World Bowl XIV Roster Thread

Postby Sarzonia » Wed May 04, 2011 8:52 am

All World Bowl XIV competitors are invited and encouraged to post their rosters for the competition. They can be anything from a simple list of player names and positions to an elaborate breakdown of each player's strengths and weaknesses.

Each roster should also include a list of RP permissions and style modifiers. If it doesn't, a RPer can assume you mean yes to every possible permission. In addition, I will assume you want a modifier of 0.

The allowed range of style modifiers ranges from -5 (extremely defence-oriented and conservative on offence) to +5 (extremely offence-minded with nary an interest in defence).

Team Overview:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Offense:

Offensive Style: Flex

Despite still being a run-first team at its heart, the Regulars have become quite proficient in most other categories: passing both short and deep, the option, runs up the middle, to the outside, screens, and trick plays.

The rushing attack will be more heavily a run-by-committee approach. With the emergence of HB Myra Dercik and QB Zofya Hanriksun in WB13, and HB Ole Nurdsunn in WB12, the Regulars' backfield options have increased vastly, and with Daalhulm's versatility, virtually anyone is a credible rushing threat. That said, Haanryk Stahlburg is still the feature-back, being arguably the best running back playing in the world today.

That said, the passing game developed in the past year a marked amount, with Daalhulm blooming as a passer and Hanriksun's formerly mediocre-passing abilities taking a shine for the better. Mikel Dunn and Willy Theodore were always good targets, but Gaarutt Paakur, Erika Gaines, and Izaak Rolle's emergences last year has made the passing game that much more potent and flexible. Add the existing proficiency with screens and the presence of short targets among most, if not all of the running backs, and the passing attack is poised to become a potent weapon in the Regulars' quest for a world championship.

Defense:

Defensive Front/Style: Heavy Blitz, Flex; Multifront

For all its periodic lapses, the Allamunnic States still field one of the better defenses on a national team. That strength is only improving now that they have proven and replenished personnel sufficiently to go back to a proper flex-defense. Again, flex isn't an exageration; the Vols have been seen practicing everything, from the 2-5 to the 5-2.

For all that, though, 3-4 and 4-3 are still their main fronts, and will be the most common. But don't expect one over the other; they're plenty capable of going out of either one, with solid play-making abilities all over.

The secondary is showing signs of improvement from previous years, and generated more interceptions in WBXII than most can remember them doing for some time. That said, they do have the unfortunate tendency to give up big plays, which can be problematic, to put it mildly.

Rushing, on the other hand, is still pretty much suicide around these guys. They've only lapsed once or twice, and in all fairness, those were against Newmanistan and Cassadaigua (and the latter only slightly). Not many others can boast of much success on the ground, and that theme will likely continue.

Offensive Roster:
Offensive Coordinator: Leon Rodriksunn (Age: 42)

Backfield:

Quarterbacks

Coach: John McClelland (Age: 47)

1) Maarkus Daalhulm - #5 – Age: 31; 6’4”; 232lbs - Balanced – With the team's return from Bluth Corporation after the 13th World Bowl, training resumed shortly afterward. Just as soon, Coach Smart made sure that everyone was aware that the starting quarterback job was Daalhulm's to lose. Since then, his continued hard work, consistance and play-making knack have ensured that the spot has remained his. He is capable of running or passing the ball efficiently, although he tends to lack some of the dazzle and flash of more superstarish QB's. Workman-like though he is, opponents should remember that he's by far the longest-tenured QB that the Allamunnic national team has ever had, despite his frequent injuries. That said, he does get injured a lot, despite the good protection from the O-line; his tendency to dive for the line of scrimmage on no-show pass-attempts where nobody's open, and his tendency to wait for plays to develop means he holds onto the ball for a while, and will get hit-a-plenty.

#2) Zofya Hanriksun - #12 – Age: 23; 6’0”; 175lbs – Scrambler - Another weapon just found their place in the Regulars' arsenal: after a rather successful WB13 campaign and with Victor Dunbar's departure, Zofya has secured the back-up quarterback's spot and made the wildcat and option viable plays for the Regulars. With the added dimension to the game that she brings, along with her steadily improving throwing, Hanriksun has become a proper back-up quarterback who's capable of winning games in her own right.

