Season 13 finally begins and there's been a lot of activity to get things finally underway. As many of you should know by now, things have been a little troublesome in the land of the Han, so the fact that we're getting anything done is quite a marvelous achievement. And whereas I'd normally be inclined to add in a few tidbits about the League in general, I'm not feeling very well, so here's your wonderful Season Preview.

Last Season: Considering as this is the
first season since the Gyeimyo Calamity, you shouldn't be reading this section. Move on.

It's really a matter of time before they get themselves stamped on another cup, but for the past 8 years, it's been heartbreaks. You'd be a fool to expect anything else.
Last Season: Ditto. Move along.
Expectations: With a storied (though ancient) history, they'll hope for a top spot in the league. Otherwise, the heartbreak might be a bit too much to ask.

Despite this "poor" showing, Sanghae had been a perennially threatening club (minus the utter incompetence of Bong Junho), and Sanghae Yeonhap hopes to fulfill in some part this grand tradition.

a trophy to their collection of interesting cobwebs and evil dust bunnies (who conveniently sit next to the silver medal for that Emperor's Cup that wasn't).

History: Yeonseong FC began as NFL-founding members Hangyeong FC. After the virtual destruction of Hangyeong during the Gyeimyo (4720) Calamity, the city was abandoned as the capital and renamed as Yeonseong, recalling its status as the capital of the Yeon Kingdom (from a long time ago). Despite the sudden and drastic loss of club resources, history is enough to show that the club is in its own right very successful and renowned, having won 7 major trophies, and at a time looked to be the best internationally performing club (only because they were always playing internationally). But only time will tell if Yeonseong is able to replicate its historic successes.
Last Season: Last year, there was a crater at their stadium. This year, they've moved out and are now looking for a bigger and better-looking crater.

History: Yeiseong Yeonhap began as NFL-founding members Hanseong FC. While Hanseong was one of the city left unharmed in the Gyeimyo (4720) Calamity, the reshuffling of the government forced the new ministers to rename Hanseong as Yeiseong (from the "Han" city to the "Virtuous" City). As a result, the club owners decided to follow suit with their own name change. And with just one trophy in their cabinet, they'll be hoping that there's some luck going with that.

Last Season: Season 12 was such a great thing - why did it have to end?

Despite this, the club is willing to work with non-Buddhists; moreover, the club is sincerely eager to win more trophies in the pursuit of enlightenment.

