Valanora Information
The most important thing to know about traveling through Valanora is that automobiles are banned except for government officials. A high tech railway system connects the entirety of the nation, with three international airports in Raynor City, Gladerial, and Baysleef. A ferry from Rinaldi travels to and from the island of Capri every hour on the hour. The most distinguishing feature of Valanora is the prevalent amount of forests standing in many of the inner half of the nation, even in cities, with the elven attempts to live in harmony with nature. Vanorians are a polite if not a bit high on themselves, believing elvenkind to be superior to humans, though they show a respect for the potential their humanoid cousins have.

Darmen will alternate between the counter-attack and possession oriented football. When counter-attacking, play will likely begin with the defensive-midfielder winning the ball and making an outlet pass to one of the outside midfielders. While not out-and-out wingers, they have many of the same qualities and will use their pace to make their way down the touch-lines before crossing into the box. The strike partnership will always be defined as having one target man and one poacher. Atypically, it is the target man who will score the majority of goals, while the poacher and potentially a midfielder will take shots should any subsequent chances present themselves. However, if either of the outside midfielders are stopped before they can make their crosses, Darmen's chances of attacking will disappear for the near future as the team regroups into its defensive formation.

When playing with possession, it is the goal of the Darmeni midfield to lull their opponents to sleep by stringing together large sums of passes. Against highly ranked sides, sequences of 20-30 passes being strung together before the ball even enters the final third are common. Against lesser ranked opponents, its not unheard of for the team to string together 40-50 passes before going forward to attack the goal. Additionally, any of the Darmeni midfielders may choose to show off an individual skill, for instance they might hold the ball loosely in front of them, inviting an opposing player to make a tackle, before attempting to nutmeg that player as they arrive. Such antics are rare however when facing tougher opponents. While dominating the possession can often frustrate the opposition and cause them to lose concentration, it can just as easily make the All Greens fall asleep themselves and become vulnerable to the counter-attack. Either way, it is almost a certainty that one of the goalkeepers will be called into action, it's only a question of which one.

Defensively, man-to-man marking of the main attacking opponents is the preferred method of limiting the amount of saves the Goalkeeper is needed to make. The defensive-midfielder operates almost like a sweeper, only located in front of the back line rather than behind it. On corners and free-kicks, Darmen will exclusively mark their opponents man-to-man, zonal marking is considered too unreliable.

Team Roles
Captain: Avidan Tobias
Vice-Captain: Kelan Lyne
Left Corner: Nataniel Herschel
Right Corner: Nataniel Herschel
Penalties: Halli Vaughn
Free-kicks: Nataniel Herschel

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around, they will not however engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.

The Euran Football Association’s 44th Di Bradini Cup Squad

Manager: Danny Sullivan (45, Eura)
Assistant Manager: Ian Delamoor (44, Eura)

Danny Sullivan used to be assistant to Mike Humphrey and played that role in Eura's last DBC appearance, DBC41. Now he has taken over as Euran U21 boss after Mike Humphrey became the assistant manager of the senior side under Daniel Belgrave. As a player Sullivan was a creative left midfielder for the Euran national team and memorably Brigham, a splendid player who not many had down as coaching material before his recent good work at the Brigham academy and as Humphrey's right hand man. The successor to his former role is little known but highly qualified coach Ian Delamoor who has been an assistant coach at several Gold League clubs in his short career. As expected Sullivan is tactically following the template laid out by the senior team to ensure consistency between youth and senior sides as players transition between the two. Eura are certainly looking to the future, after the dangers of an ageing squad with limited youthful vigour paid the price at the most recent World Cup and Copa Rushmori.

Godmod injuries to my players – YES (But only how the injury happens, not the extent of the injury)

Godmod other events – YES, provided you keep events within the realms of realism, so no deaths etc.

Goalkeepers

1 - Vance Simm - GK - 18 - Lajuno
13 - Garrett Richardson - GK - 20 - Callodown

Eura have been gifted with a preponderence of talented goalkeepers in recent years at the senior level, but that strength is not repeated in the youth team. These are the best keepers that could be mustered. Simm has some talent but is very inexperienced, Richardson has only a couple of seasons at the top level and both went badly.

Defenders

2 - Trent Owen - RB - 21 - Gladerial United (Valanora)
3 - Stanley Burns - LB - 20 - Holdenberg
4 - Jarrod Jenkins - CB - 20 - Falourr
5 - Dean Steele - CB - 21 - Lajuno
15 - Harold Knight - CB - 20 - Honeybadgers
19 - Jed Poole - CB - 21 - Nukon
21 - Alma Watts (F) - RB - 20 - Oakstone
23 - Alex Ingram - LB - 18 - Spartangrad

Dean Steele is the only survivor of Eura's last DBC squad from four years ago. The backline is promising but unusually traditional; Burns, Jenkins, Steele and Knight are all very physical players. Ingram and Owen add a bit of flair. Watts is the first female player called up to either the senior or U21 team. Depth is lacking in quality at centreback.

Midfielders

6 - Vincent Robshaw - CM - 21 - Unioneers
7 - Moira Woakes (F) - AM - 21 - Carsby
8 - Clint Rogers - CAM - 20 - Spartangrad
11 - Kasey Fuller - LW - 19 - Bastion
12 - Damion Bowman - LW - 20 - Hornchurch
16 - Ronan Stenhouse - CDM - 18 - Revolutionaries
18 - Gabe Stevens - CM - 19 - Bastion
20 - Lily Shephard (F) - RW - 21 - Holdenberg City
22 - Eamon Mullins - CM - 19 - Directus

Midfield is a strong point for Eura when it comes to the starting lineup, but maybe less so when looking at depth. Vincent Robshaw and Moira Woakes are mature players playing at smaller clubs despite their age and both look destined for big things; Woakes is tipped to likely be the first woman to get a senior Euran call up. Rodgers is still pretty raw but already getting a look in at Spartangrad, while Fuller and Bowman jostle for a starting spot due to their competing immense talents. Stenhouse is inexperienced but looks solid, while Stevens and Mullins are still an unknown quantity but come from good academies. Lily Shephard completes the trio of women in the team.

Forwards

9 - Franklin Harris - ST - 19 - Oakstone
10 - Fred Cox - ST - 18 - Foxhampton
14 - Tommy Sutton - ST - 19 - Falourr
17 - Redd Humphreys - ST - 20 - Directus

The least experienced area of the Euran squad. Harris, Cox and Sutton all look like potential talents to carry on the fine Euran tradition of having at least three top strikers at any one time. All three now have Gold League experience. However for now only one will start - normally it will be Harris. Humphrey's is not on the same level as the other three but current depth is lacking beyond this point.

Reserves

Paul Rees - CB - 21 - Farrenton Athletic
Briar Daniels - CB - 19 - Blackfields
Sam Mills - LM - 19 - Lajuno
Ashton Moore - CM - 18 - Farrenton Athletic
Isaac Tomlinson - ST - 20 - Workers Union
Charlie Gray - ST - 18 - Ulsa

Preferred starting lineup

GK - 1. V Simm
RB - 2. T Owen
RCB - 4. J Jenkins
LCB - 5. D Steele
LB - 3. S Burns
CDM - 16. R Stenhouse
RCM - 6. V Robshaw
LCM - 8. C Rogers
RAM - 7. M Woakes
LW - 11. K Fuller
ST - 9. F Harris

Subs

13. G Richardson
15. H Knight
21. A Watts
23. A Ingram
18. G Stevens
20. L Shephard
12. D Bowman
10. F Cox
14. T Sutton

Player Roles

Captain: Vincent Robshaw
Vice Captain: Stanley Burns
Direct free kicks: Clint Rogers
Indirect free kicks: Trent Owen
Right corner: Moira Woakes (Right footed), Clint Rogers (Left footed)
Left corner: Moira Woakes (Right footed), Clint Rogers (Left footed)
Penalties: 1. Franklin Harris 2. Clint Rogers 3. Vincent Robshaw 4. Moira Woakes 5. Kasey Fuller

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: MYTANAR TWENTY-THREE MAN SQUAD FOR DI BRADINI CUP 44/U21WC65

Lev Repin has named his twenty-three man squad for the upcoming 44th Di Bradini Cup. The team is a mixture of talented players with few senior league appearances under their belts and bona fide starlets that have already made a whole host of appearances at senior level. The squad will be captained by Alen Hrdaljko, who has been at the Di Bradini Cup before, when the Mytanar team won the whole thing in the 40th edition (OOC: an IC timewarp of some description has meant that the 44th edition is the one that follows the 40th in Mytanar time!). Two other players - the Andrijasevic twins - have made appearances at the Di Bradini Cup before, both on that same winning team with Hrdaljko. This side is somewhat a familial affair, with the aforementioned Andrijasevic twins named in the starting eleven, but also with two Odonelecs named among the substitutes. Patrik and Usten are cousins, with Usten being the brother of Jasno Odonelec, a member of the senior national team. There is also a relatively strong contingent of foreign based players in the team - albeit none in the starting eleven. Six of the twenty-three play their club football outside Mytanija. This team play a 4-3-1-2 formation, with Hrdaljko sitting as the deepest of the three central midfielders, this formation mirrors that of the senior national side in an attempt to promote a unified playing style at all levels of the national team. This approach has been criticised in the past as it means that some of Mytanija's better players may not even get in squads as they do not fit within the formation and some media outlets have called for change regarding this. Lev Repin as a coach is tactically flexible and some feel Robin Hjik's conservative approach with the national side - trying to keep tight defensively and score on the counter - may be what is causing such rigidity within the tactical framework of the national side at both senior and under-21 level.

Player Information.

GOALKEEPERS.
#1: Lazar Obradovic, 21, Crvena Zvezda [MYT].
With two seasons of Top League football under his belt and a title-winning season with Crvena Zvezda last time out, Obradovic possesses a good level of experience at the age of 21 and experience when winning games at that. A very modern goalkeeper, Obradovic can do a bit of everything and it's difficult to point out any glaring weaknesses in his game. If he continues on his upwards curve he will reach his potential at an early age and be a top goalkeeper for years to come.

#12: Zafer Muminovic, 21, Tekstil Ibon [MYT].
Muminovic is perhaps unlucky to be in the same team as Obradovic, because but for the Crvena Zvezda stopper he would be the #1 for the under-21 squad. Similarly to Obradovic he possesses two seasons of Top League experience, both with Tekstil. He won the National Cup in his first season as the side's #1 goalkeeper and this demonstrates his quality, they would have been eliminated well before the Final but for some fine saves on that cup run. We could have a real battle on ours hands to decide who becomes the senior national team #1 in a few years time with these two coming through.

