the 24th WLC.

After the 24th World Lacrosse Championships, I will be stepping down from my de-facto position as head of the WLC, and will be leaving it to Associated Godlands(San Llera), as my overall interest in NS and NS sports has been for the past several month been little to zero.

When I first took over the position which over time has gone to anyone who wants it, the WLC was nearly dead, mainly because many long time NS sports veterans retired or took a break and interest overall faded. The 14th edition (my first as "head") was abandoned because no one bothered to even rp, and many editions there after also lacked much rping or quality rps. Ever since the 19th edition though interest int the WLC has started to grow and stabilize with thanks in part to a very special group who all are very excellent rpers in their own right and very involved in the NS sport community in their own ways and have continually brought something new to each edition.

My stepping down doesn't mean i'm leaving NS, just consider this a rest for me and don't be too surprised to see me put forth a bid for the silver edition (25th).

For the 2nd straight WLC as a top 5 team, Margaret gives me an early knockout.

Nothing I can do besides wait for the silver edition I guess.

Postby World Lacrosse Championships » Mon Apr 11, 2016 3:25 pm

Well here it is my last post as head of the World Lacrosse Championships and I must admit it is bitter sweet, and am quite sad that my tenure has come to an end after nearly three and a half years, but I know it is time for some one else to take the reigns and hopefully expand this mid-major to a bigger crowd outside of the Olympics.

On November 25, 2012 I was unsure if I could and didn't know if there would be any back-lash by experienced NS Sports Vets, but uneasy as I was I created the sign-up thread for the re-boot of the 14th edition(thus started this journey). I went better than I expected, then again the abandoned 14th edition hosted by Liventia, or as I call it anymore The Lost Edition, ended 6 months earlier.

Over the years I have brought up a few ideas of organizing this better(president, vice pres, ect), but have since come to understand that it works well the way it is, with one benevolent dictator ruling over all of you and only granting you any form of democracy once each edition :p . For those who have only been around for the past year or two, it would come to a shock that yes at least once I did do the rankings and started but never finished many more so thanks to the many who have "done the dirty work" while I lavished in the palace(yep we've got one, but you're not allowed in), only coming out to praise the winners and to drink the tears of the defeated.

Congrats to Mapletish on winning not only your first WLC title but also placing for the first time and according to recent history your chances of repeating are very high, and great job to Ko-Oren you came up short but came way placing for the first time too after all the editions that you've been in.

Cosumar joins Sarzonia and Taeshan with ending 3rd place two or more times(which all three have done so twice), and now has placed six out of the last seven editions and is now second in terms of overall medals at seven. At this pace the Dragonflies will become the most successful team in World lacrosse history by the 26th edition, with at least 9 total medals. However though Sarzonia still has a strangle hold on number of world titles with five.

And again this marks an end of an era, thank you all,

New West Guiana

My plan from the end of the last WLC was to open signups during the World Cup proper, but it appears that doing so would cause a clash with the Olympics. I know that many of the RP'ers for this great tournament also RP for the Olympics, and I don't want them running concurrently. Do you all think that it is a good idea to open signups in the next day, in several weeks as planned, or postponed so that the Olympics will have finished by the time this tournament begins?

(My two cents is that clashes will happen no matter what, but opening signups now would make sense, so not the whole tournament clashes with the Olympics)