Last Season: Taepung means "Typhoon"; we'll give you three guesses as to why they're called "Typhoon".
Expectations: To survive.
Majestic DivisionJonam Jigante 朝南支幹台 - 조남지간태
History: Some of you probably forgot that FC LG sold their club to some chap from the Candelarias to make up a new club Jonam Jigante; the only reason we know is because we forgot. And with a fresh club in the market, you can best that things will fly.
Last Season: Maybe they'll do something special and fly away home?
Expectations: Survive the new league and maybe make a name for themselves.
Goguryeo FC 高句麗 FC - 고구려 FC
History: Goguryeo FC, formerly Pyeongyang Gukjei, still owned by SLANI Tae-Mart, and not looking anywhere happy. They've got a roster filled with Taeshani people, and so it's going to be interesting to see just exactly how the fans react to this team (again).
Last Season: Carrots and Peas!
Expectations: To get some enthusiastic fans by perhaps winning some silverware.
Seobanya FC 西班牙 FC - 서반야 FC
History: Seobanya FC - now that riles up some harsh memories of the Spanish Empire way back in the 45th century, but to be fair, everyone from that era is now dead. And with that, some people feel obliged to honor their ancestry by creating a club in their name. Let's just hope that they don't go about making a Taegalog FC in the future...
Last Season: DNE
Expectations: Not to CTE
Seoan Eumyang 西安陰陽 - 서안음양
History: Does Seoan
really need another club? Apparently these people do, as they've created yet another ambitious creation - the
Eumyang… whatever that is supposed to be (Eum-yang is the Han Yin-Yang). And now that they've done it, they're going to want to revolutionize the face of the IFL. Not bloody likely.
Last Season: Come on, this is a new club? What do you need?
SEX?
Expectations: To be as balanced on the field as they are in name.
Gohan Toki 高汗土其 - 고한토기
History: Well %$#^ that, the
Turks made their own club now. And they're calling themselves "Gohan" too.
Last Season: They used to be a great snooker team.
Expectations: To be a great football team too.
Yonghae Seulaba 龍海瑟喇巴 - 용해슬라바
History: Yonghae Seulaba (i.e. Yonghae Slava) are made up of those random Russkie people living in Manju province (nevermind how they
got there in the first place), and they decided that they deserved their own team. Well bloody good for them.
Last Season: They used to be a great snorkeling team. Honest.
Expectations: To be better than the Turks.
Gohan Weonguk 高汗元國 - 고한원국
History: WTF? The non-Han-now-Han-once-more Weonguk Monggols want their
own club? Just because they join the Empire doesn't mean that they get to do whatever the blooming hell they'd like! And just to prove it, they'll have their little club, but they won't
win anything.
Last Season: They used to be a part of their own country before the Mujeongbu took it all away. Now… they're part of our country
.
Expectations: To be the best in our country.
Daejeon FC 大田 FC - 대전 FC
History: Daejeon FC - one of those clubs not to change their name - are a really SLANI club. And I'm not saying that they're owned by those Capitalizt SLANI - they're just horrible. And they
still want to be the best professional club around?
Last Season: Last time they were straddling that fine line between mediocrity and uber-mediocrity.
Expectations: To straddline some other line of mediocrity.
Hapbin FC 哈濱 FC - 합빈 FC
History: They used to be Manju FC - then Manju Province got reformed, and now they have to change their name (just like all of those other Provincial teams). The good news is that they can focus on being good for their respective city and hope that everyone else still likes them (not likely).
Last Season: SLANI
Expectations: To be better than SLANI.
Bokju FC 福州 FC - 복주 FC
History: They used to be Bokgeon - then Bokgeon got merged with Gangso to make some super province, but they still have to change their name. Now the "Lucky Region" is the "Lucky Land", but they're still in need of plenty more luck.
Last Season: %$#^
Expectations: To be better than %$#^.
Daebuk FC 臺北 FC - 대북 FC
History: The two Daeman clubs have not changed one bit. Except who's on the club and whatnot.
Last Season: They were better than Daenam.
Expectations: To stay better than Daenam.
Daenam FC 臺南 FC - 대남 FC
History: The two Daeman clubs have not changed one bit. Except who's on the club and whatnot.
Last Season: They were worse than Daebuk.
Expectations: To become better than Daebuk.
Namgyeong Songhan 南京宋漢 - 남경송한
History: We were going to form our own little club, but those Nethertopians decided to spoil the party and buy the club. And now they're forcing us to wear these
ugly green and orange jerseys (made in Nethertopia no doubt)! Is there no justice in the world? Ooh, money? Sure!
Last Season: They were once nothing; they are now more than just nothing.
Expectations: To become even more than nothing.
Muhan Yeonhap 武漢聯合 - 무한연합
History: Formerly Hogwang FC, the capital city has created a "United" club, and good for them. Because they'll need some sense of unity (if only in name) to get through the 2nd tier.
Last Season: They were once in the 3rd tier. Now they're in the 2nd tier by grace of whoever wrote these divisions.
Expectations: To stay in the 2nd tier. Hopefully. Maybe. Possibly. Probably not.
CD Sungsan 嵩山体育 - 숭산체육
History: Officially Clube Deportivo de Sungsan, they're the start-up Sports club of the Han Empire, essentially the descendant club of the original Academy club Shaolin FC (they still have that, tbh). And with the Shaolin monks going out to become
the dominant force in sports, it's virtually impossible to figure out their club tactics, especially as they all share pretty much the same names.
Last Season: Clube Deportivo? Are they
trying to turn Spanish?
Expectations: To be the best of the best of the best of the best, before they reach enlightenment.
Hayan Horangi - 하양 호랑이
History: Ousevale started up a "feeder" club sometime last season, buying up one of those jaebeol clubs (btw, jaebeol are prohibited from sponsoring any
one club, but they're entitled to equally sponsor them through the league
). And as a result, we really don't know what those crazy Krytenians will do. In the meantime, have some rib stew.
Last Season: Erm… yeah, you go ahead and write this section for me.
Expectations: To avoid become a white paper tiger.
Jangsa FC 長沙 FC - 장사 FC
History: Jangsa FC, one of those clubs not to change names, is still down in the dumps, but they've done better in the past. Nothing in their trophy cabinet to show it (they don't even have a cabinet).
Last Season: You shouldn't
want to look in here.
Expectations: To win something.
Seibu FC 世夫 FC - 세부 FC
History: Seibu FC - one of those clubs not to change their names (and why should they? they're some SLANI club off way on their other side of the Empire, stuck on their own metropolitan island with not even a tropical paradise to claim for themselves…) - has clearly seen better days. And to be fair, they won't see them anytime in the near future.
Last Season: Last time, they weren't in the second division.
Expectations: They'll want to

Daebo FC 大報 FC - 대보 FC
History: Daebo FC - another of those clubs not to change their name (and why should they? they're some SLANI club stuck on the bottom of the Empire, stuck on their tropical paradise island with but one major city to claim for some sense of civilization…) - has also seen better days. And to be fair, they'll probably do better than Seibu FC (they're regional rivals, y'know).
Last Season: They've had better days.
Expectations: To do one better than Seibu FC - whatever that might be.
Han Hawks FC 韓鷹FC - 한응FC
History: Han Hawks are a relatively new team; they had a line-up for Season 13 before the Calamity, but it seems that they all returned back to Somewhereistonia for a wonderful time there. Time will tell if the new incarnation is just as good as the old one.
Last Season: #N/A
Expectations: To get something on their last season sticker besides a fancy XLS error sign.
