Following a serious blackout over Maxxmas it was decided to play a shortened season as a quick Cup, with the regional amateur and minor league winners playing with the KHL teams in a fast Play-Off round.
After figuring out that the organization of this was more stressfull than a normal league system, instead an even more exhausting season was played, with not so surprising winners.
Timesteam got their national title back from the multinational MLHI, Scorpion City Scorpions and Crazy Cowards filling up the other HCL places.

Vilitan Hockey Championship :: 19

After finishing Runners-Up in the 23rd Hockey Champions League and then winning the 18th Vilitan Hockey Championships, it was no surprise that Yeaddin HC were among the favorites to win Hockey Champions League 24. Yeaddin would top Group C with their only blemish being an exciting 5-5 draw with the Vaharia Rangers. They would have a difficult Ruond of 16 draw, however, squaring up against Olympique Langlois of Kelssek, a team motivated by the prospect of advancing to the Hockey Champions League Final in their home city. While Yeaddin HC would comfortably take the first leg 6-2, Olympique Langlois would fight back and make for a nervy finish, at one point tying the fixture up at 6-6 until Yeaddin HC scored a critical goal early in the third period. Olympique Langlois pulled the goalkeeper with 2 minutes to play despite leading 4-1 in the game, knowing they needed another goal to send the two-legged matchup to Overtime. Instead, it was Yeaddin who found the empty net to make it 2-4 on the night but 8-6 overall, progressing through to the Quarter Finals.

Yeaddins progression never looked in doubt against the Upper Township Unicorns though there was an even more impressive feat on tap as each of the four Quarter Final matchups featured a team from the Vilitan Hockey League and all four, thanks to a late winner by the Arcticala Icetricity over Vanorian club Therathor Majestics, would advance to the Semi-Final. With a Vilitan Hockey League Club guaranteed to life the Hockey Champions League Trophy, the only question left was whether Yeaddin HC could outlast their league rivals one more time. A 7-04 two-legged victory over the Icetricity would set up a Hockey Champions League Final matchup at Aréna Olympique in Langlois between Yeaddin HC and the Obaobai Bombers who took down defending Hockey Champions League winners Lopinka Lynx in the Semi-Final.

Both teams scored early in the first period then settled in for the long haul, with no goals coming in the 2nd period. The tie was broken just over 6 minutes into the third period when the Bombers took their first lead of the game then attempted to hold on for dear life as the Yeaddin HC attack just kept coming. As Yeaddin pressed forward and considered pulling the goalkeeper late on, a mistake in the back set the Bombers free and the breakaway goal sealed the deal as the Obaobai Bombers would defeat Yeaddin HC 3-1 to claim the 24th Hockey Champions League title. The win would make the Obaobai Bombers the first Vilitan club to win the Hockey Champions League despite having never won the Vilitan Hockey Championship and mark the second consecutive Hockey Champions League final defeat for the Yeaddin HC.

Despite the defeat in the Hockey Champions League, however, Yeaddin HC would still get one more chance for international club competition glory. As host city for the Semi-Final and Final rounds of the first ever Atlantian Oceania Ice Hockey Clubs Event (AOICE), Yeaddin would once again enter a competition among the favorites to come out on top. After advancing through the Quarter Finals, the Semi-Final would see a rematch of both the most recent Vilitan Hockey Championship and the most recent Hockey Champions League Final between Yeaddin HC and the Obaobai Bombers. With the teams having split at 1 Title a piece, the AOICE Semi-Final would potentially determine who the most championist of champion clubs from Vilita on the cycle really was. This time it would be Yeaddin HC re-claiming their position as top Vilitan club in a 3-2 result that would send them through to the Final in Yeaddin's now-famous outdoor venue, the Kolósaio Vóreios Yeaddin Olympique. Though choppy at times, the Ice ended up favoring Yeaddin HC who defeated the Jutland Whalers of Cordia 3-2 in overtime to claim the first AOICE in front of all their loyal Yeaddinite supporters.

The Vilitan Hockey League's 19th Season would see Expansion for the first time since Season 7 as two new teams were added to increase the league size to 16 teams. While many traditionalists were opposed to the move which broke the "Lucky" 14 team size of the league, the expansion would see a second team added in Turori, the Lpaka Alpacas, and a new team on mainland Vilita with the addition of the Lonngeylin Jawz making Lonngeylin the first city to attempt hosting two major Ice Hockey clubs.