#23: Visa Marinkovic, 18, KF Atlant [QUS].
Marinkovic is a raw talent in comparison to the two ahead of him and he may come into his own by the time the next Di Bradini Cup rolls around. Marinkovic impressed after a couple of years with Akademija in the Treci Liga and has earned a move to KF Atlant in Qusmo as a result. Many scouts believe some domestic teams missed a trick by not taking a punt on the youngster, who is known to have a big personality and a fiery temperament on the pitch.

LEFT-BACKS.
#2: Veselin Hristov, 18, Arka Snezhnaya [MYT].
Hristov has played two full seasons at the top-level of Mytanar football, his first was in a campaign with Partizan where they were ultimately relegated, but the second was in an Arka side that successfully completed their task of staving off relegation. He's a solid defensive full-back but he won't set the world alight going forwards too much, possesses reasonable pace and is good across the board when it comes to marking, tackling, positioning and heading.

#13: Patrik Odonelec, 17, Energija-Nuklearna [MYT] (on loan from Atletik Thessia [MYT]).
Patrik Odonelec is the cousin of Jasno and Usten Odonelec, the famous Prahecq born brothers who ply their trade for Mytanija. Goodness knows what that family feeds their children as they all seem to be excellent footballers. If Patrik had a little more experience he likely would have the starting role ahead of Hristov here. Patrik is a real do-it-all full-back, fit for the modern game and possesses the stamina and speed to get up and down the sideline for the full 90 minutes. For the upcoming league season he has been loaned to Energija-Nuklearna from parent club Atletik in order to gain experience. We would say remember the name, but the Odonelecs are well-known enough as it is, just remember to make no mistake because Patrik will be just as good as the others.

CENTRE-BACKS.
#3: Braco Evic, 18, Atletik Thessia [MYT].
Evic has two seasons of league experience playing for boyhood club 1923 Esca, before the second of the two Mytanar giants Atletik snapped him up and loaned him back for another season. He'll remain with Atletik next season as they begin to phase him into the first team. A good all-rounder, Evic could become a real top-class centre-back if Atletik can continue developing him. He perhaps lacks a bit of pace but he has demonstrated that his anticipation and positioning are both good in order to make up for this. Some feel his attitude has not been the best since first signing for Atletik with some commentators believing that Evic feels he has already 'made it' and doesn't need to continue to work in order to prove himself as a result. If there's anyone who won't stand for that kind of attitude, it is under-21 boss Lev Repin.

#4: Grigorij Savicevic, 18, Crvena Zvezda [MYT].
Savicevic could be the next bona fide star from the lauded Crvena Zvezda academy that has forged the likes of Azanovic, Todorov, Isaev and Ocokoljic down the years. A tall ball-playing centre-half, Savicevic is a player whose attitude will not let him down and many feel that he is going to be the better player out of himself and Evic. He will start for Crvena Zvezda next season alongside Azanovic and Bobic in the centre of a three-man defence with wing-backs which demonstrates his grasp of tactical nuances as well, a vital skill for top-level players that Savicevic seems to have at an early age.

#14: Usten Odonelec, 17, Clichy-sous-Bois [PRH].
The towering (193cm) brother of Jasno Odonelec (and cousin of Patrik, see above), is an enormous talent and almost a cert to start for the full national team alongside his brother one day. Usten Odonelec is strong and powerful, able to shrug defenders off the ball with ease and he's a tough tackler too. He's naturally good in the air which makes him vital at both ends of the pitch as he can defend and chip in with goals at set pieces. Can be a bit guilty of being a little clumsy occasionally and isn't quick, many feel the first will be remedied with time but the second is harder to improve.

#15: Dino Rasic, 18, FC St. Jakob [STL].
Rasic is another who came through at Akademija and could be one for the future, he's moved to FC St. Jakob in Siovanija and Teusland (one of our group opponents). Rasic can pass the ball and is a solid defender. He could become a good talent if his development continues abroad.

RIGHT-BACKS.
#5: Dusan Gojkovic, 21, Energija-Nuklearna [MYT].
An energetic right-back who has played at the top-level of Mytanar football for three seasons now. He'd be the captain of this team if it wasn't for the presence of Alen Hrdaljko in the same side. Gojkovic is one who could be ready to make the jump to the senior national side sooner rather than later, his performances with Energija-Nuklearna have been consistently good and he possesses a good range of attributes that will allow him to make the jump with relative ease. A dangerous threat going forward as he can cut inside on his left foot which is just as cultured as his right.

#16: Zvonko Nestorovski, 18, 1896 Ebor [MYT].
Nestorovski is a real talent, he came through at CDSA before earning a transfer north to 1896 Ebor following his debut season. He impressed again last year, albeit not as regularly although he may have become a victim of his own success. He's on his way to becoming a good Top League right-back though, he's solid defensively although sometimes over commits which can allow tricky wingers to get past him. He's also good going forward, boasting good crossing and link-up play.

DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS.
#17: Jetmir Podgorsek, 18, Rogerton Whitecaps [DAR].
Podgorsek is another graduate of the Akademija team (they pick up players that have been cast-off from other team's academies or those that simply want more playing time and give them it in the third tier of Mytanar football). He's a tough midfielder who is versatile and can play at right-back too. He'll slot into the side in any games where a more defensive approach is necessary or will come on as a substitute to kill tight games where Mytanija are ahead.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS.
#6: Alen Hrdaljko, 20, CDSA [MYT].
An extremely experienced campaigner at this level of the game, boasting over 100 senior appearances domestically. Hrdaljko is on the cusp of stepping up to the senior national side. He'll captain the under-21 team here and look to win a second Di Bradini Cup and join an elite club of players that can say they have done that. Hrdaljko is a diminutive midfielder who can do it all, he's creative and has an eye for a pass that some have compared to the likes of van Huijgevoort and Oiskha, whilst retaining the tenacity and toughness of the likes of Stojanovic and Voronin. He'll play the role of a deep-lying playmaker in this side and could very well break teams down from this position if he his allowed time and space in possession.

#7: Radovan Pogaenik, 19, Liria Prizren [MYT].
Pogaenik is a tall midfielder who is excellent on the ball and boasts a fearsome shot. He made a MC 5 million move from Ararat to Liria over the summer and this is representative of his talent at such an early age. He can glide past opponents with the ball at his feet whilst holding off those that are able to get close to him due to his size and strength. This could be a real breakout tournament for Pogaenik who doesn't have too much experience at club level when compared to some of those in the team alongside him.

#8: Miodrag Andrijasevic, 20, Atletik Thessia [MYT].
One of the three players in this squad that were present when Mytanija last won the Di Bradini Cup, Miodrag Andrijasevic is another tall playmaker in midfield and will look to break down opposition teams with clever passes rather than dribbling past a series of players in possession. Some feel Miodrag hasn't developed quite as well as his twin brother Zlatan and this has been true in their domestic performances, a return to under-21 tournament football could be good for Miodrag though and could give him the confidence to return to Atletik and continue back on the pathway towards stardom that he seemed destined to speed along following winning the Di Bradini Cup.

#18: Selim Petrovic, 20, Olympic Thessia [MYT].
Petrovic was exceptional in central midfield for Olympic Thessia last season as they finished 5th. Petrovic is a more box-to-box option than Andrijasevic for example and is a little bit less talented when it comes to dribbling than Pogaenik. He's a real blood and thunder central midfielder who will chase everything and bust a gut to get on the end of crosses at one end of the field and to make goal-saving challenges at the other end. Due to his form last season, many domestic commentators felt he should have been a guaranteed starter, but Repin has chosen Pogaenik ahead of him as a starter. Petrovic could end up slotting in ahead of either Pogaenik or Miodrag Andrijasevic if either fails to perform.

#19: Sefir Ajanovic, 17, Stade Yvelines [PRH].
Ajanovic is a really tidy creative presence domestically for Stade Yvelines and it's no surprise Repin has called him up as there is absolutely no doubt that the Prahecqois age-group squads would have been thinking about bringing him into the fold as soon as possible. He's good on the ball, his passing and dribbling are excellent and if he can add an end product in the form of goals he could become a really good offensively-minded central midfielder. He could be ideal as part of a three in the future as defensively he needs to work hard in order to improve and may not ever be that great, but his talent when going forward is inarguable.

ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS.
#10: Momcilo Pavlovic, 21, Nyva Zvornik [MYT].
Pavlovic has a lot of pressure on his shoulders - mainly from Maks Shishkin and those who feel the 17 year old should be starting. Pavlovic has been chosen as the starter due to his age and experience playing both in the Top League and in the Druga Liga. He's not like many other Mytanar attacking midfielders in that he's tall and physical and will score more consistently than he will assist, nevertheless he's a good player and Repin seems to like him for the style he intends to utilise with this set of players. Pavlovic will become a third forward at times, with Zlatan Andrijasevic playing high up the field and Dejan Zgela dropping a little deeper and therefore Pavlovic's instincts to try and get shots on goal could become invaluable.

#20: Maks Shishkin, 17, Energija-Nuklearna [MYT].
Shishkin is only young but he was almost single-handedly responsible for keeping FK Magevskaya in the Mytanar Top League in his debut season. He's only 167cm and his small build may suggest he can be pushed off the ball easily - which may be true in some cases - but you have to actually be able to get close to him in order to do this. His quick feet and speed more generally make him a nightmare for defenders, particularly lumbering centre-halves. Shishkin is a real talent and his performances in keeping FK Magevskaya in the Top League were rewarded with a move to Energija-Nuklearna (where he re-joins Vasya Kanadin, his coach from FK Magevskaya who made the same move over the summer - it is rumoured Kanadin had one requirement before he took the job and that was to bring Shishkin to Miago with him!).

STRIKERS.
#9: Zlatan Andrijasevic, 20, Atletik Thessia [MYT].
A tall centre forward who can more or less do everything. He's good in the air, has excellent composure and finishing and his movement can make him a menace for defenders. He's not too shabby with the ball at his feet, with some centre-halves being surprised how quickly he can move the ball when dribbling. He scored 14 in 30 last season and he looks like he could be real talent. He's not shy of moments of ingenuity either, as demonstrated by his first time volley from all of 40 yards out which lobbed the goalkeeper in a Top League game against Arka last season.