3) Daene Maarks - #15 - Age: 22; Height: 6'3"; Weight: 230lbs - Pocket Passer - With Victor Dunbar's departure to the domestic league, Daene Maarks, a practice-squad player last year, sees himself promoted to third-string reserve on the world's 11th-ranked team. Maarks is, like Dunbar, an almost pure pocket-passing quarterback, without too much in the way of mobility. His arm's a strong one, though, and he does seem to possess a knack for good judgement.

4) Axel Kristiansen - #16; Age: 21; Height: 6'1"; Weight: 232lbs - Scrambler/Wildcat - with the emergence of Zofya Hanriksun as a major player in the team's offense, Kristiansen was promoted to the team proper to give her a proper back-up and understudy, with her injury now being a real risk. Kristiansen has an arm of similar strength to Hanriksun, but lacks her level of speed. He's not slow by any stretch of the imagination, though, and he's certainly a more solidly-built rushing quarterback who should be able to fulfill his job sufficiently if called upon.

Running Backs:

Coach: Willy Zimmermann (Age: 51)

Half Backs:

*1) Haanryk Stahlburg - #34 – Age: 31; 5’10”; 231lbs – Balanced – Stahlburg is among the best (if not, arguably, the best) running back in international play today. He's been on the team since World Bowl Nine, when he was part of a run-by-committee approach. Since then, he's been the Allamunnic National team's main running back, and has been exceedingly useful, being the team's leading scorer often enough. Stahlburg's running style is very heavy on the power; he's quite difficult to bring down, and tends to erupt through lines, and has been known to flatten defensive-backs, and occasionally linebackers. He's also possessed of a not-inconsiderable amount of speed, so he can break away when he needs to, although it's debateable if this is as much actual speed as it is simple momentum. It is worth note that Stahlburg is still playing quite well at an age when running backs from other countries are considered to be past-their-prime. In fact, the declines in stats that he has experienced in the last two competitions probably has more to do with the reduction in his number of carries (to help involve the other rushers) than any actual decline in his abilities, an idea corroborated by the overwhelming number of votes he recieved to the All-Star game in the last World Bowl.

*2) Ole Nurdsunn - #44 – Age: 24; 6’1”; 248lbs – Power – A running back as powerful as Nurdsunn is not normal. Given his tendency to flatten linebackers and punch through defensive four-fronts, there's not many outside of the stronger linebackers and defensive linemen who have a good chance of taking him down unassisted. That said, Ole's not overly fast, and lacks much in the way of break-away capability. At most, expect him to gain twenty yards on a really good run, unless he rips off a flattening-spree, in which case he might go longer simply because there's nobody large enough that is still upright to bring him down.

*3) Myra Dercik - #29 – Age: 24; 5’5”; 159lbs – Speed – Speaking of break-out performances, Dercik had a notable WB13 campaign herself, indicating she had the vision and smarts to pick good holes and running lanes, and the speed to take advantage of any room she got. Increased favoring of the run-by-committee approach saw Dercik get more carries in WB13 than ever before, and she did plenty with them, becoming a prominent rusher and a notable receiving option.

#4) Udun Gaardsunn - #35 - Age: 24; Height: 6'0"; Weight: 224lbs - Balanced - Gaardsunn came to the team to help lend some weight to the possibility of a run-by-committee approach to take some of the offensive load off of Stahlburg. Gaardsunn shares a relatively similar running style to the team's star, although he seems to be somewhat more finesse-geared than Stahlburg, if only because he lacks some of that power. Gaardsunn makes up for it by having a good head for the game and a not inconsiderable-amount of speed; even if he's a little less talented than one of the world's elite running backs, he's certainly a dangerous and useful player.

#5) Annaka Gunnarsunn - #21 - Age: 23; Height: 5'7"; Weight: 170lbs - Speed - Annaka, on the other hand, has a style much more similar to Dercik's speed-oriented style. Gunnarsunn doesn't seem to possess Dercik's blazing acceleration ability, but she's got similar instincts and similar overall speed that make her a capable replacement if Dercik should need to leave the game for some reason.

Fullbacks

*1) Dave Hendriks - #57 – Age: 29; 6’1”; 264lbs – Blocking – There's no illusions about Hendriks' ability to carry the ball or catch it; he's got hands like bricks. Luckily, he's build like a cinderblock, so he's quite useful as a lead-blocker, especially in critical short-yardage or conversion situations. That said, he's not called on often, and he's mostly kept around as insurance, of sorts, rather than because he's particularly crucial to the team's success.