There was much excitement in Turori when the Lpaka Alpacas managed a heroic defensive display in their first ever game against the Morata Valley Fog, earning their first ever point in a 0-0 tie game. However, 10 games into the season and that was the only accomplishment of note for the expansion side. Things weren't much better for the Jawz who were single-handedly keeping the other 7 clubs in the Western Conference on positive Goals Differential also having just one point in ten games and having conceded an average of 4.3 goals per game.

The Jawz would start turning things around with their first victory coming against the Seraai Icetronauts on Day 11 of competition then getting a first ever signature victory against the Lonngeylin Storm Surge on Day 13 to firmly establish the Cross-Town Rivalry. Despite the victories, the Jawz defense record was just horrendous as they marched toward a Vilitan Hockey League record number of goals conceded. Over in the East, the Lpaka Alpacas were handling themselves better on the scoresheet but remained win-less after 25 games of competition. Though they had many close chances - six ties including three in their previous six games, the Alpacas entered the final 3 game stretch of the season desperate not to end with a goose-egg in the win column. A 1-4 defeat to the Lopinka Lynx had bigger implications on the playoff seeding as they moved 3 points clear of the Obaobai Bombers in the race for the last playoff spot, but meant Lpaka had just two games left to claim a victory. On the penultimate day of competition, the Alpacas played the Bombers with the chance to eliminate the defending Hockey Champions League winners from playoff contention if they could secure their first ever victory. The Alpacas actually led the game 3-1 at the 2nd intermission but the Bombers came roaring back in the third period to take a crucial 4-3 victory that allowed them to pull within a point of the Lopinka Lynx who were defeated but runaway leaders Yeaddin HC.

The Final matchday of the regular season was filled with drama in both conferences. Over in the West, the Vilisorma Yutzies and Arcticala Icetricity squared off in a winner-take-all matchup to decide the final spot in the playoffs from their conference. The Yutzies came in with a two-point lead and the two clubs were tied on Goal Differential. The Yutzies, backed heavily by Energy Drink maker Vilaye were treating the game like a playoff matchup but would ultimately be defeated 2-1 as Arcticala would advance to the playoffs instead leaving the Yutzies one goal short. The Lonngeylin Storm Surge would also miss out by just one point, left to rue the two points dropped to expansion club Lonngeylin Jawz who ended the season with just 2 victories and a Vilitan hockey record 114 Goals Conceded.

In the East it was assured that one of the two most recent winners of the Hockey Champions League would fail to advance to the Vilitan Hockey Playoffs and in stunning fashion the Obaobai Bombers would come from behind to take down the Lynx and sneak into the last playoff spot. Elsewhere, still searching for their first ever victory, the Lpaka Alpacas would have to host defending Vilitan Hockey and AOICE Champions Yeaddin HC. Even the second string Yeaddin HC lineup had little difficulty with the Alpacas demonstrating that Turorian Ice Hockey was still a long way from being competitive as Yeaddin would hit the seasons highest scoring mark with a 9-3 victory over the Alpacas.

A Summary of the results of the most recent Vilita & Turori Domestic Hockey Competition is included below:

Conference 'Wild Card' Playoffs:

Seraai Icestronauts 2–1 Arcticala Icetricity
Arcticala Icetricity 5–4 Seraai Icestronauts
Seraai Icestronauts 0–1 Arcticala Icetricity

Turoki Islanders 2–1 Obaobai Bombers (2OT)
Obaobai Bombers 2–1 Turoki Islanders (OT)
Turoki Islanders 5–3 Obaobai Bombers

:: Turoki Islanders Advance 2-1 ::

For the first time ever, all four Pre-final playoff rounds went the distance. After the Arcticala Icetricity and Turoki Islanders advanced from the Wild Card Rounds they both upset their higher seeded foes in the Inter-Conference Playoffs to advance to the Vilitan Hockey Championship with one of the two clubs assured their first ever Vilitan Hockey Championship. The Islanders survived a hard-fought series with the Alikki-Corra Aye-Ayes where the home team won every game until Game 7 where the Islanders won a tense game 1-0 in overtime. In the Other Semi-Final, defending Vilitan Hockey Champions Yeaddin HC and the Arcticala Icetricity would meet for the second straight season and the fixture appeared to be on the same course as it was one season prior where Yeaddin HC won cleanly 4-1 and where all five games of the series ended in a Shutout. The entire series was flipped on end in Arcticala for Game 2, however, when more goals were scored in that game alone then in any prior playoff series between the two teams combined. An intense battle that saw three of the next four games require overtime and the first six games decided by just one goal would end in a flounder as Yeaddin HC destructed at home in Game 7, falling 0-3 setting up the Vilitan Hockey Championship final between two teams that had never before lifted the trophy.