#11: Dejan Zgela, 20, CDSA [MYT].
Zgela hasn't played a minute of Top League football for club side CDSA, but he may just be the Decraa-based club's best kept secret. Zgela is a forward who likes to drop deep in order to receive the ball and then turn and dribble at pace at defenders and he's excellent at linking-up play between midfield and attack as a result. At youth level he has been used as a false nine and as a second striker to great effect and it is this tactical flexibility that has led to Lev Repin putting him straight in the starting line-up ahead of more experienced strikers (mainly Nanusevski, really).

21: Strahinja Nanusevski, 18, 1923 Esca [MYT].
Strahinja Nanusevski is 1923 Esca's next big thing and he scored 14 in 30 last season too - the same as Zlatan Andrijasevic and in a side nowhere near as good as Atletik. That sort of form had him linked with all the big domestic clubs, with Atletik and Liria reportedly being very interested. Nothing came of it though and he will remain at 1923 Esca for next season. Nanusevski has been compared to Nebojsa Aleksic and the comparison does hold-up for the most part. Nanusevski is tall enough and strong but retains decent speed and can be a nightmare for defenders due to his relentless nature, always chasing and harrying. He's a clinical finisher too and if either of those ahead of him misfire expect the calls for him to start from all quarters to become very loud indeed.

#22: Dario Gvetadze, 18, Samaj FC [COS].
Gvetadze is a real pitbull of a centre forward, he's not that tall, but he's extremely strong and robust and he will chase and fight for every ball. He's not afraid of confrontation in the slightest and will nip at defenders legs, kicking and clipping at any opportunity. He's very difficult to get physical against because of his sturdiness and his low centre of gravity only serves to make this even more difficult. Gvetadze could become a real talent if he's developed correctly in Cosumar, the next DBC could be the big one for him though.

Team roles.
Captaincy: Alen Hrdaljko will always be captain when he's on the pitch, after that it will be Gojkovic, Obradovic and then either of the Andrijasevic twins.
Corners: Hrdaljko will be on corners when he's on the pitch, after him it will be Gojkovic or Zgela. The likes of Pogaenik, Pavlovic and both Andrijasevic twins will all always be in the box due to their height, along with the two centre-halves. The height of this under-21 squad (particularly the starting eleven), could be a real advantage when it comes to set pieces.
Short free kicks: Zgela or Hrdaljko will usually have first choice, although Pogaenik and Zlatan Andrijasevic may take some also. There will be a lot of rotation on short free kicks.
Long free kicks: Hrdaljko or Gojkovic will usually take these in order to cross in for the big men.
Penalties: Line of succession goes: Hrdaljko, Zlatan Andrijasevic, Zgela, Pogaenik, Miodrag Andrijasevic. After that it would be Pavlovic/Shishkin (whichever is on the pitch), and in the event of a penalty shoot-out if some of those already named have been substitute or it goes beyond those named you're free to pick whoever.

Kits.
Home: Green and white hooped shirt, green shorts and green and white hooped socks.
Away: Black shirt with green and orange trim, black shorts and black socks.
Third: All red kit.
Goalkeeper Home: All black kit.
Goalkeeper Away: All yellow kit.
Goalkeeper Third: All black kit.

Things to note:
• Lev Repin is the senior national team assistant coach and the under-21 squad's head coach and is arguably the second greatest Mytanar footballer ever: 177 caps and 14 goals from full back, winning Copa Rushmori XVII and Cup of Harmony 56 and 59. They make a solid managerial duo also, winning Di Bradini Cup 40 with the under-21 squad. He is gaining a reputation as an excellent tactician, with his changes during the Cup of Harmony bringing noticeable results as the team made it through to the quarters before falling to a much higher ranked Juvencus side. Expected to become national team manager in the coming years.

• Mytanija has qualified to 11 World Cups, reaching the quarter finals in World Cup 68. Mytanija has won the Copa Rushmori once (XVII), to go with two victories in the Cup of Harmony (56 and 59); and a Di Bradini Cup win (DBC40). Some of these achievements were made under the names Mytannion/the Mytanar Region, Mytanija is ICly the exact same place.

• Mytanars are renowned for being passionate and therefore will not be afraid of confrontation if they feel they're on the end of a particularly rough tackle. At the same time Mytanars are not afraid of gamesmanship and may perform some questionable tackles of their own, along with tactical fouls to prevent the opponent from gaining momentum. Furthermore, diving, crowding referees and even intentional handballs (OOC: so Maradona's Hand of God and Suarez for Uruguay versus Ghana, that sort of stuff), to influence the game are not beyond Mytanar players. They will argue that winning is the most important thing and will do anything they can to achieve victory. Some might call it dirty, Mytanars don't, that won't stop them complaining when things go against them naturally.

• Mytanar fans are well-known for being hooligans, causing problems wherever they go and being prone to violence. They also make outstanding choreographies for their domestic sides and occasionally the national team (if they aren't fighting each other), so pyrotechnics, flags and lots of noise and alcohol are common place. Corteos (organised marches from a specific place to the stadium), are also common, these can lead to areas being shutdown as the sheer numbers of fans walking along roads block traffic and can lead to issues as police attempt to marshal supporters too. Given the ongoing political situation in Mytanija, whether ultra groups are able to put aside differences regarding politics, ethnicity etc for the national side is a pertinent question and the answer to it may change even from game to game.

Under-21 National Football Team

Forty-Fourth Di Bradini Cup Roster

Staff
Nicollas Duhamel, the former du Mont Saint Eloy manager and Altair assistant, chose to take the Under-21 National Team job over a B-Division assistant job. His senior assistant is fired April 7 assistant Lorens a l'Eschier, and rounding out his staff is recent national football coaching academy graduate Illec Cercelier. In his time at du Mont Saint Eloy, Duhamel wanted his offense to be as attack-minded as any Oberour team, while moving the ball quickly and using their wide players.

Manager: Nicollas Duhamel, age 53
Assistant Manager: Lorens a l'Eschier, age 44
Assistant Manager: Illec Cercelier, age 30

Goalkeepers
Yann de Branvillier is a well-travelled, poised, goalkeeper for a 20-year old, though he might struggle if demanded to make athletic saves. Nicollas Duhamel chose him to start over the more athletic but more easily rattled Reunan Vezelize, and the promising though unexperienced Thomas Grosbelhomme. Duhamel would like for de Branvillier to keep good positioning while keeping himself in the goal area.

1 Yann de Branvillier, GK, age 20 (Regium United)
12 Reunan Vezelize, GK, age 18 (Naucratis)
24 Thomas Grosbelhomme, GK, age 19 (Sesamos)

Defenders
Defenders in the Oberour system are given a lot of responsibility. A left and right-back are often all that stand between the goal and a opposing player on a counter attack. Due to their responsibilities, the defenders have to stay at home and try to keep the game in front of them. None of the defenders on the roster have a lot of experience, so they'll need to grow up quickly while the attackers score goals.

2 Bleiz le Mareglier, LB, age 19 (Meridian)
3 Daniel l’Estuve, RB, age 21 (Hibernus)
14 Meriadec de Horres, LB, age 21 (de la Charite)
15 Brendan Borain, RB, age 20 (Invicta)

Sweepers
The key position on any Oberour football team is the Sweeper. They start deep in the defense, serve as the primary playmakers, and ideally would work to finish the attack as a goal scorer. If it doesn't lead to the score, they're expected to hustle back to their own goal to start the process again. Gwennec le Treffilier flashed promise with Cyrene Bay, while Denic Aufort is known as fast and strong, but got little play time last season. Due to the physical demands on the job, sweepers often get substituted in the second half of matches.

10 Gwennec le Treffilier, SW, age 18 (Cyrene Bay)
11 Denic Aufort, SW, age 18 (Estipen)
22 Sulien le Mire, SW, age 21 (Saint Louis)
23 Noel l’Aulogier, SW, age 21 (Pescium)

Midfielders
While most of the team is made up of untested backups and promising prospects, Peterne de Courbueil is the most experienced player on the team by far. A three-season starter at Patrons, he was an easy choice as Captain. Under Duhamel, Ernand Grillon is being asked to serve as a box-to-box player, which Nicollas Duhamel didn't use in his first foray as a manager.

5 Matilin de Boissi, LM, age 20 (Regium United)
6 Peterne de Courbueil, RM, age 21, Captain (Patrons)
4 Ernand Grillon, CM, age 19 (Regium Immortal)
17 Peregrine d'Areinnes, LM, age 21 (Fleuriot)
18 Ildut Godeffroy, RM, age 20 (dit de Compiengne)
16 Turiau Escriturier, CM, age 21 (Sesamos)

Forwards
Among the forwards, Taran Bele is the target man, while Iust de Bonere and Kast le Bufetier will be tasked to provide assists. If the Oberour attack requires even more attacks on goal, better-strikers while lesser passers Viau de Biauvez or Ruvon Chatellain may be called upon off the bench.

7 Iust de Bonere, LW, age 21 (du Mont Saint Eloy)
8 Kast le Bufetier, RW, age 21 (Hibernus)
9 Taran Bele, ST, age 21 (Invicta)
19 Viau de Biauvez, LW, age 20 (Meridian)
20 Ruvon Chatellain, RW, age 21 (Altair)
21 Nicandreo le Lionnais, ST, age 21 (Occident)

Siovanija and Teusland National U21 Football Team

Facts

Nation Name: United Republics of Siovanija and Teusland
Short Names: Siovanija and Teusland, the United Republics
Demonyms: Siovanijan, Teuslander/Teus
FA: Siovanija and Teusland Football Association (STFA)
Colours: Blue and gold
Anthem: ‘High Mountain Skies’
Highest Domestic League: Republikaliga (At the youth level Jugends-Republikaliga, or J. Republikaliga)
Nicknames: The Goldhorns
Style Modifier: +4

Coaching Staff

Manager: Richard Kruger

Kruger is a young manager that has been recognized within the United Republics as a person who may be destined to have a very, very good career. After an unremarkable playing career, he took a job with TSV Marzig’s youth teams, where he quickly became recognized for his ability to develop players. The current golden generation of Marzig youths grew under his tutelage, and last season as manager he guided Marzig to a championship in the youth league. He’s been given the role of U21 manager by the STFA for this Di Bradini Cup, and in all likelihood he will soon have a job with a senior club in the Republikaliga. Kruger favours a 4-2-3-1 formation and a high-pressing, fast-paced and physical game.

