You'd have to ask the respective agents of those players (i.e. TG the owners) to get an affirmative response.

Queer Poco el Mono Ara's "talismanic" striker, Ishmael Van Dyke is now a free agent. He holds the record of being the country's most expensive footballing export when he moved to Nethertopian side NAPPC, is the national team's top goal scorer with a tally of... umm... something in the three figure mark, I've not kept track of that and as C&M mentioned, he does have a wiki page (found here http://nswiki.net/index.php?title=Ishmael_Van_Dyke)

He is looking to join another club sharpish, he's 34 at the minute and will be 35 after the World Cup final, suggesting he has mebbe 2 seasons left in him. He's ideally looking for a club playing in the Globe Cup on a short contract (2 seasons...), but isn't being too picky because of his age.

So... yeah, if you're interested drop me a TG.

Norrion Rovers are interested in acquiring him, as they have participated in the two recent Globe Cups with relative success, but have a need of bolstering their attack.

Current runaway leaders of Cotdelapoms' Série B Tout-Puissant Outremont are hoping to dominate the top flight when they get there next season. Their savvy record industry magnate owner is also hoping to sell boatloads of shirts and make the club the most popular Cotdelapomais club internationally. As a result, they are on the lookout for ageing foreign stars who would like to make a big payday in a small, developing league.

Outremont is a small, hip, city with an excellent nightlife and some good shopping, but brutal winters. The team has a lot of money and will help the players get acclimated. Please TG me if you have any players interested in coming!

-The team is currently discussing a contract offer with free agent Poconese defender Karim Zaki!
-The team has signed Napoliroma Legion Left Winger Victor Flavius Kulli from Tarrentum. Here is his (now out of date) bio:

Victor Flavius Kulli; West Hughton, Napoliroma Legion (LW, LM) – Kulli, nicknamed “Praetor” for his experience and leadership, was the first player acquired by Burindi in the Transfer Market once the Legion began TPFL play. His career before that was mostly spent with the Krozuy Academics. Praetor has been a great asset to the Legion as he is the main contributor to Jusef Zastromanami’s goals during TPFL play. It will be interesting to see how he contributes to the World Cup squad without Zastro demanding the ball every time an attack commences. Kulli recently announced upon his admission to the National Squad that this will be his last World Cup Age: 39, Goals: 3, Assists: 14

Right, I've lost track of who's where in the Liga Calania.

If you have any players currently playing for clubs in Starblaydia, Jesselton, or Krytenia, please TG my puppet The Almighty Vuvuzela with details (i.e. name, age at WC52 finals, position, club).

Thanks.

Okey doke!

Lylia Foresters express interest in Højgaard, Løvenkrands, and Sivebæk, as investments while the new Sorthern manager rebuilds the team.

The Distillery are sounding out Krøldrup and Høegh, again, as promising youngsters.

Hanover Town have watched Nørregaard and have been impressed with his form and hope to give him the opportunity to further his talent.

Sauchiehall Rovers consider Albrechtsen to be a solid player in the future, given continued development and training.

Tout-Puissant Outremont's spending spree has inspired the rest of the clubs in Cotdelapoms' Série A to look abroad to make impact signings. The league is obviously not of the highest quality yet, but it's trying to earn a reputation as a place for ageing superstars to come collect a final, large, paycheque. Any players looking for that opportunity should TG me and we will find them a home in Cotdelapoms. We can always use strikers and attacking full-backs!

We are also seeking to send our first few apples away from the tree so to speak. MF Gaetan Lachance has been sold to Fort Mare, and GK Yannick Latendresse has been sent to Trothwands Evolution, both of Osarius. 23 year old National team Forward Per-Olivier Johansson-Bakvis has decided he would love to take his talents abroad to try to raise the level of his own game and also the level of appreciation for Cotdelapomais football. Here is his write-up from the World Cup rosters thread:

21- ST- Per-Olivier Johansson-Bakvis (Étoile Rouge)- On the team almost solely because he's well liked by all the other players. Scores too few goals for a striker, but they're nearly all beauties, which along with his congeniality has raised his status with the media.

