Yeah, same. And although I will admit that I haven't watched a lot of lacrosse, I most certainly cannot imagine any one team being able to score 121 points in a single game. Unless it's like one of those weird games in soccer where the other team doesn't like the calls and end up scoring a ton of own goals just to make a point.

It mudt be the effects of one certain Paul Rabil :P

And to Groups B and D: I taljed to Banija yesterday his schedule is off for some reason but I believe his group stages will be done today. As for Aban's ranking [either quarterfinals or round of 12] this all depends on who's the worst top team in the group stage and we need to see Ban-ban's scores so we can determine who fills out the Wild Card spots 0>0

True story: I actually interviewed Paul Rabil once after a Maryland-Hopkins game. He'd scored the game-winner in overtime and I asked him if they were trying to take advantage of a freshman goalie (Brian Phipps).

His response: "Absolutely not. He's a good goalie."

One of the guys from the student newspaper remembered that exchange even a couple of years later...

oy, I was caught out by thinking I had an extra day. LOL

Fair play though, Qasden re-established normal programming, and I have a good story to tell. I can even work another tangent on the Banija Civil War Epic Ring Cycle into the RP. And Qas and I can still be friendly since I'm not knocking him out of another WC competition! :p

Thanks to Sarzonia and Vangaziland for the shout outs in their RP. Much appreciated, as was their suggestions in the signup thread. I didn't even think I was going to do much RP in this tourney. I figured I'd be out of contention by day 2.

Good luck to the remaining sides. I guess I'll have to make a return appearance now. LOL It'll be well worth it. Cheers!

I had a lot of fun RPing this tournament.

One thing, though. A lot of the scores seem abnormally low with the scorinator. I'm not just saying that because I was held to one goal in a quarterfinal, but I saw a shutout (which normally NEVER happens in the real game) and one of the quarterfinals was 3-2.

That doesn't take away from the fun I had though. I'll do everything I can to make sure Cosumar doesn't catch up to me. :lol2: :p

Last year we won the JV championships 5-1 :0
I'm not sure how the scorinator went that low that never happens - perhaps perhaps it was my rp bonus since mine was different from Banija's inevitably 0>0

Lacrosse can be close. 3-2 is not an unrealistic score. When I played, we barely gave up more than 10 goals. The international level is different obviously, but that's credit to both defenses in that case. Shutouts are also not impossible, especially if there are differences in programs between high ranked and unranked. I would say 9-13 is more realistic than 24-17.

This part I agree with.

Vangaziland wrote:3-2 is not an unrealistic score.

Based on the levels I watch and most of the teams I see on a regular basis, 3-2 is typically a first quarter score and is unusual for a halftime score. It's almost never been a full time result.

You're a Maryland fan right? Every team is not like Maryland. Nor that region in general. There is also more parity in the WLC as composed to real life lacrosse leagues. So it's not the same as Maryland playing University of Buffalo. You're basing it too much on one sided leagues. There is also more parity than international lacrosse. Think of it as if there are 4 Canadas or Marylands and the other teams are on closer footing.

I personally have carried a long stick and helped hold teams under 5 or 6 goals and I wasn't even that good. The scores are not unrealistic.

Keep in mind Qasden just beat an unranked team by about 21 goals the match before. Nothing is wrong with the scorinator.

Thanks to the hosts for the tourney. There were delays sure, but I haven't stepped up to host a season. So it's appreciated still. Shout outs to the RPers. A few good stories came out of this season. I'm sure this season will help those programs into the future.

The Table of Champions has been updated, as has the overall Medal Count.

- Cosumar now has the most total WLC medals of any nation with 9, surpassing longtime leader Sarzonia, though Sarzonia still has the most championships with 5.
- West Guiana is the fifth nation to reach five WLC medals.
- Champions Wrexwic have reached the final in consecutive WLCs, the first to do so since Nassau-Hessen in WLC 25-26

Thanks for another great edition, everybody! Especially our dedicated hosts. Now you may all begin preparing your teams for the upcoming landmark 30th championships ;)
