New Palmouth will join, but will withdraw if the number of teams is cut down.

Given that World Baseball Classic 18 was the first Classic since World Baseball Classic 13 that was NOT won by an all-female team, they would certainly fit right in. ;)

OK - sounds good. Our girls will be ready

Of course, history suggests that all-girls teams more than hold their own - Newmanistan (4) an Cassadaigua (3, I think) are the premioer squads featuring all-female lineups.

It is now time for the World Baseball Classic Council to let their voices be heard.

Who should host WBC 19?
Newmanistan
or
Delaclava

If neither of these bids excite you, you can also VOTE to reopen the bidding process.
If you just cannot choose between them, for whatever reasons, you can also VOTE to officially abstain.

Only members of the World Baseball Classic Council (excluding myself and Delaclava) may vote for the host. If you're not sure you are a WBCC member, feel free to inquire in the discussion thread. If you do not know what the WBCC is, you are not a member. If you want to learn about the WBCC, the constitution is linked in the first post of the discussion thread.

Our neutral third party vote collector is Helio Versei. This is a puppet of Tarrentum.

The voting period will conclude on Sunday, the 19th at noon eastern. From there, Helio Versei will inform everyone who will be the host.

Sorry, just saw this. I'm aware that you've put forth this question/comment in several of my other tournaments, and I'm afraid I'm still not entirely certain what you're asking for when you make this request, as the question seems a tad vague to me. I'm certainly open to constructive suggestions on how to do this if you're still around (TG will be fine). It doesn't seem that you make this request of other hosts, but perhaps it's my own lack of understanding of the concept.

As for your second paragraph (which I snipped so I could more easily direct my main point), I completely agree, but I do hope you participate in the tournament.

What I think he's referring to (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) is that there's nothing with the game locations. Just my observation of the comment, Delaclava.

I dunno, I guess I was in quite the mood when I wrote that post. You're extremely efficient at using scorinators, posting timely results, seeking proxies if you reach the finals, all the OOC mechanics of hosting, and I didn't mean to imply otherwise; I guess it's just that, for all the tournaments you've hosted, I don't really have a sense of what Delaclava is as a country. That's ok if the group stages are home/away, but once the playoffs are reached it'd be nice to absorb a little local culture in roleplays. Maybe the fault is my own, though, for not being attentive enough.

Regardless, now I've run a new OOTP database, I'll change my signup from conditional to definite (assuming I'm not too late to be cut off) and compete whether Delaclava, Newmanistan, or RONtopia wins.

I agree with QuoD in a general sense. I do like seeing a Host Post or Host Bid that let's me get a sense of where I am in the nation and what my team could be doing during their off days.

While I've never really RP'ed to those situations, I don't feel that a lot of host nations brought that into their Host posts.

Alright, presently we have 62* signups. I could cut off 2 puppets to drop it to 60, but how about instead of doing that we first see if two peope can add puppets to make this 64, or if we have two new users that would like to join. (63 could work, but I want to push for 64 for more balanced groups)

*- This number assumes that Sarzonia, who listed his signup as conditional, will play.

Confirmed puppet
There's a breathless hush in the Close to-night
Ten to make and the match to win
A bumping pitch and a blinding light,
An hour to play, and the last man in.
And it's not for the sake of a ribboned coat.
Or the selfish hope of a season's fame,
But his captain's hand on his shoulder smote
"Play up! Play up! And play the game!"