23-man Squad

Out of these players, only one has ever played before for his country at the senior level, and the U21 team has not yet played a match, so caps/goal statistics are not listed.

Goalkeepers

GK -- Ewald HEUSER -- #1 -- 18y/o -- FC Teussen Stelburg
GK -- Dominik STERNER -- #12 -- 19y/o -- TSV Marzig
GK -- Sven KIEBER -- #23 -- 19y/o -- FC Felsenkirchen 1879

There’s a strong contingent of keepers coming up the pipeline for the national team, and the way is led by Ewald Heuser. He’s been tipped from a very young age as a successor to Julian Fehr in the FC Teussen Stelburg goal, and his breakthrough is expected to come soon. Dominik Sterner was brilliant in the Marzig goal as his team won the youth league championship last season, and he too can be expected to jump to the Republikaliga soon. Sven Kieber is another solid keeper, but he likely won’t see too much playing time this tournament.

RIght Back

RB -- Luka AMBROZ -- #2 -- 19y/o -- FK Metropola Borograd
RB -- Konstantin SOTIROV -- #13 -- 18y/o -- Energija Chernovets

Luka Ambroz is an exciting young right back, poised to make a breakthrough into the Metropola Borograd team soon. He is relentless going forward, and is one of the fastest players on this team. His end product needs a bit of work before becoming a Republikaliga mainstay, but the focus is mainly on becoming more and more consistent with his crosses. Behind him, Konstantin Sotirov is another fast, forward-thinking full back who will be helpful as an extra wind late in matches.

Centre Back

CB -- Karl-Heinz JAGER -- #4 -- 19y/o -- FC Teussen Stelburg
CB -- Kasper MARTZ -- #5 -- 18y/o -- TSV Marzig
CB -- Lozen PIRONEV -- #14 -- 20y/o -- Wye United (APX)
CB -- Anton HAERING -- #15 -- 19y/o -- FC St. Jakob

Centre back is a position of strength for the Goldhorns. Karl-Heinz Jager is the obvious man that is going to be relied on every match to perform to the highest level, he’s earned 4 senior caps for the national team coming out of the recent AOCAF, and was a major part of the squad that defeated Vilita and Turori in the Round of 16. He comes in beside Kasper Martz, a strong ball-playing defender who has excelled for Marzig at the youth level and has a bright future ahead of him. Lozen Pironev, formerly of Energija Chernovets’ academy before transferring to Wye United of Apox, is another very strong defender who will certainly get his chance at this tournament. Anton Haering is solid as well, but it’s not as likely his number will be called here.

Left Back

LB -- Edgar STEIMLE -- #3 -- 20y/o -- 1912 Stelburg
LB -- Axel RICHTER -- #16 -- 17y/o -- FC Teussen Stelburg

Edgar Steimle might just be one of the players who makes a name for himself if the Goldhorns do well at this tournament. He’s bided his time at 1912 Stelburg, and is expected to break into the first team this season. Capable of flying down the left side of the park, he isn’t as willing to throw caution to the wind as some others on this team. He is a responsible defender, with good vision for a pass or cross when on the ball. Axel Richter is one of the younger players on the team, and the Teussen youth product is very strong in defence and dynamic with the ball. There’s talk he may be converted to left wing someday, but for now he’s a left back.

Centre Midfield

CM -- Borislav GEORGIEV -- #6 -- 19y/o -- Olympia Borograd
CM -- Goran IVANCIC -- #8 -- 18y/o -- FK Metropola Borograd
CM -- Ronald WENZ -- #17 -- 18y/o -- FC St. Jakob

Borislav Georgiev’s nickname at Olympia is the Beast, and that describes his playstyle at centre midfield. It’s very difficult to take the ball away from him, and he has a sharp physical edge to his game. He’s studied under Vladimir Kostov at Olympia Borograd, the senior national side’s midfield destroyer, and Georgiev looks to be following along his path. Beside him, Ivancic is a playmaker incredibly skilled on the ball. Despite his short stature, he plays quite bravely, and has made many defenders look like fools. He needs to add a bit more physicality to his game, however, if he is to star at the highest level. Ronald Wenz offers another offensive option in midfield, and is likely to serve as a super sub late in matches.

RIght Wing

RW -- Lukas TAUSCHER -- #11 -- 18y/o -- FC Teussen Stelburg
RW -- Vidyo AVRAMOV -- #18 -- 19y/o -- Herzegovina Phoenix (BNJ)

Lukas Tauscher has had a strong career in the youth ranks of FC Teussen Stelburg, but has fallen off a bit from the lofty heights once set for him. He was once described as being even more talented than Thorsten Kramer, but perhaps scouts were too quick to judge the youngster. That sounds harsh, of course, but Tauscher is still likely to be a very strong Republikaliga player and a key part of this Di Bradini Cup team. Maybe he can reach those heights here, and prove doubters wrong. Vidyo Avramov, fresh off his transfer to Banija’s Herzegovina Phoenix, is a very, very fast winger who bombs forward relentlessly. He will get his share of minutes here, and there’s definitely a chance that Avramov could become the number one choice at right wing before the end of the group stage.

Centre Attacking Midfield

CAM -- Kurt WITZEL -- #10 -- 18y/o -- TSV Marzig
CAM -- Vsevolod HRISTOV -- #20 -- 16y/o -- Energija Chernovets

If any player on this squad would be described as its best, that honour would likely go to Kurt Witzel. Witzel was a dominant force for TSV Marzig in the J. Republikaliga last season, and looked solid on his 7 league and cup appearances for the senior team. A confident player on the ball, he can cut defences open, and even create chances for himself to score. He’s not shy at all, and doesn’t mind taking shots. Vsevolod Hristov at 16 years old has been shown faith by the STFA and Richard Kruger here, but he’s largely seen as the successor to Viktor Dimitrov at Energija Chernovets and has the potential to develop into a star.

Left Wing

LW -- Linus SEGERT -- #7 -- 20y/o -- FC Einheit Marnau
LW -- Wolfgang RIEDER -- #19 -- 19y/o -- FC Kaiserhaven

Linus Segert is, alongside Karl-Heinz Jager, perhaps the most experienced player in this roster. He’s had 2 full Republikaliga seasons under his belt, and has been a major part in FC Einheit Marnau avoiding relegation. A player with his experience can only be beneficial for the team, and Segert will be counted on to provide some of his cutting runs and strong crossing at this tournament. Behind him, Wolfgang Rieder led FC Kaiserhaven’s youth team in goals and assists last season, but was also top of the offside column. Rieder is a very talented player, but still has more work to do.

Centre Forward

CF -- Horst HACKL -- #9 -- 18y/o -- TSV Marzig
CF -- Zlatan KARAVELOV -- #18 -- 20y/o -- Energija Chernovets
CF -- Andrey BUNEV -- #22 -- 16y/o -- FK Metropola Borograd

Obviously the centre forward is going to be someone whom goals are expected of, but Horst Hackl has the ability to seemingly put the ball in from any position. A complete forward, he torched J. Republikaliga defences scoring 23 goals. In 5 senior appearances (league and cup) he scored 3 goals. If Hackl gets the ball, he is very hard to stop. A strong, physical player, he can beat defenders and turn on a dime to take the shot. If he can transfer his talents at the youth level to the senior game, he could become one of our nation’s greatest. Zlatan Karavelov is the heir to Miro Dinev’s throne at Energija Chernovets, and the young Karavelov has made a good impression at that club. He’ll back up to Hackl, but is a very good option off the bench if the game requires. Andrey Bunev, at 16, is one for the future, taken along mainly for the experience. He’s always looked mature on the field, however, and if he gets a chance perhaps could create something special.

Set Pieces
Left Corners: Linus Segert
Right Corners: Lukas Tauscher
Free Kicks: Kurt Witzel, Goran Ivancic
Penalties: Horst Hackl, Kurt Witzel, Linus Segert, Lukas Tauscher, Luka Ambroz

Captains
The captain will be Karl-Heinz Jager. If he is subbed off or not starting, the armband will pass to Linus Segert, Borislav Georgiev and Ewald Heuser respectively.

Kits

The youth team will wear the same kit as the senior national team. The crest, circular, features an edelweiss in the middle with blue and gold colour around it. The home kit is coloured mainly gold, with blue highlights. In addition, a blue stripe is in the middle of the kit, with the crest inside. Gold shorts and blue socks round out the home design. The away kit is coloured mainly blue, with gold highlights and a gold stripe. Blue shorts and gold socks complete the design. The blue and gold here come from the flag of the country. The goalkeeper kit, not pictured, is fully green. Green was both the colour of the House of Stajovic, Siovanija’s old imperial family, and the colour of the uniforms of many Knights from Teusland during several historical conflicts. The national team’s uniforms are truly able to represent the entire nation.

Group and Schedule

The Goldhorns have been drawn into Group C at the Di Bradini Cup, and this group looks to be extremely challenging, perhaps even a Group of Death. Some in the national media have taken to calling it the Group of Deathija, based on the fact that seemingly every nation in the tournament with the ‘ija’ suffix to their name is in this group.

Siovanija and Teusland
Baker Park
Mytanija
Banija

The Goldhorns have met each of these teams before at the senior level, but have not managed a win. A 3-1 loss to Baker Park at the Baptism of Fire Quarterfinal comes to mind, while Mytanija and the Goldhorns played out a 1-1 draw in a friendly match. Finally, the Goldhorns lost to Banija 4-3 in a testimonial match for Kiggwe Mavuto. Obviously no player on this roster participated in any of those games, and considering the match with Baker Park was 6 years ago, they were mostly still in high school. Still, each of the nations in this group are strong football teams, and they can be expected to play at a high level. There will be no easy games in this group for any team.

MD1: Mytanija vs Siovanija and Teusland
MD2: Siovanija and Teusland vs Banija
MD3: Baker Park vs Siovanija and Teusland

So, the opener is against Mytanija, while a Southwestern derby goes on the second matchday as the Goldhorns take on Banija. Finally, on matchday 3, the Goldhorns will meet up with Baker Park in a match that is likely to be very important in terms of qualification from the group.

We’ll be here with coverage from the Di Bradini Cup, as the young Goldhorns take on the world.