#2) Willy O'Daniel - #41 – Age: 34; 6’2”; 259lbs - Possession/Short-Down - Willy fulfills a short-down rushing role, although as one of the team's oldest veteran players, his time on the squad may be drawing to a close. O'Daniel's job is sort of redundant, but he's kept around as a back-up should the need arise.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Receivers:
Coach: Zack Quinn (Age: 56)

Wide Receivers:

*1) Mikel Dunn - #4 – Age: 31; 6’4’’; 217lbs - Balanced – The team's most dynamic wide-receiver has not had a good year. Despite having solid numbers and making several plays to help the team make its way to the playoffs last year, Dunn found himself denying manslaughter charges in connection to a bar-fight months before the last World Bowl. Having successfully cleared his name (at least legally; there are some with their doubts, but they're a minority), Dunn has thrown himself into his training and returns as Maarkus Daalhulm's most dangerous target.

*2) Gaarutt Paakurr - #87 – Age: 34; 6’5”; 212lbs – Balanced – The former semi-pro proved himself to be more than a little useful as a safety-valve to take pressure and coverage off of Dunn and later Gaines, all the while handily making a mark of his own. Paakurr is similar to Dunn, if not quite his equal in terms of raw talent. That said, years of professional experience gives Paakurr an equally useful skill-set and expertise for the offense.

*3) Erika Gaines - #11 – Age: 27; 6’0”; 174lbs – Speed – Having saved her career with the national team with a stand-out campaign last year, Gaines returns as a #3 receiver and a proven weapon for the Regulars' offense. Gaines will rotate with the other wide receivers, or might occasionally play inside-receiver on slants and similar plays when her blazing speed is called for. Though she will drop some throws that other receivers might catch, it's generally not too egregious, and her ability to get open more than makes up for it.

*4) Izaak Rolle - #17 – Age: 21; 6’3”; 217lbs – Balanced - Izaak has the stigma of having failed to earn a college scholarship to play on the gridiron. Having instead gone straight to the national team based on scouting and analysis of his potential alone, Rolle has trained at a level that has impressed teammates and coaches, both in his work-ethic and in his skill. Rolle's still developing a little bit, so he's likely to make the occasional mistake, but those shouldn't be too much of a problem for the team.

*5) Devin Smith - #8 - Age: 21; 6'4"; 215lbs - Balanced - Smith is a player who managed to sneak his way into the playing-rotation without anyone in the press noticing. Smith's posessed of some amazing speed, some notable size, and good hands, making him a solid option for the team's quarterbacks and a reliable target. Smith's still a developing player fresh out of college, but all signs are saying that he has a bright future ahead of him.

*6) Rick Therris - #84 – Age: 30; 6’4”; 212lbs – Hands – Sometimes, you just need someone who will catch the damn ball. Therris fulfills this requirement beautifully, catching some throws that he probably shouldn't be able to, and showing a propensity for embarassing safeties by pulling off catches that they should have made. Rick's not overly fast, and he's not particularly difficult to cover, route-running-wise. That said, a well-placed ball in his directions can cause miracles, and he's not a bad third-down option for the team's QB's.

#7) Sarah Jennings - #83 – Age: 25; 6’2”; 164lbs – Speed - Jennings is another fast receiver with some slightly inconsistant catching ability, hence her reserve role. If she needs to be called on, there's other problems, and she'll probably either be useless in that case or she'll be quite up to the job.

#8) Grant O'Bryan - #82 - Age: 23; 6'3"; 219lbs - Balanced - O'Bryan is much like Jennings in terms of experience and the circumstances that will result in his playing this year. Given another couple of years to develop, he could be a useful weapon. Until then, he's a backup.

Tight-Ends and Inside Receivers

*1) Willy Theodore - #85 – Age: 29; 6’5”; 248lbs - Balanced – A receiving stalwart for the team, Theodore, somewhat counter-intuitively, is a notable deep-threat. He's way faster than a tight-end has any right to be, is plenty powerful, and has a marked catching ability (he has a propensity for ripping the ball out of would-be interceptor's hands), making him one of the best receiving options available to anyone under center for the Allamunnic team. Add the fact that he's a solid blocker, and you've got as good an inside-receiver/tight-end as there's ever been.