Inter-Conference Playoffs:

Alikki-Corra Aye-Ayes 5–3 Turoki Islanders

Turoki Islanders 1–2 Arcticala Icetricity
Arcticala Icetricity 0–1 Turoki Islanders
Turoki Islanders 1–0 Arcticala Icetricity

:: Turoki Islanders Win 4-3 ::

One of the most famous Ice Hockey Venues in the Vilitan Cove region would finally get its championship moment as the Turoki Islanders would secure their first ever Banner Raising ceremony in the halls of the Turoki Coliseum by virtue of a 1-0 Game 7 Victory over the Arcticala Icetricity. After the first two games of the series were won in Overtime by the home team, the road team would win the next 4 games to set up the final in Turoki City. It was there that the Islanders - who were defeated in the first two Vilitan Hockey Championship Finals and had twice lost Game 7 with the Vilitan Hockey Championship on the line finally shone through to claim the first ever Vilitan Hockey title.

The conclusion of the inaugural season of the Huronian Hockey League has come upon us, and with it comes a few interesting storylines to go through. The Wickleigh Comets ran away with the league, placing seven points above the next highest of the whole league with 117. Apparently, the Ingny Wolves didn’t get the memo they weren’t supposed to tank until next year and placed 9 points behind the next lowest team, with a -100 goal differential. They let up a wild 43 more goals than the team with the next highest goals against.

The conclusion of the inaugural season of the Huronian Hockey League has come upon us, and with it comes a few interesting storylines to go through. The Wickleigh Comets lived up to high expectations and ran away with the league, placing seven points above the next highest of the whole league with 117. Apparently, the Ingny Wolves didn’t get the memo they weren’t supposed to tank until next year and placed 9 points behind the next lowest team, with a -100 goal differential. They let up a wild 43 more goals than the team with the next highest goals against.

First on the docket: the Wickleigh Comets. The team went crazy during the regular season, and were the only team with more than fifty wins. They had 8 more than the next highest team, the Millo Griffins. Helping their massive run was a 13 game winning streak to finish off the year, plowing through some of the stronger teams of the league. 27 year-old center Carl Heiskanen carried the team points-wise, with 24 goals and 64 helpers for 88 points. Young Roger Giroux, however, took the title of most assists with 65, putting up 10 goals alongside that. Winger Clint Langura of the state of Burton led the team in goals with 39, putting up an identical amount of assists. The wildest thing about this team is the sheer amount of high-end prospects they have: 21 year old defenseman Pontus Eriksson is on track to become a national team level player, as well as the 22 year old right defense Chris Wilson. At forward however, they are even more stacked. At 19, winger Arlen Kestrel made the national team and put up 4 goals and an assist at the World Cup of Hockey, and put up 63 points this year. Their center corps currently are easily one of the deepest in the league, and have eons of room to grow. Roger Giroux, John Ross and Gilles Lloyd are all A-Tier 22-24 year old prospects, with Samuel Joseph also there to support. The goaltending duo of 29 year olds Pierre-Marie Lau and Tom Wright performed well, admittedly more so for Lau who posted a 2.43 GAA and .917 save percentage in 68 games.

If you were trying to disappoint the largest amount of people in one city possible, you'd have to ask the Ingny Wolves how to do so. The team from the largest Huronian city failed miserably at pretty much everything, from a pitiful 4.08 Goals Against Average to a .868 save percentage to the fifth worst goals for in the league with 232. They finished dead last in the league, 9 points behind the Cambella Chargers and moved down the furthest they could in the draft lottery, down to third. It would be hard to write a worse storyline for the team, unless they become mediocre two years from now and miss out on the generational talent of Theo Eaton, who put up an astounding 9 points in 8 games at just 16 years old at the WCoH 47. The head coach was fired halfway through the year, and the replacement did even worse. Expect an upheaval from the highest valuated franchise in the league in the offseason.