He would be perfect for a small club looking for some attention, he will be a fan favourite wherever he goes.

Ajax Carloburgo, recently promoted to the Valladar Super League and current Valladar B-League champions are interested in bringing Johansson-Bakvis to Valladares. This young team is looking for avoiding relegation and their Board think this player will be the perfect for them. Ajax plans to offer the player a 2-year, $25,000 a-week deal, with renewal option. Please let us know the player's decision as soon as possible.

Johansson-Bakvis gleefully accepts the offer, and has issued this statement to the press.

"Playing in the Super Ligue Valladar has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I want to thank the supporters of Étoile Rouge and the city of Îles-d'Elisabeth for all their support, all the laughs, all the scarves, all the bottles of wine and all the requests to cut my hair for charity. I will never forget you all, but the offer from Ajax Carloburgo is too exciting to pass up. I'll make sure to get my picture taken with a lot of alligators and send it back to you guys!"

Do any Valladar, especially Franco-Valladar players have any interest in coming here?

Zlatko Zedafski, the man who placed fifth for the Golden Boot award in the final season of the Kagdaz league before the merger, is leaving Kagdazka and Pazhujebu. His current club, Angels, have just finished a miserable season in which Zedafski never found his best form (only scoring twice), and they appear eager to replace him. The 31-year-old will be sold at the price of $210,000 to Étoile Rouge of Cotdelapoms where he will receive a salary of $30,000 a week.

Better know a Cotdelapomais Série A club! The first of a 12 part series.

Étoile Rouge
City: Îles-d'Elisabeth
Stadium: Stade Arnaud Livre
Manager: Huw Cross
Best season: Champions 1987, 1988.
Last season: 8th place, 39 points.

Current squad, best X11 in bold:
1-GK Grégory Desjardins
2-LCB Maxime Laforestier
3-CB Mahmoud Al-Rashid

4-CB Junior
5-DMF Jérémy Berthiaume
6-CMF Rhys Jones
8-LMF Alexandre Cormier
9-F Mauricio Gatti
10-AMF Alex Colorado
11-F Zlatko Zedafski (Kagdazka and Pazhujebu)

12-CMF Carlo Vicenzi
13-RB Antoine Baptiste
15-RMF Gary Brightman
17-F Alejandro Mendes
18-LB Axel Villemarie
19-AMF Serge Lambert
22-RMF Jean-François Lapierre (C)
28-RCB Augustin Gagné

30-GK Brian Oliver
33-CB Ousmane Yakhoub
44-GK Nicolas Painchaud
99-CMF Yves Morrissey

In the beginning of the Cotdelapomais national league in 1987, Étoile Rouge were actually a powerhouse club, led by Franck Rose and Aaron Lapointe. The club won with a beautiful, free flowing style that led their fanbase to expect this sort of beautiful success from that point forward. As a result, they are often very harsh on the squad, as they now frequently succeed at one end, but not the other- occasionally performing well but not attractive enough, or playing very attractive football and finishing 8th, as they currently tend to do. Their fanbase is also polarised by their rivalry with fellow east coasters Maritime, who they consider too stuffy, although many fans consider a rivalry with Maritime, a traditionally unfashionable squad to be beneath them. Ironically, Maritime have begun performing better than Étoile Rouge, which has started to turn a little bit of the fans' ire away from their own squad and towards them.

Étoile Rouge recently sold popular, but often spacey striker Per-Olivier Johansson-Bakvis to Ajax Carloburgo in Valladares. The money from his departure led them to bring in Kagdazkan hitman Zlatko Zedafski, who has a more proven track record of goal scoring. Fans and observers are very interested to see how well he links up with Alex Colorado, who is the general focal point of their attack. Colorado is the only player on the squad who is a regular with the national team, and will likely now be called upon to be the focus of the marketing. Other important players to the club are 20 year old whiz-kid Serge Lambert, who has a tremendous scoring record in limited action, frequently being used as a substitution in the 60th minute. Lambert may become unsettled if he doesn't get more time, especially after seeing friend, rival and u-21 teammate Gaëtan Lachance move abroad.