*2) Derrick Ford - #89 – Age: 26; 6’5”; 262lbs – Blocking – Ford is not a particularly good target. He's more blocking-oriented, and is first and foremost a tight-end, not an inside-receiver. Using him otherwise is folly. Ford's main strength is his strength and blocking abilities, so he's at his best contributing to the run-game by giving the backs a bit more breathing room.

#3) Walter Heep - #86 – Age: 27; 6’4”; 256lbs - Power/Possession - Heep is a package player for when the team wants to run, knows how they're going to run, and don't mind signalling loud and clear to all watching: it then tends to come as a nasty shock to opponents when he catches a short over-the-middle pass. Heep's a great check-down option who can get open quick (even if he can't stay that way for long on sustained efforts) and will catch most anything thrown in his direction.

#4) Zack Hall - #88 – Age: 26; 6’4”; 250lbs – Balanced - Hall resembles nothing so much as a slightly-less-talented Willy Theodore; Hall plays pretty much the same way, and acts more as an inside receiver than a classic tight-end. Hall will probably get some rotation time, but he's not about to become a major target or playmaker any time soon, in all liklihood.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Offensive Line:
Offensive Line Coach: Leon Rodriksunn (Age: 44)

For those who don’t know, Allamunnae pride themselves on the prowess of their linemen on both sides of the ball. At first glance, the Allamunnic linemen on offense don’t look all that impressive; solid, but not particularly noteworthy, which, size-wise, they really aren’t. But on the field, discipline, training, a high level of skill and form, and high strength, coupled with the inevitable stamina that comes with playing 80-minute games rather than 60-minute ones (often with hurry-up offenses being used), tends to give them an edge over their opponents. Expect very few sacks to be given up by this group, and expect some gaping holes to be ripped in defensive lines and linebacker corps. The lineup of the offensive line has not changed at all, though there were times of uncertainty at camp; that said, as heavily as the line rotates, it hardly matters.

Defensive Tackles

*1) Theodur Laansur - #95 – Age: 30; 6’8”; 368lbs - Balanced – Theo is probably one of the better defensive linemen playing at the moment, and it's not just because he's large. Laansur is physically a large enough man that his heft isn't indicative of speed problems or abnormal health problems: he's just really big. He's no speedster, but Laansur is quick enough on his feet that he's a menace to inside-rushers, and can put some hurt on any quarterback who underestimates him. While his main role is as a run-stopper, as a line-anchor in the 3-4, he'll find playing time in pretty much every front.

*2) Gaarutt Grahulm - #99 – Age: 24; 6’6”; 347lbs – Balanced – Grahulm is a balanced, multi-purpose inside-lineman. He's physically large enough and strong enough to clog the middle in a 3-4 front and cause issues for the running-game. But he's also rather quick, and can play as a pass-rushing, direct run-stuffing DT in four-fronts as well. His main problem is a lack of big-game experience, but he's got one of the best defensive linemen of the last twenty years as his coach and other experienced, talented players setting the example, so that shouldn't be much of a problem.

*3) Haanryk Faalks - #62 - Age: 22; 6'3"; 336lbs - Balanced - Faalks turned out to be a useful defensive tackle, and has been moved up to help replace the retiring Leon Thornburger. Faalks lacks experience, but has some good explosiveness and has a knack for clogging up the line, while also having a good nose for passers and ball-carriers. There might be a couple of teething issues, but Faalks should give good service on the team for some time to come.

*4) Danny Mallett - #94 – Age: 24; 6’5”; 338lbs – Balanced - Faalks' partner in crime is Danny Mallett, who is nothing if not a capable tackle. Similarly inexperienced to Faalks, Mallet has seen a little more action, but is much more of a run-stopper than Faalks, even if he's not too shabby against the pass either. Mallett will likely team up with Faalks out of a 4-3 set, leaving Grahulm to be Laansur's partner when they're in.

*5) Noah Carlsson - #91 - Age: 22; 6'6"; 367lbs - Run Stopper - Carlsson fulfills the role of a straight-up, line-clogging nose-tackle, and does it well. While Laansur might be the team's normal nose-tackle, Carlsson is a solid backup who can give Laansur a break, or can fill in in a pinch. Just don't expect him to run any marathons.