RP PERMISSIONS
As you might've noticed, some of these players aren't human. Just wanted to point out they're still fairly close to being human, just in case. Please don't kill them. Injuries for large stretches of time have to be informed by telegram, or else they'll get the ignore cannon treatment. Anything else (bar anything that destroys any city of the empire or its' people, just in case anyone gets a bit too creative) is fine by me.

Juven U21 National Football Team "I legionari"

Image

The Juven football association searched throught the numerous football academies in the nation to find the Empire's best football players under the age of 21, while also finding players able to perform in a similar fashion to the men's team. (Which is quick, offensive and counter-offensive play with little emphasis on defence.)

CB:Nazario Alesio
CB:Oddo Monti
CB:Caetano Labelle
CDM:Jocelyn Lefèvre
CDM:Amilcare Abatangelo
RM:Alfredo Deniau

CB:Umberto Nicosia
CB:Alberto Cantù
CDM:Emilio Dubois
CDM:Ferran Legrand
RM:Piero Oriol
RM:Pascal Murgia
LM:Gioacchino Martelli
LM:Calixto Proulx
RF:Clément Drago
RF:Cesário Romano
LF:Liborio Roma
LF:Joaquim Di Caprio
CF:Vitale Barone
CF:Luc Jordà

Coaching staff:
Main coach/youth recruiter:Júlio Nicastro
Assistant coach/youth recruiter:Edmundo Biancardi
Assistant coach/youth recruiter:Valerio Gage

Under Júlio Nicastro's guidance and insight, "i legionari" are stepping in the 44th Di Bradini with a strong mindset and an even stronger physical condition as Nicastro's is a coach known to help players get stronger mentally and physically quickly and efficiently. This, alongside their speed and agility, will be the focal points of the main tactic, which follows the men's national team's steppings, playing fast and agressivively.

LEV REPIN'S GREAT OPPORTUNITY
NEVENKA PLANINC SETS OUT WHY THE DBC IS REPIN'S CHANCE TO SHOW THAT HE SHOULD BE #1 POST-HJIK

by Nevenka Planinc

Lev Repin and Robin Hjik have been good friends for a long time, having played together for a little while with the Mytanar national side and apparently hitting it off straight away. As players they were very different, with Hjik notable for the big moments he created whether scoring or assisting crucial goals and lifting trophies and Repin being most notable perhaps for his consistency and reliability (although he is no stranger to either big moments or trophies).

As a managerial pairing, many media commentators feel that the axis is turning between the two and that Repin may well be the brighter light. Hjik is known for his conservative approach, safety first defensively before hitting opponents on the counter attack. Many feel he is slow to make tactical changes and to react to tweaks opponents make out on the pitch.

Repin is known to be almost the polar opposite, a bit of a tactics nerd who will pore over video and read reports in order to come up with a masterplan to beat each and every opponent. Some feel that Repin is almost too tactical and can be guilty of almost over-planning, that at the end of the day tactics can only go so far because the game of football is decided by the players out on the pitch who can conjure up moments of brilliance or deliver catastrophic individual errors.

The two were chosen in tandem to manage the Mytanar side that entered Di Bradini Cup 40, where a team featuring Jezdimir Ocokoljic (and current under-21 squad members Alen Hrdaljko and the Andrijasevic twins), surprised world football by going all the way to the final and lifting the trophy. It was seen as a sign that Mytanija was back and that if these players could continue on their upwards trajectory in terms of development that a return to the top-level with the senior squad could happen sooner rather than later.

It was Hjik who was chosen to lead the national side back into the international spotlight, a safe pair of hands that has experienced playing at every level of international and club football and has a list of honours that many players would be envious of. His approach to management has been based on uniting the squad – a tough task given the political and social backdrop in Mytanija throughout the period – whilst keeping matches close to give the team an opportunity to gain a result through scoring just a single goal.

It may not be the most exciting approach, something he has admitted throughout his tenure, but it has been relatively successful. A reasonable showing during World Cup qualification ensured the national side didn’t embarrass themselves on their return to world football and a Cup of Harmony quarter final run was especially impressive. The performance in that quarter final tie versus Juvencus was particularly good, with Mytanija being beaten only with a 94th minute injury time winner after a performance which seriously frightened the (at the time) 33rd ranked Juvencus, a team that should probably have qualified for the World Cup given their quality.

The Copa Rushmori at home in Mytanija was enormous for the country and the FSM were alleged to have given Hjik one simple instruction ahead of hosting the tournament: do not embarrass Mytanija. The football was turgid, perhaps evidencing a manager who really did not want to take too many risks, but it was effective and Mytanija progressed out of the group to the quarter final where they met Nephara. Losing to one of the best national sides in world football was not an embarrassment and the FSM got what they wanted.

Robin Hjik has probably done well enough to receive about a 7 or an 8 out of 10 up until this point in his role as the Mytanija national team manager. So why is there such indifference towards him continuing in the role? And why do so many people believe that Hjik – an absolute legend in Mytanar football, pretty much the legend – perhaps needs to move aside for the national team to now start making the next step towards re-joining the international elite, qualifying for the World Cup and challenging at the latter end of the Copa Rushmori again?

Lev Repin is the answer to the question. Many see him as the next step for Mytanija, with his tactical flexibility and intelligence perhaps being the difference between a reasonable World Cup qualifying campaign and actual challenging for qualification or the difference between quarter finals in the likes of the Copa Rushmori and Cup of Harmony and fighting it out for a medal position.

It is well noted that he is the tactical mind behind many of Mytanija’s greatest successes in recent years too. In the national team’s Cup of Harmony opener versus Mattijana it was Repin who thought to bring Vukovic on for Feric and instruct Odonelec to drift out to the left to create overloads against the inexperienced and tiring Mattijana full-back. It worked a dream. Similar changes worked against Acronius too, a side that had the beating of the Mytanar team during World Cup qualifying but were thoroughly out-played during the Cup of Harmony fixture despite the 1-1 score line.

Hjik has been criticised for his slowness in reacting to changes in games and opposition tactical changes, but Repin thrives on it and his love for all things tactical make him a fearsome opponent for those that have to come up with game plans against his teams. It seems that his consistency and reliability as a player have almost translated into him being determined to know as much as possible about opposition tactics and philosophies as a manager, so that he knows the way to beat them.

Hjik has not been a bad manager for the Mytanar national team, as mentioned he’s probably at a 7 or an 8 out of 10 in terms of performance. Repin might just be able to take the team a bit further, with an approach more grounded in the modern game and a work ethic that few managers would be able to match. His obsessiveness seems to help him even if he could become a victim of it if he perhaps overthinks things.

This Di Bradini Cup doubles almost as a job interview for Lev Repin, he’s being given the reigns of the under-21 squad and everything is down to him. Last time Mytanija came to the tournament he was part of a managerial partnership with Hjik, this time around it is all on him. The team doesn’t really have a superstar in its ranks as it did back then either, there’s no one of the calibre of Jezdimir Ocokoljic in the team who will destroy opponents entirely on their own. However, there is genuine quality in this side and three players have who have won the Di Bradini Cup before, too.

Mytanija has always been a country that produces technically adept players who have wonderful careers – often outside Mytanija – with the Top League formerly being one of the greatest leagues in world football. When it has come to the national team, however, there has always been something missing: a lack of tactical nous at the highest level. Lev Repin could be the remedy to this.

Robin Hjik won’t be the national team manager forever, he has said as much with increasing regularity. When the time comes that he decides that he cannot take the national team any further – or the FSM makes the decision for him – there is currently no real clear candidate to replace him apart from Lev Repin. That means that this tournament is almost a dress rehearsal for what can be expected post-Hjik if Repin is chosen, it is a practice run for Repin with the under-21 squad before he takes the steering wheel of the senior side.

If he can demonstrate that his reported tactical intelligence is there and that he is as exceptional a managerial talent as many feel – by taking this Mytanar under-21 squad deep into the tournament, for example – then he may well confirm himself as the only choice post-Hjik. This is Lev Repin’s golden opportunity to secure that job for himself, one that he is known to have the ambition to take on. A good performance in this tournament will immediately blow any other candidates out of contention.

Commonwealth of Baker Park National Under 21 Team

The FAC sends a squad to the DiBradini Cup for the third time, hoping to build upon the results of the previous two appearances, and look this time to a core group who were instrumental in winning the Under 18 World Championship. Tony Weiss has been appointed to lead this squad, as regular U21 boss Liam Sullivan is preparing the squad that will compete in the upcoming Olympics. Weiss led the 18's to that victory in the SWC and knows most of the players included in this edition of the team, and will be assisted by Zoe Montgomery, who followed him in managing the Under 18 side. Five players will be making their debut in the youth team setup here, and once again the FAC have arranged for the training facilities of Vanorian side AS Sharala as their base for the tournament.

Qusmo U21 readies itself for major Di Bradini Cup opportunity

Qusmo U21 national team manager Lucex-Kynda Uzo has voiced confidence ahead of a Di Bradini Cup campaign in which Qusmo has found itself in a group with The South Falls, Robostania, & Third Asopia.

“I think we have a wonderful chance of advancing to the knockout rounds,” said Lucex-Kynda, “& perhaps even as a group winner.” In the last edition of this tournament, Qusmo finished second in its group to Cosumar but defeated dark horse championship candidate Neo-Romanum before being defeated by eventual champions Mapletish in the quarterfinals.

“Neither the U21 team nor the senior team has ever played any of the teams in our group, either in a tournament setting or in a friendly. That’s meant that my staff & I have had our hands full researching these teams & their tendencies, but we are confident that we know the strengths & weaknesses both of our own team & those of our opponents - & we’re very confident with how we match up,” declared the manager.

“Our first opponent is The South Falls. Their senior team finished last in Group O in the Baptism of Fire, with one point from three matches, & then went on to finish eighth out of ten in World Cup Qualifying Group 15, with fourteen points from eighteen matches. That’s the extent of their senior team’s performances in competition. Qusmo, of course, has a much better record in senior team competition, but we’re not in a senior team tournament,” Lucex-Kynda noted.

“They’re our only group opponents who have competed in a youth national team football tournament before, & they didn’t fare much better. Last year, they were one of three teams to lose all three of their Di Bradini Cup group stage matches. They had the worst goal differential of the tournament, by a margin of two goals, the worst defense of the tournament, by a margin of three goals, & the worst performance in total,” Lucex-Kynda exclaimed.

