That was the one Games of the II Olympiad, I had remebered correctly; The others i thought you had a competing bid.

Well, for those looking for information on the schedule and starting date, I'll start planning the schedule today and will have it ready tomorrow or the day after. The beginning of the Olympics is now set to the 16th of August, with an "opening ceremony" one day before.

Caf, can you clarify how RPs like Kernansquillec's most recent one will be considered? Will the fluff about the Weaker Sex World Cup and the DBC (imo totally unnecessary and just added for length) count? I hope not.

That one counts normally, since it also have Olympics-stuff, though the other competitions' talk add nothing to the rating.

I'm finishing the draw for team sports and will do the cutoff right after, so the draw will be up soon.

I would hope it counts normally; to do otherwise would penalise a writer for characteristics of personal style. People include RP unrelated to the events at hand all the time.

It is a mystery to me why anyone would think of sports coverage in what is obviously represented as a sports periodical to be in any way detrimental. It is clearly NOT "added for length."

In the words of a fellow NS Sport user, "the fact that it's reporting on two other, ongoing, sports competitions makes it totally there to fill space".

This isn't so much a "characteristic of personal style" — it's more "this could gain me extra RP bonus even when it's about another unrelated sporting competition with its own RP thread which I've never used, so I might as well chuck this in!"