Defensive Ends

*1) Honorius Waalturs - #58 – Age: 27; 6’1”; 304lbs - Balanced – Waalturs is the marquee player on the defensive line for the team. Waalturs is very fast and strong, and tends to make most right tackles look like fools. As athletic as he is, it's no surprise that Waalturs is also very flexible, being usable as both a pass-rusher and an outside-run-stopper. He's posessed of an impressive work-ethic and is as civil and polite as they come on and off the field, which has a jarring dissonance with his tendency to slam people violently to the ground between the whistles.

*2) Archie Wagner - #98 – Age: 27; 6’2”; 305lbs - Balanced – A sharp contrast to his line-mate's quiet professionalism, Archie Wagner is an energetic, boistrous, and obviously intelligent player. Archie actually sometimes has too much energy; he won't sit still prior to a snap, instead shuffling and moving around to confuse offensive blocking schemes. He seems to be a rather smart player, or at least he has a strong grasp of psychology. Archie loves to get in O-linemen's grills, just to try to provoke them into stupid penalties, which seems to work rather well. Because he's not 'silent-but-deadly' like Waalturs, many people miss the fact that Wagner actually is almost as good.

*3) Dareus Bryant - #91 – Age: 26; 6’2”; 316lbs – Balanced – Bryant is a solid, all-around defensive end who can play the run or the pass solidly. He's still developing, so he's not getting a whole lot of playing time yet, but Bryant is talented, so he'll be a strong contributor once he starts living up to his potential.

*4) Zack Steele - DE#56* - Age: 22; 6'2"; 312lbs - Balanced - Steele, despite being rather inexperienced, has picked up a lot from his short stint with the practice squad; he's been deemed good enough for the big show now, and so he's been placed into the rotation on the defensive line, one of the better such units in the world. Steele is still a pass-rusher first and foremost, but his run-stopping abilities have improved vastly in the year since WB13.

*5) James O’Bannon - #68 – Age: 30; 6’3”; 309lbs - Pass Rusher – O'Bannon is a specialized pass-rusher. That's good, because the Allamunnae love to rush passers heavily, early, and often. O'Bannon's fast enough to apply almost instant pressure, and strong enough to exhaust even the best offensive linemen trying to block him.

*6) Erik Holmes - DE#97 – Age: 26; 6’1”; 306lbs – Balanced - Holmes, despite nominally being the sixth-string (or third-string, really) defensive end, is one of the rotating members of one of the world's elite defensive lines. Holmes' balanced skill-set and moderate amount of experience, as well as an increased sense of urgency and renewed work ethic from a year on the practice squad all make him a strong contributor on the line, even if statistically he won't be the most impressive.

Linebackers:
Coach: Greg McCoy (Age: 49)

Inside Linebackers

*1) Miles Ryan - #43 – Age: 29; 6’0”; 258lbs - Balanced – Miles Ryan is coming off of two breakout competitions, the first which firmly established him as a starter, and the second confirming that new place. Ryan is a jack-of-all trades, capable of blitzing, playing the run, or going into coverage effectively. He also seems to have a knack for making plays, so he'll probably continue to be prolific for the team's defense. He's also far from stupid, and he's effectively the defense's 'field general', skilled at recognizing fronts and tendencies, and then audibling new calls to compensate or take advantage of changing situations.

*2) Kyle McGregor - #47 – Age: 29; 6’1”; 252lbs - Run-Stopper/Coverage – McGregor is another jack-of-all-trades, much like Miles Ryan. that said, McGregor doesn't have the same play-making knack or sheer talent. He's effective, certainly, and far from untalented, and he fulfills a vital role for the defense. McGregor seems more effective in run-stopping and coverage, though, rather than blitzing.

*3) Daniel Greyson - #39 – Age: 30; 6’2”; 253lbs - Blitzer – Greyson, by contrast, is a very aggressive linebacker, who contributes heavily to blitzes and the pass-rush, when necessary. He lacks much in the way of skill in coverage, and is moderately good in run-stopping, but leaning heavily on him in either of those would probably be a mistake. That said, his blitzes are ferocious, fast, and tend to leave his intended targets sitting on the grass wondering what just hit them.