6 Nanar Knights 3

2 Comyard Dukes 4
7 Segas Snakes 0

In a shocking upset, the 8th seeded Lumala Pelicans knocked out the heavily favorited 1st seed Millo Griffins. Apart from that, all higher seeds moved on, 2 in seven games and one in 4.
Highest odds to win: 2 Comyard 6/1
EASTERN
1 Wickleigh Comets 4
8 Dreamcliff Wombats 1

4 Chamaroy Cavaliers 4
5 Haiberg Merchants 0

3 Vigny Steel 4
6 Hauberg Storm 1

2 Darton Eagles 4
7 Eschbau Islanders 1

The Eastern conference saw a quick first round, without any games going to more than 5 games, and one sweep from the Chamaroy Cavaliers. No upsets have occurred in the East as of yet.

Highest odds to win: 1 Wickleigh 2/1
SECOND ROUND
WESTERN

4 Lascoux Lions 2
8 Lumala Pelicans 4

2 Comyard Dukes 1
3 Traise Captains 4

The Pelicans continue their Cinderella run, defeating the fourth seeded Lions handily in 6 games. Second seeded Comyard lost out the Captains in a quick 5 game series.

EASTERN
1 Wickleigh Comets 1
4 Chamaroy Cavaliers 4

2 Darton Eagles 2
3 Vigny Steel 4

The powerhouse Wickleigh Comets shockingly were knocked out by the 4 seed Cavaliers in a close and thrilling series that tiles towards Chamaroy. Meanwhile, Darton put up a fight but couldn’t muster enough offense to overcome the Steel.

Highest odds to win: Tied 3/1
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
WESTERN
3 Traise Captains 3
8 Lumala Pelicans 4

The Pelicans took down the Captains in a thrilling seven game series that saw plenty of goals. The 8-seeded team has taken down the top four teams in the west apart from Comyard who were knocked out by the Captains.

Odds to win: 8 Lumala 4/1
EASTERN
3 Vigny Steel 4
4 Chamaroy Cavaliers 2

Vigny made handy work of the Cavaliers, who were oftentimes simply floundering around their defensive zone. Vigny lost games 4 and 5 during rest days for their top goalie, and it showed as they let in a disturbing 11 goals in those two games. Vigny is looking good, but will have to manage to fend off the Cinderella run of the Pelicans.

Odds to win: 3 Steel 1.5/1
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND
3 Vigny Steel 4
8 Lumala Pelicans 3

Ending the magical underdog run of the Pelicans, the Vigny Steel win the inaugural Huronian Hockey League championship in a nailbiting final. Home ice advantage was huge in this round, with each team winning all of their games at home and losing those away. The first and second games went to Vigny, in a tense 3-2 OT game and a similarly close 4-2 game. Adrian Canilo was huge in both, saving 35 of 37 in one and 26 of 28 in the other. The next two went to Lumala, in games that mirrored the victories of Vigny: a 3-2 OT game and a 4-2 regulation one. Center Eric Chery was the driving force behind the 3-2 win, putting up three points, a goal and two assists. Defenseman Kenyon Thomas was huge for the Steel throughout the playoffs, putting up 16 points in 25 games (2/3 of what he had the whole season!), and deservedly wins the playoffs MVP award.

Pavolan Hockey League

The season was scorinated using a modified version of the HCL file based on the SQIS hockey formula. The table was generated using a bastardized version of Osarius's hockey table gen. Many thanks to him for the generator, and any mistakes made in adapting it to the PHL points system are wholly my own.* Note that this season the Pilots and Wings were replaced by the Flugmenn and Vængi. The PHL abolished the play-in round, meaning now the top 8 teams qualify straight to the quarterfinals.

* Case in point, "SOW" should read "OTW".

Introducing a format that nobody liked (neither understood), using points to define the winner and splitting the HCL qualifiers equally between North and South, which caused fury among the northern teams who are better overall (with 7 teams in top 10, against only 3 of Southern teams), The LNH completed its final season without handing the Harmin Cup to the winner of a final match. This time, the "big round plate" was handed out at a ceremony at Beaumont Pavillion two days after the championship ended. Interestingly, the champions, Beaumont Wolves, broke protocol and made the award ceremony a mass event. The players received their medals in uniform and on the ice, causing a skirmish with the League, who expected everyone in suits and the pavilion prepared for a formal event.