“That said, it won’t be a walk in the park,” the manager cautioned. “A lot of the reason The South Falls did so poorly was because of their first match, against Cassadaigua. They lost by a whopping 2-7 scoreline. They lost by five in their first match, but they only lost by three against Savojarna, & then they nearly drew Mapletish in a 2-1 decision on the final matchday. That’s the champions of the tournament we’re talking about. We lost by the same margin. They were knocked around early, but they clearly grew much better throughout the course of the tournament. They conceded twelve goals in their three group stage matches, so our strategy will be to hit them hard & fast on offense, but if they can pick up from where they left off in their last Di Bradini Cup match, we could be in for quite a match.”

“Next, we have Robostania on the schedule. It has been difficult to get good scouting on this team,” the manager admitted. “In fact, one of my scouts reported that they play a 4-3-4 formation - & didn’t say a word about who they might have on the bench. Of course, they’ve since left Fuzpon Qusma, but there will still be some unknowns with the team. They’ve only ever entered Campionato Esportiva, & they were locked into a very tough group. They played Brenecia & Newmanistan, &, very importantly, they only lost 1-0 to each. They may not have won, but those are very impressive scorelines, indicative of a quality team that can have success - &, indeed, they did pick up three points against South Toronto, in a 4-2 win. We don’t know much about their U21 team, unfortunately, but on the basis of their senior team alone, we can’t count them out.”

“Finally, we’ll close out the group stage in a match against Third Asopia. They may be the toughest to figure out before the tournament starts, so I’m glad that we’ll have two matches worth of data to analyze before we have to play them,” noted Lucex-Kynda. “Third Asopia will be playing in the Independents Cup, but it will be their debut in a national team tournament, regional or multiversal, senior or youth. We just don’t know what to expect from them. The hope is, though, that we’ll have the experience that they lack to power through what they might have. & we’ll be hoping that we’ll have booked our ticket to the knockouts with two wins already by the time we play them.”

“Ultimately, we’re going to go into this tournament expecting to get out of the group stage. We’re the only team in this group who has ever gotten out of a group stage in a national team football tournament before, & we expect to do so again. We have a great group of players. Just look at our midfield: half of our four starters won bronze medals at the last Cup of Harmony. & this team made it all the way to the quarterfinals in the last edition of this tournament & gave Mapletish a good fight. Our goal is for this team to get at least that far, & perhaps even further - though, by the quarterfinals, we might have to face a team from the Group of Deathanija,” Kynda-Lucex chuckled. “The difference between Group C & Group D is stark. In Group C, any one of those teams could go far in this tournament; here, we are the clear favourites to win our group. & that’s what we’re going to set out to do.”

Kit Information
From a prepared statement from Fuzpon Qusma in lieu of an actual image
"Our home kit will be in our national colours, red & gold. Emblematic of our national flag, a thick two-colour sash will run from the right shoulder down to the left hip, both front & back. The top sash colour will be gold, & the bottom sash colour will be red. Above the sash will be a red field, while below the sash will be a gold field. Our shorts will be red & our socks will be gold. On the back, we will have a large red circle outlined in gold to recall our flag, break the sash, & allow clearer kit numbers, which will be printed in gold, just like the sun on our flag. Highlights throughout the kit will be gold. Our clash kit will be white with the full, uninterrupted, two-colour sash on front & back. We will have black numbers & red highlights, complemented by the same red shorts & gold socks. Our goalkeepers' kits will be black with the sash on the front side only, with white numbers, gold highlights, black shorts, & black socks. We believe that these kits are not only striking, but will represent our country well internationally. We are proud to represent Qusmo, & we eagerly look forward to the matches ahead."

Note on Qusma Culture
All Qusma are biologically androgynous; you should refer to them in your RPs as they or them. Speaking of referring to Qusmi’y, if you plan to use names, know that the “first” name - the long, hyphenated one - is a Qusmi’s family name, & the “last” name - the short, unhyphenated one - is their given name. On the subject of proper nomenclature, when you read my RPs, you should know that Qusmo refers to the country of Qusmo, Qusma is an adjective for something that is from or of Qusmo, a Qusmi is a person who is from Qusmo, & Qusmi’y are a group of more than one Qusmi. (In other words, Qusmo is to Scotland as Qusma is to Scottish as Qusmi is to one Scot as Qusmi'y are to several Scots.) I keep most of my RPs stored in my sportswire; feel free to reference these or contact me directly if you have any questions or would like to learn more.

Banija prepares for a Southwestern Showdown with first ever gender integrated team at the U21 World Cup

Image
Namakula Kawesa crosses the ball for Loyola-Istria in last season's BCSG Semifinals

VALANORA- Banija made a thunderous appearance in the 42nd Di Bradini Cup, when they were led there by then assistant, and the current manager for the senior national side, Marcus Waters. Their first ever foray into those waters, they didn't just crash land- they landed with one mission on their mind- bring home silverware to the RBSA's trophy cabinet. Then it was only filled with the bronze medal from their final apperance in the United Valhaven Regional Football Championships, in what was considered a disappointing finish against both Devonta and Frenline Delpha.

They went in and made an impact six years ago- and several people saw their stars take off because of that. Marcus Waters, the manager, ended up getting promoted to manage the senior national team in the midst of World Cup 80 qualifying, and the rest is history- he led a stunning comeback in the back half of qualifying, winning seven while going undefeated over their final 9 qualifiers, to make the playoffs and stun Mercedini to make their first ever World Cup- World Cup 80. He was the assistant manager of the senior side before he was hired, of course, but his star shone bright at the Di Bradini Cup. But it wasn't just the current national team manager who's star was shining at the 42nd Di Bradini Cup.

There are a number of players who are currently on the Banijan national team who came from the Di Bradini 42 squad. One of Banija's starting center backs in the last AOCAF, Jalang Ba, was a starter, and the captain, of the Di Bradini 42 squad. Okonkwo Okparro, the current Banijan #10, was on that Di Bradini 42 squad. The starting right back from that squad, Obey Chidiebere, was on that squad. And Gitonga Kahara's star was shining in that tournament- fresh off of winning the Golden Boot in the All-Hinodejin Youth League, he dominated that tournament, which led to him getting purchased by Polaris out of the Terrenean League. All in all, 8 players from that team were on the Banijan roster for AOCAF 57. So the farm system, of course, is working.

That's all the proof you need to see that the future men, and now women, wearing green are likely to come from these teams. WIth Sarh Sane's retirement as the assistant manager and the Director of Player Development after AOCAF LVII("I'm too old for this" in his own words, as he was 70) the RBSA had to look elsewhere to get a new coach for the youth squads. And after looking far and wide, they happilly announced the hiring of Forzu-Denir Ono, for a one year term. He will manage during this tournament, and he'll coach the men's team at the upcoming Olympiad- which have a U23+3 rule for the men's side.

Forzu-Denir Ono was the manager of the KF Trew in the Pug Qusmyra for the past two seasons, finishing in fourth place and fifth place, respectively, during the last two seasons. A former U19 manager at the same club has taken over Qusmo's Di Bradini squad for the last Di Bradini Cup, which the Banijans did not participate in, and will coach at this tournament as well. Ono himself has high ambitions for his stint as the manager. "Managing a young team is a triple task- giving the seniors a chance to evaluate all this talent, giving the players a chance to thrive, and, of course, trying to win. Banija has a strong youth program- 3rd place in the last 42nd Di Bradini Cup has ensured that. We look forward to continuing that tradition, and shooting for the stars here in Valanora."

Ono was asked about the talent on this team, alongside what his relationship will be like with Marcus Waters. "Marcus will be here, evaluating talent as we go on. We've settled into an agreement- I have full reigns and control over this team- the practices, who plays where, who plays when. It's important that command structure not be confused. However, Marcus Waters will be closely evaluating talent not just at games, but at practices too. And boy, do we have a lot of it. Namakula Kawesa has it all- she might be the smartest young player I've seen to play this game. She is able to slow the game down in her head- her mind works incredibly fast. And then you look at players like Jawara up top, like Singateh on the wing- we have all kinds of talent on this team. I'm excited."

And that, of course, gets into the heart of it. Unlike the 42nd Di Bradini Cup, when all eyes were guaranteed to be on Gitonga Kahara, there is no surefire superstar player for Banijan fans to point at and be like "yep, that person's an all-time great." But the manager has mentioned a few of the biggest players to watch. Namakula Kawesa, who is announced as the team's #10, will have quite the pressure on her shoulders- her, alongside Uzoma Iruka, Anti Kandeh, and Rohey Bajo, are Banija's first four women to play on an integrated national team. The BSL and the regional leagues remain gender segregated for now, of course, but still a massive step- the pressure on her shoulders will be immense.

Can Kawesa deal with it? She's known right now as the best player in college soccer in Banija, and it's easy to see why. The way she orchestrates the Blue Thunder offense is a thing of beauty. In her junior year, she led college soccer both in goals scored and goals assisted. She is prolific- she gets around potential tackles like they're nothing. It will be a mental game for her though- being Banija's first starring women on a men's team. Can she deal with what is sure to be unfair criticism of her if she struggles, if she misses a tackle, if she loses a ball? The spotlight will be on her like never before, and we're going to understand how she deals with it.

Banija finds itself in Group C in this tournament- opening the tournament with Baker Park, then facing Siovanija & Teusland, and finishing the group stages with Mytanija. There's a serious case to be made that this is the Group of death- but why woudl you say that? Not because of their history. But because a touranment like this is about the future. All four nations are up & coming- just four World Cup appearances between them, two for Baker Park and a pair for Banija. But Qusmo had an excellent qualification campaign, Mytanija had an excellent qualification campaign, and all four nations are climbing as hard as they can to reach that upper echelon of nations. Two of them, of course, are Banija's neighbors in the Glorious Southwest- Baker Park is just east of Qasden, while Siovanija & Teusland are well to the South of Banija as an island chain. Mytanija is not in Atlantian Oceania at all, being a Rushmora side.

That unique motivation- the emerging talent in all four nations, as well as the unique motivations for all to each take their first steps towards the global elite in this sport, mean that this group has the potential to be the tournament's best group. All the games in Group C are going to be scrappy- expect physical games, expect players leaving their hearts on the field. And yet, only two can make the knockout stages- two teams that will be well prepared, after being tested in this group, to make a deep run in Valanora. It's hard to predict- when are our chances to see these players play? Hopefully, Banija will be one of the last two standing in what is sure to be an entertaining and tight group, and strong enough to get up and make what would certainly be another wonderful run here.