*4) Leo Udunsunn - #48 – Age: 26; 6’1”; 251lbs – Balanced – Udunsunn is still developing, but he shows signs that his gridiron intelligence isn't far off from Ryan's, even now in his relative inexperience. Udunsunn is solid in all the physical categories (he can stop the run, blitz, and cover), but it's that intelligence that is probably his greatest assett. Give him a few years, and he'll probably be a capable replacement for Ryan in most unpredictable situations.

#5) Zak Galloper - #41 - Age: 22; 6'2"; 264lbs - Blitz - Zak had some limited playing time last year, but he did some good things with what he got, hence his promotion. He probably will still serve mostly as a reserve linebacker, but as a reliable one.

#6) Carlos Santiago - #48 - Age: 24; 6'4"; 253lbs - Blitz - Carlos Is much better on his own in the middle of a 4-3 front. He isn't the same sort of field-general that the other two Mids are, but Santiago can fill the role in a pinch, if necessary.

#7) Pete Dunlap - #66 - Age: 22; 6'0"; 238lbs - Balanced - Dunlap was pretty much made to work alongside Galloper, and the two complement each other, as well as being comfortable playing together as they have since high school.

Outside Linebackers

*1) Alex McCann - #46 – Age: 29; 6’1”, 254lbs - Balanced - The McCann twins seem to have been working on their weaknesses, because they're together now some of the most versatile, and overall effective outside linebackers available. That said, they're both still the most dangerous to passers, as they excel in coverage, and are more than capable of breaking down routes and seriously derailing passing plays.

*2) John McCann - #32 – Age: 29; 6’1”; 251lbs - Balanced – The McCann twins seem to have been working on their weaknesses, because they're together now some of the most versatile, and overall effective outside linebackers available. That said, they're both still the most dangerous to passers, as they excel in coverage, and are more than capable of breaking down routes and seriously derailing passing plays.

*3) Danny Chessen - #42 – Age: 25; 6’2”; 251lbs – Balanced – Chessen is a flexible linebacker who can be called on in a pinch in most situations. However, due to inexperience, he does make some rather rookie-ish mistakes, which can sometimes prove costly. He's sometimes a little over-zealous on run stopping, and he's been flagged for unnecessary roughness or illegal hits a few times. He's quite a good tackler.

*4) Rodrik Hundsmun - #45 – Age: 28; 6’4”; 254lbs – Balanced – Nobody’s really sure why Hundsmun never found his way into the pro leagues, seeing as he’s got plenty of speed, plenty of strength, a love of hitting people, size, and natural linebacker’s instincts. The fact that he’s balanced as a run-stopper and a coverage man and a blitzer indicate good things for Hundsmun’s future.

#5) Sean Cooley - #54 - Age: 21; 6'2"; 248lbs - Coverage - While Cooley is first and foremost a reserve, he's most likely to be called in when passing situations are likely to be widespread.

#6) Pam Remmington - #31 - Age: 23; 5'10"; 204lbs - Balanced - Remmington is a little on the slower side of the linebackers; that said, she's a solid overall linebacker, if not at the skill level as the others, hence her reserve position.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defensive Backs:
Coach: Marissa DeMarke (Age: 46)

Cornerbacks

*1) Andrik Ierunmungur - #23 – Age: 29; 6’3”; 215lbs - Hands – Andrik is supremely useful in locking down on number-one recievers. If not necessarily great at fully shutting them down, Andrik compensates by being very good at forcing mistakes, and ensuring that their usefulness is severely limited. Andrik has a knack for interceptions and boxing receivers out of plays once he knows what he wants (say, an interception). At that to a tendency towards some spectacular catches, and you've got a dangerous cornerback.

*2) Julie Marshal - #19 – Age: 31; 6’0”; 188lbs – Balanced – Despite being only a year or two removed from a major position change (from safety to corner), Julie has thrived in her new position. If she's not quite the ball-hawk she was at safety, she's proven to be quite reliable in shutting down secondary recievers, and preventing them from being relevant in the passing game.

*3) Belle Marquette - #1 - Age: 22; 5'6"; 140lbs - Balanced - Belle found herself placed on the practice squad last year, only to get her chance after injuries began taking a toll on the secondary. Marquette turned in a few standout performances along with a number of solid ones to get herself a rotating spot with the other corners. Belle has roughly the same turnover-forcing potential that Andrik does, which means that throwing in her direction is pretty dangerous for opposing quarterbacks.

