Sorry, didn't realise you'd closed sign-ups. However, I would still love to participate, my rugby team are itching to play something after losing all our games in the Esportiva Union Cup!

No, no its fine you're in! Also you'll get chance to redeem yourself, I plan to open sign-ups for the second edition within the next fortnight!

PS Any ideas for names. The only decent one I came up with was just "Cup of 6."

Maybe, something like, Triimorian Rugby Invitational, RU6 (Rugby Union 6), or plain old 6 Nations. Just the thoughts from the top of my head.

Let's call it *SPONSOR* Challenge Cup

Because I recall the 6 nations was a tournament name already used by the top six nations in the world.

EDIT: Are we using the RUWC rankings? If not, then the Cyborg Holland Dragons will enter (Like Ireland Wolfhounds or England Saxons)

Yes, using a sponsor is a good idea. Although, I did rather like RU6 (no offence Cy :)). So *SPONSOR* RU6 or *SPONSOR* Challenge Cup. Yeah, you can use your "B" teams if you want.

The *SPONSOR* Challenge Cup is good.

We'll put forward Zackendel, a Cyborg Duth Beer company.

And so I take rankings won't be used, so I'll enter the Cyborg Holland Dragons

Yeah, go with Zackendel, its got a good ring. So the Zackendel Challenge Cup or the Zackendel RU6 are the two options. What does everyone else think?

Mark Ryanaigh sighed while going through the first thirty submissions to the World Cup. Darmen, Khabarovsk Krai, Thatius, … The only nations that crossed his sight who weren’t complete unknowns had vast experience and ditto rolls of honour. Which he, fairly honest, only knew from the extras added to the letter. Nonetheless, the sheer idea of facing these teams without any previous experience whatsoever made his knees weak. If the word n00b would be common around Bearded Moose, he would’ve certainly felt like one.

The regular Mark Ryanaigh would have sighed again, read through the documents once more and would have lived in fear and apathy till the first toss of the World Cup. But there and on that moment, sitting at his coffee table at two in the night, the same urge of responsibility came over him which he had felt while making the final selection. He couldn’t let his team go up for slaughter like that. [dramatic tone]The nation counted on him.[/dramatic tone] Well, not that much, but he should give his lads a fighting chance.
He had to find out how they played this game abroad. It was only two years ago when some Scork University students picked up rug-bee and our tactical advance was still in its baby shoes. More correctly, it just crawled out of the womb and was still crying over the medically justified spanking. They needed to get a game before the actual Cup.

Although Séamus didn’t really appreciate the late call (“Do you have any flipping idea what time it is?!” had been his substitute for the socially more renowned “Hi, Séamus speaking”), he got interested after a few minutes and a few more yawns and have Mark the permission to send out some telegrams.

Greetings fellow R7WC3-participant,

we, the Bearded Moose Rug-Bee Union, are looking forward to this magnificent event which will bring together our nations in an atmosphere of sportsmanship, friendship and respect. However, we will be arriving at the territory of the host nation a week in advance. Therefore, we would be interested in a friendly duel between our national team and your national pride. Respecting the customary rules, this match shall be played for an honorary trophy and of course to engage the relationship between our sporting unions. If any more experienced team would be interested in assigning us a referee, such gesture would be greatly appreciated.

Sincere greetings,
Mark Ryanaigh & Séamus Irwinaigh
Head Coach & President of the BMRBU

Place: Clam, Padraigh State, the Peoples Republic of Bearded Moose
Time: 3h34, 29th of the Savoymonth, 482 AM.

Mark sighed one more time –his most common communication expression- and pushed the sent button. Let’s hope, was all he could think of.

Greetings,
the Rugby VIIs World Cup will be my first RPing on Nationstates and I honestly have no experience whatsoever for this. And I'm not a native English speaker. But I'm motivated (huzzah).
Looking through the threads in search for the previous R7WCs, trying to find some landmarks, I stumbled upon this fine thread. "Rugby Friendlies", I spelled and after I found my glasses, I realised that this could be something that the Bearded Moose side could use.
Strangely thou, I discovered that most played friendlies here were without any RP. Did I miss the RP thread about this? Because, frankly honest, the only interest I have in having a friendly would be to do a little bit of RP (one or two posts back and forth)/scorination/concluding RP. Just to practise a bit on my writing and maybe even to try a bit of collaboration, not to have "a result".

So what am I looking for:
When? Between now and the start of the R7WC. I saw most keep 3 or 4 days between the setup of the tournament and the actual beginning and considering that the host hasn't been chosen yet, I think there's some time left.
Who? Anyone. Not sure if another new side would be best (could be fun, seeing the beloved idea of BaptismOfFire in football) or a more experienced one (so I can steal with my eyes, ofc). Someone who wants to RP a bit, frankly.
Where? IC maybe already at the WorldCup-location. Could be on the second field of a stadium or the hotel where our two teams stay. It would be friendly if an old fox would be able to scorinate. Thx in advance.
Format? Simple match. Maybe two, but no more (time is quite short)