U21s set to open DBC 44 against Banija
by Mindy Cartwright, National Soccer Writer

The last time the Commonwealth Under 21 team faced their opening match opponents from Banija in the DBC, it was the quarterfinals of edition 42 at the Angelotic Temple in Longview. The Vijana Kadongo Kamu came out on top that day 5-2 on their way to a third place finish in the competition. Then, both sides were comprised of men, so this upcoming renewal of the rivalry between the two nations--albeit a friendly rivalry--will have a much different look.

For the first time, the Banijans will include women in their squad, a direct result of the recent passage of a new law in the Kingdom aimed at integrating women into athletic competition as well as broadening their roles in the society at large.
It was following the previously mentioned meeting between the two nations that the FAC made the decision to begin to open the Development Team squads to coed participation, spearheaded by Liam Sullivan, then manager of the U21's based on the experiences of facing both mixed sex and all female teams in that tournament.

To sum up the journey in the full circle from that day, the squad that will be in black & gold this time will include all but one of the young women who were the pioneers of that decision, which was implemented for the SWC Under 18 championships, which the BP side subsequently won. A fact not lost on manager Tony Weiss when asked about it prior to departing for Valanora.

"I told the gals that if we do well here, we might have to come up with a nickname for them as a group. They seemed a bit non-plussed about being considered "trailblazers", mainly because they are all quite aware of how much others have done before them in making it possible that we would even get to a point of considering men & women playing alongside one another."

Weiss has been away from regular team management for awhile, concentrating on his role as Director of Coaching, so was the fact that he was coming back to it with a group he knows particularly well a blessing or a bit of a hindrance? "It's really fun to see how much they have grown as individuals, the progress they've made as players and of course we haven't had the whole getting to know you phase like we had the first time around; they know how I operate and they know Zoe & Chris as well, so it's been like a family reunion, but we've made it clear that when the lights go on, we are here for serious business."

Speaking of his staff, Zoe Montgomery succeeded Weiss in the U18 role and Chris LaRue was one of the coaches on his first go around. Another way to ease the transition? "Yeah, I guess so. We all sort of got thrown together by the way slots were assigned for the Olympics, this team and the 18's. So it could've been any combo, but we all know one another well from work we've done behind the scenes for the National side."

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - MIXED

This will be the thirteenth time that Abanhfleft will be participating in the Di Bradini Cup. Ever since the team finished third in Di Bradini 33, it has been a period of ups and downs for the team. First, Di Bradini 34, considered as Abanhfleft's best chance to have won some silverware, was mysteriously discontinued for unknown reasons. Then the team was knocked out in the group stages of Di Bradini 35 by Farfadillis, and then they were knocked out in the round of 16 of Di Bradini 36 by a Pasarga team that decided to show up at that exact game. And then in Di Bradini 37, they were knocked out by a very motivated Tumbra side. Di Bradini 38 was when they failed to survive Tomikosan. In Di Bradini 39, Ceni tripped up Abanhfleft in extra time, and in Di Bradini 40, Abanhfleft ended up propping up the rest of Group B after a matchday three draw against the Iron Syndicate. In Di Bradini 41, the Young Revolutionaries were simply disappointing. In Di Bradini 42, Pasarga knocked the Young Revolutionaries out once again. Di Bradini 43 seemed to be different though, as Abanhfleft somehow made it all the way to the final, but then the Young Revolutionaries' luck caught up with them and they were beaten by Mapletish in the final by a single goal. Will Di Bradini 44 finally be the tournament where Abanhfleft's youngsters win it all something? Anything? There's only one way to find out...

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: White (home), red and blue (away)
Style modifier: +3.5
Formation: 4-2-3-1 (This will be standard unless I change it through RPs)
Head coach: Owen Bevan (59 y/o, Wales)

STARTERS
GK: Guildenstern CARDEW 20 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image, male, vice-captain
Guildenstern Cardew is the younger brother of former Panem striker Silvia Cardew. After Panem was enveloped by a mysterious Catastrophic Termination Event (or CTE), the Cardews eventually managed to wind up on the shores of the Fhulghamous Peninsula Colony along with a large number of their fellow Panemian nationals. Guildenstern was eventually picked up by Besanza Emeralds FC of the Fhulghamousian Premier League. Guildenstern decided to emulate his Panemian idol Walnut Durant and become a goalkeeper even though his sister Silvia is a striker. Guildenstern is also very close friends with Marius Rosenkrantz the soccer player (because of course they would be friends) but it looks like Guildenstern might have something more than just friendship in his eyes and heart for Marius...

RB: Georgine BAUM 20 y/o, Pascal Mashu Image (Kita-Hinode), female
Another player with foreign roots playing for the Democratic Republic. This time, Georgine's parents are immigrants, or rather expats, from Pridnestrovia, who escaped the country after her father said a few things that were not to President Field Marshal Stepan Stepanenko's liking. Georgine is more than likely to play for Abanhfleft in the future, but stranger things have happened. Arkadia Zubarenko did end up playing for Pridnestrovia after years in Abanhfleft's youth teams. Baum has always played on the left before so seeing her on the right side this time could be a bit of a shock for her but apparently people trust Georgine to hit the ground running after being thrown off the deep end, so....

RCB: Brooke AUGUSTYN 21 y/o, Eielo Sunlight Women Image, female
Brooke is a decent enough defender, which is just about what would be expected for someone personally approached by Godric Wexler himself. Brooke could be a future Amanda Warren (meaning that she could become one of the best fullbacks in the country), or she could be a future Deborah McManaman (who had the potential to become one of the best fullbacks in the country but couldn't really achieve it due to injuries and eventual lack of game time). It's still up in the air. The fact that Arsenal released Brooke, thus allowing her to go to Eielo as a free agent, seems to suggest that she's on her way to becoming a McManaman but the fact that she's also been called back to the Di Bradini squad also seems to suggest that she could still break out and become a star, a star that Arsenal and Godric Wexler will regret letting go so easily.

LCB: Christy SHEPLEY 21 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image, female
At 6 feet 2 inches, Christy is already one of the tallest under-21 Fleftic central defenders ever in the Democratic Republic and its sphere of influence. Coupled with a supernatural defensive ability, it's a wonder why she's still on the bench and not starting, until one realizes that Christy is quite the thin and willowy girl. She's a good defender and good in aerial and dead-ball situations, there's no doubt about that, but she has to bulk up and get stronger if she is to become one of Abanhfleft's best defenders. She is finally elevated to the starting eleven following Miranda Sullins' graduation to the senior team.

LB: Lauree McATEER 20 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women Image (Fhulghamous Peninsula, playing the Fleftic Ladies' Premier League), female
Lauree's first international football experience was sitting on the bench of the Fleftic under-15 team during their debut appearance in the 9th Under-15 World Cup in Schottia. Although she's Port Thimpodopoulos born and bred, Lauree is being given a chance to show that she can represent the blue, orange, and green, and while she is a good and quick defender, it looks as if she's going to be warming the Fleftic bench once again. She could end up representing the Fhulghamous Peninsula when she reaches the senior level, but stranger things have happened, and there could be a national team coach out there who sees what s/he wants in Lauree and call her up.

RM: SIBUSIZWE Kiggwancha 18 y/o, Athletic Motonou Image, female
SIbusizwe's greatest strength lies in the fact that she can win the ball in midfield more times than not. Of course, most of this is against girls and boys on or nearly the same age as she is, but when she turned out for Athletic Motonou's senior side in the last few matchdays of the Ladies' Third Division season (with the title already wrapped up for Motonou) Sibusizwe looked capable of doing much the same thing against players who were much older and much more experienced than her. Sibusizwe won't have to do that against older and experienced players from other national teams just yet, but she will have to do it against her fellow under-18s and now under-21s from other countries starting from this tournament.

LM: Dario FRIGO 18 y/o, Bohuda United Image, male
One thing that can be said of Dario Frigo is that he appears to have been born with glue on his feet as there has never been a reported instance in which this young half-Oontaznik player playing for Bohuda United ever lost the ball when it was at his feet. Not even the older and more experienced players plying their trade in Liga Ikalawa could take the ball from Dario when he turned out for the senior side for a game or two without sliding in for the tackle and drawing a card in the process, both yellow and red. And it's not just his sticky feet that is Dario's greatest asset in playing football. He also has an eye for taking the ball over the midfield and straight into the attacking third, jumpstarting attacks in the process. The Young Revolutionaries will look to benefit from this greatly.

RW: Elene LINER 20 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies Image
Even at her young age, Elene already has the look of a future fantastic keeper. Well, what else can be said about the Sarvusdalamoive Football Academy, which has turned out great Fleftic keepers like Maksim Varamoninov and Victoria Carter? Unfortunately, she's slipped down the pecking order, but only because Brook Arzate deserves the chance to start this time. She had a lot to make up for after that emotionally devastating penalty shootout loss against Schottia in the 9th Under-15 World Cup and she ended up not having the mental strength to get over the disappointment of the shootout so she decided to become a striker instead. This way she hopes to emulate some of Abanhfleft's star forwards like Matthew Cave and Ruud Akinfenyor who started off as goalkeepers and then decided to make the move up to the top of the pitch.

CAM: Prudence WOODWARD 20 y/o, Duhblakk Aztecs Image
Prudence Woodward is the third and final player of Panemian descent to represent the blue, orange, and green for the Sporting World Cup. She is the younger sister of Julius Woodward and her future appears to be in central attacking midfield. Prudence is already displaying a taste for clever through-balls and occupying pockets of space in which she could create chances and even score a few goals herself. Prudence has also been rumored to be displaying more than just friendly attention and camaraderie with the team's resident lesbian Poppaea Fleet-Street but that's hardly important to the conversation. But although nothing has been confirmed yet, it could be said that it won't be much of a surprise if Prudence came out and admitted that she has a relationship with Poppaea. Also already a mother after an argument with Prudence led to a one-night stand with fellow under-18 teammate Prince William Luckless.

LW: Claudia ROOS 21 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image (Pridnestrovia) on loan from Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image, female, captain
They once said that Claudia is the player on the under-15 team who is most likely to end up representing another nation once she hits the senior level. Abanhfleft is enjoying Claudia's services while she's still with the team, as she is already turning into a future star winger, what with her pace, crossing ability, and incisive runs into the box. But with Claudia's inclusion into the Independents Cup squad (albeit playing as a fullback to supposedly improve the defensive side of her game), it looks like Abanhfleft has finally secured her for a future spot in the women's national team.