*4) Vitomir Danacek - #26; Age: 26; 6’2”; 221lbs – Balanced – Whether its making a hit, catching an interception, or simply keeping the coverage tight, Vitomir is a solid corner and is likely to get plenty of playing time in his own right. He lacks some of Andrik and Julie’s stamina, so he’s mostly a rotating player, for now, but he has the talent to potentially start in the future.

#5) Sheila Hunt - #6 – Age: 23; 5’7”; 168lbs – Speed – Based on her size, you wouldn’t think that Sheila Hunt would be a good corner. But most people who have seen her run and throw all of her 150-some pounds into a tackle have changed their minds quickly; she might not be the most physically imposing player, but she has boundless energy, plenty of aggression, and is blindingly fast.

#6) Ilana Franke - #11 - Age: 22; 5'10"; 156lbs - Hands - Ilana has a knack for making catches when offenses don't want her to; alas, her coverage skills leave something to be desired, which is why she's last on the depth chart.

Free Safeties

*1) Markus Josephus - #49 – Age: 28; 6’2”; 222lbs – Balanced – Markus stepped up as an unexpectedly-skilled jack-of-all-trades in the last World Bowl, and has since been moved to free safety to open up Julie Marshal as a corner. Josephus is a useful, versatile player who should see plenty of playing time.

*2) Mike Gage - #21 – Age: 25; 6’3”; 225lbs – Balanced – Gage is the backup free safety, mostly owing to his lack of experience; though Josephus is fairly new to the position, Gage lacks the starter’s natural fit at the position, and so he’s got a little work to do until he can have hopes of starting. Until then, he has the talent and ability, and sense, to do some rotating and support Josephus.

#3) Leona Nelson - #27 - Age: 22; 6'0"; 173lbs - Blitz - Nelson, if a little on the small side, is a tackler of almost unmatched ferocity. Her tendencies lean mostly towards blitzing, and woe to any running back or quarterback who's o-line discounts her.

Strong Safeties

*1) Elias Mourner - #10 – Age: 34; 6’2”; 228lbs – Balanced - It is entirely arguable that Mourner is one of the most under-rated safeties in the World Bowl. This is largely because he doesn't get the opportunity to make many plays because he's on a team with a bunch of other playmakers. Mourner excels at coverage, but work on the blitz has improved his contributions in that area, and he makes for a solid last-ditch tackler against a loose running-back.

*2) Ellen Phillips - #7 – Age: 30; 5’11”; 178lbs – Balanced – Ellen, though, is more balanced, also contributing on blitzes, at times, and doing so quite well. She's a good person to hand off coverage to if necessary, as well.

#3) Leif Coelmunn - #6 - Age: 22; 6'0"; 231lbs - Balanced - Leif is a lot more like Mourner in his balanced tendencies; he's a solid blitzer, cover-man, or spy, and is a good tackler.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Special Teams:

Kickers/Punters

1) Phillipa Demirici - #3 – Age: 37 – 5’9”; 172lbs - Placekicking – Phillipa is the only WB7 vet still on the team. She's a calm, collected, veteran kicker. Her long's not really spectacular, but it's pretty good at 61 yards. She'll reliably make kicks under 50 yards, being a little more hit-and-miss from 50-57 yards, and being about 50-50 beyond that to 60. After 60, with a good wind, who knows.

2) Scott Ayres - #2 – Age: 29; 5’11”; 196lbs - Punting – Almost as good as Phillipa; he's got a slightly better knack for punting, and he's not quite as good a place-kicker, but he's good enough to fill in when necessary. His long is 58 yards.

Longsnapper:

1) Graham Long - #19 - Age: 25; 5'11"; 263lbs - Place Kicking - He's a long-snapper. There's not a lot to say other than that he's a bit better while snapping for place-kicks like field goals or PAT's than he is for punts, but he's fine for both.

Punt Returners - I already gave you their descriptions, stupid.
1) Julie Marshal
*2) Andrik Ierunmungur

Kick Returners - Same here.
*1) Julie Marshal
*2) Andrik Ierunmungur
#3) Mikel Dunn

Uniforms: Image (thanks to Competitor's Choice Athletic Apparel)

After the offensive inconsistency at the Last World Bowl, leading to an 0-3-1 record against Allamunic States, and a 11-2 record against everyone else, Qazox has decided to bring back a blast from the past. That's right folks, the triple-option is back, as is the 5-2 defense!!!!

