OOC: Obviously all of these previous comments have been OOC.

Ok. One. QoD does actually have a point. I should have snipped the text, which I will do in momentary edit.

Two. Darmen, there is no need to be such a smarta$$. Using a spoiler with that bid post would not work because you can spoil something with spoilers in it. :palm: Believe me... I tried.

Edit: Everyone, let's just try to stay on topic and try our best to find the host(s) for the games of the VI Olympiad. I know I am not the only person who would greatly appreciate it if this show was to get on the road sometime in the next few weeks (i.e. bidding and signups).

This isn't a roleplaying thread, so OOC is assumed.

There's another potential bid so I'm holding out for that. I expect to open the voting by the end of this week.

So here is a question that I have. I see that the skill modifiers or whatever have to average out to .5, right? Now is that across each event, or the team as a whole?

For example.

Event A
-Person 1 - .9
-Person 2 - .4
-Person 3 - .2

Average =.5

Or would this be okay.

Event A
-Person 1 - .2
-Person 2 - .2
-Person 3 - .2

Event B
-Person 1 - .8
-Person 2 - .8
-Person 3 - .8

Overall the average would still be .5. But the average for event b would be .8, being offset by the lower average from event A. Is that acceptable?

Yes, that is acceptable. The .5 average must only be kept across the entire delegation.

The entire delegation can have a .5 average, across all events. That makes it possible for nations to concentrate their better players in events they like, while the poorer ones are elswhere. For example, the Bergnovinaian delegation will send all 1's to tennis, diving, and certain swimming and athletic events, while certain events like rowing and judo will have 0's. ;)

Well, hold your horses. We have to wait for a little bit until bid selection voting open, ends, and the host(s) get organized and open the signup bids. I'd personall expect a minimum of a about two weeks before a signup thread is up... and that's a conservative estimate. Really, it depends all on when the committee decides to end bid submission and open voting and when voting closes. That's what matters the most.

But patience, my lad. It will all come soon. ;)

I quote from a Bears Armed post in another thread:
Bears Armed wrote:Bears Armed is unfortunately unable to send any entries: Over here, we race pigs (more specifically, members of a breed that are called 'greyhogs') instead...

I can't be the only one thinking that pig-racing is exactly what we are looking for in an olympic sport...

(DISCLAIMER: This is not a serious suggestion, though I would advocate any such event and would enter it with as many porcine as I was allowed)

The Veep returns! No bid from me (the Winter Olympics turned me grey enough, thanks), and with the moving and getting myself straight, C&R's kind offer of a co-hosting bid is respectfully declined...this year.

Also, the six colours of the Olympic Estoile are representative of the six most common colours appearing on the flags of the thousands of NS nations (black/sable, white/argent, red/gules, blue/azure, yellow/or, green/vert). Trust me; I designed the original logo upon which the current one is based.

Hosting vote is now open.

Bergnovinaia and Carasatoga: sorry if you've already said this but I couldn't find it, but which one of you would become Olympic Council president in the event that you host the Games successfully?

It is put at the end of the post in bold. Upon successful hosting and completion of these games, the Carasatogan NOC shall send a person to fill the place of the Olympic president.