ST: Kelly McGINNIS 20 y/o, Hoventon & Corlington Town Image (Mercedini), female, vice-captain
The undisputed star of the under-18 team is now part of the under-21 team as well. Kelly McGinnis could very well be the next Chelsea Stuart. Lord knows she's got the raw talent in her veins and her feet. Her only problem is in getting out of Besanza to continue her development and make sure that it's on the right track to actually making her the next Chelsea Stuart. Kelly wants to move abroad to develop herself in a world-class side, and she believes that the Sporting World Cup is her way to gaining that attention and getting that move abroad. She did get that sought-after move, but not exactly to where she expected: she's on loan to Mercedini where she hopes she can make an impact.

RESERVES (All players are members of their league team's youth squads unless otherwise noted)
GK: Bronwyn CHURCHILL 20 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image, female
Bronwyn is the daughter of Rosenpfelblatz City's new manager Joseph "Joe" Churchill, one of the most decorated managers in the sport within the Fleftic sphere of influence. Bronwyn came with her dad to Rosenpfelblatz and immediately settled in well with the Lady Sky Blues' academy. She is a traditional keeper who prefers to keep close to goal and catch or slap away shots from that position, although she is learning to become a more athletic keeper now that she's training with the likes of Yannie Redborne, Marfa Kirilenko, and Blaze Chrzanowska. It should be noted that Joe Churchill would have liked it more if his daughter had not wanted to be a goalkeeper, but at least he as a father won't worry about where she's been before, during, and after training because they're always in close proximity to each other.

GK: Roy RINEY 19 y/o, New Llama Capitals Image (Super-Llamaland), male
Now this is probably a sight that you didn't expect to see; a 17-year-old among a bunch of mostly twenty-years-plus players with the odd teenager here and there. Roy is the youngest member of Ranulph Bustamante's experimental Independents Cup squad but not by a big margin as the next-youngest player to him is fellow reserve goalkeeper Guildenstern Cardew. Usually, people would be questioning the inclusion of such a young player in a representative football team but once Ranulph Bustamante took over managing Abanhfleft and unearthed such gems as Robin Riedewald and Tanaka Okamoto, no one questions his decisions anymore. Besides, Riney must have done something right for Ranulph to even consider calling him up, even if it is just for the Independents Cup. Not that Ranulph thinks that the Independents Cup is a nothing trophy; it's still a trophy after all for those nations who aren't affiliated with the Big Three regions of Esportiva, Rushmore, and Atlantian Oceania.

DF: Wilton KABA 18 y/o, Sfaxspor Image (Fhulghamous Peninsula), male
Ball-winner and ball-breaker, or so his fellow academy mates in Sfaxspor say. He has an incredible leap for someone who's 5 foot 8, and balls find themselves naturally gravitating to his forehead.

DF: Tiera WALRATH 19 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image, female
One quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won them the Youth Premier League title this season. Like Wilton Kaba beside her, Tiera's main purpose is to win balls inside the box and then kick it right out of the danger area. Accuracy needs a bit of work though.

DF: Tien GOODLETT 18 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image, female
The second quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won the Youth Premier League. Tien is more of an attacking fullback who likes to maraud further up the pitch and assist in the attack. She still gets back in defense more times than not but a particularly quick counterattack could still leave her stranded where she can be of no help to her fellow defenders.

MF: Mauro MAGNANELLI 21 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image, male
Mauro Magnanelli is good enough for tackling people to the ground, taking free kicks and little else. It doesn't mean that he can't improve his skills, abilities, and football knowledge. There's still time for Mauro to become more than just another one-dimensional player. After a good performance in the 3rd Sporting World Cup, Mauro will join the under-21 squad as a central defensive midfielder to replace the now-ineligible Lucjo Kleinmann.

MF: Derek NIXON 17 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image, male
Excellent midfield general in the making. Actually lucky enough to make it into Ceneisis' first team at just 16 years old in the previous season. Whether he stays there (the first team or Sporting Ceneisis itself, take your pick) is still another question entirely.

MF: Wallis WALLIAMS 19 y/o, Paulsen FC Image, male
Looks to be one of those hidden gems that keep popping up in the squads and youth academies of lower league teams and Premier League midtable teams. The question now is whether to keep him in Paulsen to develop or to throw him straight into the deep end of a top PL team.

MF: Sheila BECK 21 y/o, Keephall Valkyries Image, female
Technically, Sheila's a central midfielder, but because of her tendency to wander the entirety of the pitch, she could theoretically play in every midfield position and even down the flanks. Recently, Keephall has began playing her in the central attacking midfielder position, and while she has to remember that she doesn't have to come and defend as much as she used to, she has a knack for well-timed tackles and can never seem to be fouled. Sheila can set up attacks as well through passing play, but her best skill is winning the ball and then making that key through-ball.

FW: Amelie RUSEV 20 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image, female
Amelie Rusev is the best player on current Fleftic under-18 team after Gareth Williamson. At just 18 years old, she's already looking like the complete winger package. Not only is she both quick and light on her feet and strong in the air and during challenges, she is ambidextrous, able to use both feet to send in long balls and crosses into the box when she wants. With that added crossing ability, Amelie is already on her way to the first team of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies at such a tender age. Kasper Molak will surely look to make Amelie the successor to Raisa Korovina as the next Miss Ludogorets.

FW: Arkady "Arlie" ROZIER 21 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Image, male
Another Pridnestrovian player born in Abanhfleft who looks like he could be poached by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States, although that possibility looks more and more remote now that Ranulph Bustamante has apparently included Arlie in his plans if his inclusion into the Independents Cup squad is any indication. Arlie has serviceable hold-up play but questionable finishing and ball distribution skills. He's also a bit selfish, preferring to shoot the ball himself even if there is a teammate in a better scoring position. But he's just 18 years old. Surely he can learn how to improve himself and his technique, right? Right? Refused a new contract with The Redvale's Maris Rovers and is now back in Abanhfleft playing for Admiral Porcusces.

FW: Karamoko BAKAYOKO 17 y/o, Uranium City Radiation Image, male
Supposedly the best striker to ever come out of any Fleftic academy since Kevin Kelvin and Chelsea Stuart. How else can you explain the presence of the 14-year-old in previous Sporting World Cup and Di Bradini Cup squads? But what exactly makes him a good forward? Is it his silky smooth runs, his mad tekkers, or his unbelievable range from almost anywhere in the attacking half of the pitch? Or maybe all of it?

Home Away Third
Modifier: +1

Manager: Mór Császár, age 48
Assistant: Mezei Orbán, age 47

Keepers
GK: Szescõ Mezei, age 16, Hellinic Rouge
GK: Edina Szél, age 20, Club Stein-los (F)
GK: Borka Szekeres, age 20, CA Paulinthal (F)
With a bit of shake up in the keepers, there will be a good amount of competition for who will get the starting nod in between the woodwork for the Young Wanderers. Szekeres has to have the advantage having coming through the CAP academy that has produced Thorsten Gerber recently, with the hopes of this team that the young lady can follow in those footsteps with her great reflexes. Edina is a bit taller and stronger but she too has decent reflexes and could start if the brain trust sees fault in Borka's performances.

Defenders
LB/W: Deli Ács, age 19, Directus Image
LB: Carlo Iadanza, age 21, Galatica
CB: Kund Borbély, age 20, AC Holmenkollen Image
CB: Borbála Szôcs, age 16, Tanrısal (F)
CB: Oszkar Berec, age 21, Stein-los Turkish
CB: Laborc Szöllössy, age 20, Spartangrad Image
R/CB: Tabor Csikós, age 18, Spartangrad Image
RB: Raynaldo Puga Burgos, age 21, Santos Luega
Not a lot to see in this backline except a whole lot of potential that has yet to be fully realized by any of the members of the group. Obviously for those who are playing abroad, particuarly in the famous Euran league, they will be the more favored of the personell, but there is very little in an outstanding performer or talent among the group. The biggest compliment that this group can be given is that they look to be not as bad as the last few iterations and will hopefully not hinder the stronger groups of players in the more forward groups. If there is one player to keep an eye on, it will be Deli, looking to show off for his new teammates in Eura with his ability to play up and down the left hand side of the pitch.

Midfielders
RW: Juliska Müller, age 19, Stein-los Turkish (F)
RW: Erik Földessy, age 21, CA Paulinthal
D/MC: Szalyk Földessy, age 20, Samaj FC Image
MC: Poldi Szigety, age 21, Tanrısal
D/MC: Bod Joó, age 20, Baskita FC
A/MC: Mária Vöröss, age 18, Canterlot Royals Image (F)
LW: Becse Sultés, age 21, Baskita FC
LW: Etilka Szöllössy, age 20, Manechester City HC Image (F)
After a disappointing run in the Copa Rushmori, the brothers Földessy will be looking to make their family name far more proud here in the Eternal Empire, as they will have quite a bit of strength and pace between the two. It will be up to Szigety to be the linking lynchpin from defense to attack, while some would argue that the more naturally gifted Vöröss should be in that playmaker role to begin with, especially having made the move to the Equestrian States during the summer transfer window. Like much of this team, there is a bunch of potential talent in here but only the brothers have really made any true mark with their domestic team. While the DBC has traditionally seen future senior national team players blossom from the group, it is difficult to see any of these players outside the brothers cracking that national team pool. However what they lack in individual talent may gel together in a far stronger unit as a whole, which has often been the motus operandi for the Wanderers until as of late.

Strikers
ST: Júlia Müller, age 20, Cloudsdale Flyers Image (F)
ST: Oriel Villagómez Acuna, age 21, Santos Luega
ST: Éva Mezei, age 18, Club Stein-los (F)
ST: Gergo Sáry, age 18, Lunas FC
It appears that the future of Pasargan attack might be a bit light, as none of the quartet called into this team have quite shown to be the next Thor or Alexander Karpaty among the bunch. However all of them have a good amount of pace about, while Acuna will get the nod simply for having gotten some playing time with the team two years ago. Müller has the most experience and has quite a good head on her shoulders, so will be parterning the Santos striker at the top, while Sary could provide a good option off the bench should the team need a bit of push as the lad does have solid amount of strength to try and get an edge in against defenders. As for Mezei, well she is quick and can usually get into the right spots but not always at the right time, having been offside quite a bit during her time in the Youth League.
