NSCF 4 Signups
Welcome to the fourth edition of the longest-running collegiate american football league! NationStates College Football is becoming more and more popular, and if you’re looking for a league where you don’t have to spend your first four tournaments getting crushed by the traditional powers, then this is the perfect league for you. This is a very laid-back league that doesn’t require you to check your computer daily, as games are only twice a week. Also, if you’re looking for a place to groom your future World Bowl leaders, then this is the place to do it!

Conferences and Schedules
Teams will be evenly split a number conferences dependant on the number of signups. Conference hosts are yet to be finalised, but will likely include previous conference hosts. Once signups are closed, conference assignments will be announced, and conference hosts will announce their conference schedules. From there, all of the schedules will be posted in one post near the top of the RP thread. The format of regular season games will be double round robin, with every team playing all other teams in their conference both at home and on the road. The conferences will be arranged so that returning teams will retain their conference -- existing conferences are Horizon, Big Eight, Sequoia, Woodlands and Mineral -- and the regular season will not stretch beyond sixteen games (eight weeks IRL). Should the number of teams result in a short regular season under this format, it will be tweaked to create a longer season (for example, triple round-robin).

Postseason Format
Depending on the number of conferences, the playoff format may look a little different than it did last year. Regardless of the exact number of teams that qualify, it will be a single-elimination tournament, with no third place game. Higher seeds will have home team advantage throughout, and seeds will not be recalculated and re-drawn after each round.

Limit of Signups per Nation
Nations that actively participated in NSCF 3 (posted a roster and RP’d at least once) have the option to signup one or two teams. Any nations that did not meet those qualifications or any new nations to NSCF may only signup one team.

Scorination
Scorination will be done using the latest available release of Commerce Heights' xkoranate, with the SQIS formula (IFAF overtime) and "xkoranate style" modifiers (this may be subject to change). Games will be scorinated twice weekly, on Monday and Thursday nights. The times that scores are posted will vary due to the fact that there are multiple hosts, so keep in mind who is scorinating your conference when looking for your most recent results.

The latest rankings will be used in conjunction with a large RP bonus. There will be a maximum RP bonus of five points per matchday, with the maximum RP bonus at any given moment being ten points.

The target for signups is 32, or any other workable number above that (for example, NSCF 3 had 35 teams).

EDIT : Since we've hit 24 signups in a day... which is awesome, btw... and I'm pretty sure some "veteran" nations still haven't signed up, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say let's aim for 40. If we hit 40 and we're still getting a lot of interest, we'll go from there.

In light of the need to get things started soon, and a workable number having been reached ... signups are closed. If there is sufficient interest before the schedules are decided, this may be increased to 40.

Signups are open again to the first five teams to apply. Priority will be given to nations without a team in NSCF 4 already, and no guarantees can be made beyond the 40th signup.

Aleksandr Valentino rejected offers to become Head Coach of multiple MFL teams, notably, the West Frbiba Falcons and the Meshkete Musketeers. Rumours that he had been courted by the UArk Fighting Wyverns were dashed following a press conference at FSU to talk about Valentino's contract extension of 5 years. (Sorry Ark if you don't like this, I just thought it could be interesting! haha, and even though its not an RP thread, I feel the need to RP!)

Michael VII's second best University has also been added to the NSCF competition with great expectations to finally end their losing streak against their hated rivals Frbiba State University.

Joseph Marchild has chosen to continue with coaching the Jagoza Groundhogs, choosing not to opt-out of his 3 year contract which ends this year. Marchild had been offered coaching roles at Jagoza State University, where Marchild is an Alumnus. JSU hopes to lure Marchild out of the better school to their school for the start of their post-rebuild phase, hoping to qualify for a potential NSCF berth by NSCF8 and as early as NSCF6. Marchild seemed happy to go into talks with Jagoza State, but pundits suggest that Marchild won't leave to one of their minor rivals in JSU. Patrick Hailes left to return to Meshkete University for his 30th and final year of coaching where he began to coach for four seasons before starting with Jagoza.

Please return Frbiba State to the Woodlands Conference if possible, especially if that same conference has Utica, Arkinesia and Pennington. I would love to play these guys again! It doesn't matter where Jagoza plays, but if they can get in the Woodlands Conference too, that would be swell!