The captain of the team is hard-working, no-nonsense midfielder J-F Lapierre, whose crosses are among the better in the league. Centre-back Junior is 6'9 and a late-game weapon to be brought in to defend leads or try to attack with his height. The club has also become somewhat of a goalkeeping factory, raising national teamer Maxime Lucas before sending him off to Cosmopolitan, and now with Greg Desjardins, who has developed a reputation as one of the steadiest keepers in the league. The team just graduated 17 year old academy keeper Nic Painchaud, who is allegedly quite skilled.

Before the next season manager Huw Cross would love to acquire a new right back who can work in a 3-man backfield. Augustin Gagné is mistake prone, and Cross has little faith in Antoine Baptiste. Cross also would like a few more naturally wide players- despite using 5 midfielders, they tend to crowd around the centre too much- Lapierre is a good player, but he tends to cut inside if he's not about to deliver a cross, and Alexandre Cormier generally has the workrate but not the pace for the left side and could be moved to an interior position, likely at the expense of Berthiaume or Jones. Cross doesn't have a lot of money to spend, and likely will look domestically, but any offers from foreign squads will be listened to. A big money offer for one of his players would also likely sway him to splash out some cash, Cross knows he's not in a position to turn down money.

An OOC question:

The rejistanian league system is vaguely binary tree like where every node is one league with 16 teams. Ie: the root node is the H1SR, below that are the two divisasi of the H2SR (jya and kisut), below the H2SR jya are 2 H3SR divisasi (jya nahsua and jya nahtaj) as are below the H2SR kisut. In theory, this structure goes down quite a bit, but I never could be arsed to create anything below H3SR. What is the best way to set up a cup (DFB-Pokal-like probably since I want the low-league teams occasionally eliminating current H1SR champions :) ) in such a system?

Similarly to Rejis, I've had some trouble creating a reasonable cup; I'd prefer a knockout-only cup, and like higher leagues coming in later rounds, but I've found myself stumped by the complexity of it, to be honest. My league system can be found here. Aid would be much appreciated.

Two ways I can see.

1) The 64 H3SR teams take part in Round 1. The 32 winners are joined by the 32 H2SR teams in R2. The 32 winners progress to R3, and the 16 R3 winners are joined by the H1SR teams in R4.

2) The 64 H3SR teams take part in Round 1. The 32 winners progress to R2, and the 16 winners of that are joined by the 48 H1SR and H2SR teams in R3.

If you want the occasional upset then I think ideally you'd want the smallest gap in rounds between the lowest ranked team entering and the current #1 team entering, so Krytenia's second suggestion is probably the best one, imo... its about as close to the english FA cup structure as you can get with your league structure.

for the weegies, i got a structure for upto level 5 or 6, but you would have to seperate teams based on factors other than division, which might be a bad thing, depending on how you operate the cup or how you want to RP it.

anyway, I had it as:

R1 - 48 tier 6 teams
R2 - 24 winners + 48 tier 4 & 5 teams
R3 - 36 winners + 36 tier 2 & 3 teams
R4 - 36 winners + 12 tier 1 teams (less the top 8, for example)
R5 - 24 winners + 8 remaining tier 1 teams
R6 onwards is a straight knockout.

you can easily just remove the first round and go upto tier 5 only.
or if you wanted to expand to include tier 7, just add two "qualifying rounds" in before R1 (to make the numbers work, i use "filler" teams) to look like:

Q1 - 84 tier 7 teams + 12 fillers
Q2 - 48 winners + 48 tier 6 teams
R1 - 48 winners
..then same as above

this is probably overly-complex, and there is probably a better way, but i kinda like having filler teams. from an RP standpoint, they can be awesome (even though they are usually all eliminated quickly), because if one of them makes it to the later rounds, it can be given a random name and RP'd as the "plucky part-timers" or something like that. then that random teenager you generated for the league runners up last year can actually be a former player from that team etc etc.

Cheers, that's not bad at all. I was trying to make it work without fillers, but eh, what's life without a little variety?