No one returns from the team of the past 2 World Bowls, so they might struggle at first, but no one runs the triple-option like the Sharks.

Please use my World Bowl 13 Roster for now and add 2 to the players year. Any "international debut" listed refers to a debut in World Bowl 13, not now. I will update it if I get a chance. With graduation on the 14th, exams this week and next week being about preparation and end of year parties, any RP from me will be limited in this tournament.

Margaret, I'll need you to take care of me. :p

The Colmark Bears, #20 in the world, return!

Image

Head Coach: Mike Tassel
Offensive Co-ordinator: Luke Thomas
Defensive Co-ordinator: Peter Harris

Roster:
QB: Peter Watson, Luke Chadwick
HB: Frank Hamilton, William Welch
FB: Oliver Hacket
TE: Chris Millen, Ian Peterson
WR: Freddie Oliverson, Andrew Mitchell, Steven Bradley, Jack Youngs, Vivian Keller
LT: Trevor Harris, Adam Peden
LG: Phillip Harris, Sam Bow
C: Will Patterson
RG: Mike Richardson
RT: Cameron Lucan, Sam Alban
RE: Harry Heath, Richard Scudamore
DT: Ollie Andrews, Sam Darby, Adam Redding
LE: Alex Muir, Callum Wilson
LOLB: Graham West, Derek Sanders
MLB: Sean Stevens, Mike Tobinson
ROLB: Ernest Mather
CB: Lionel Dickson, Brian Smith, Toby Heath
FS: Graham Buldron, David Hughes
SS: Alex Pearson
K: Alex Westaway
P: George Ianson

Offensive Style: Ball control, short yardage plays from the Running Backs or throws mainly on play action to the tight end. Good O-Line, but QB position is an issue, the only change from the last WB is that James Simons has been dropped and replaced by Luke Chadwick. Peter Watson will start and though a prickly, popular character is unlikely to be pulling out the big plays. Key Player: Frank Hamilton (HB) - Always capable of a big run, it is consistency that will be needed from him to keep the chains moving and the drive alive, before pulling out the big play late in the game.

Defensive Style: 4-3, rush the passer, put pressure on and force turnovers. Most plays are some sort of blitz, and Colmark incur more penalties than the average for roughing the passer. The aim is to put the QB out of his rythmn early, which aids the big play. Key Player - Sean Stevens (MLB) - probably the only truly world class player in the team, Stevens is capable of back breaking tackles, as well as good pass rushing and run stopping. When the big play is needed, he steps up

Stadium:
All Colmark's home matches will be played at the national stadium, Confederation Park, capacity 85,000, located in the heart of the capital of Fortnam.
Image
This will be the first time that Colmark has hosted international gridiron matches, the atmosphere will be loud but friendly, but some of the fans will be reasonably new to the game.

Nation: Buffalostan is a 'chronologically diverse' nation: geographically it resembles the contemporary USA, but because of a horrible accident in a temporal physics lab at Texicus University involving a stoned particle accelerator technician, a malfunctioning diode, and an overly lubricated squirrel, areas are cordoned off in different time bubbles. For example, Billadelphia exists in the 1920s era of Prohibitionism and evangelism, populated by wry journalists and cross burning nativists, while everyone in the late 1980s-ish New Spork University wears drainpipes, day-glo shoelaces, and really bad sunglasses.

While Buffalostanis in other cities are trying to invent the telephone, listening to iPods, or riding shuttles to Martian colonies, the residents of Karlsruhe live in 1972, and thus spend most of their time worrying about the fallout of the "Dixon Shock" economic regimes instituted by President Nick "Tricky" Dixon, currently running for reelection against controversial liberal Governor McGeorge, whether the Equality of Rights Amendment will lead to lesbians taking over the Department of Defence, and the disbanding of the Velvet Overground.

Team: The team (nickname: Bulbophylla) are best known for their outstanding linebackers and defensive backs. They reached the semifinal on their World Bowl debut, and last time also got to the playoffs. They do not believe in ghosts. They have had trouble finding a consistent quarterback and have had problems both sides of the line. They are strongly opposed to the present political climate, the military industrial complex, the war in Vietnam, and wrestling. They sometimes run a Wildcat type formation with Harris under centre. They like manga.
