Matchday Un
To open up the Qualifiers, the Carialus Comrades played their first game at home. Capital field was thunderous as the Comrades eased through a 2-0 victory over Stvoto Latoli. Quite frankly, the game was far more lopsided than the score suggested. It just took a while for the Comrades to regain their form after such a long period of rest. In fact, not a single player scored throughout the entire first half. The first half was rather dry, with both teams probing out each other. Kraus had a chance to score, but the line judge called the play offsides, much to the dismay of the crowd. Irmedheghi, for the Gold-Whites, also almost scored, but Boulos was able to punch the shot away. The second '45 finaly started off the score tallies as Dumont slipped in the box and gave the fans what they were looking for. The assist came from L'Hiver, who had drawn Ismail away, leaving an opening that Carialus cashed in on. Stvoto Latoli's defense continued to smother any other attempts after that. However, the Gold-Whites had a truly awful attack as they could barely get pass the Comrades' midfielders. Zhooheizhyu was able to run most of the pitch and get a shot at the net, but Boulos punched it away again. Clearly, Boulos was aiming for a clean sheet. Towards the end of the game, around the 86th minute, Kraus slipped into the box but was stopped by abd al Raziq. The official deemed it rough conduct and gave the Comrades a Penalty Kick. Kraus was lined up one on one versus the Gold-Whites star goal keeper, and captain, Lyu. Kraus aimed for the edge of the net. Lyu had done his research and guessed the right direction. Lyu tapped it away, but the ball hit the woodwork and bounced in, much to the bewilderment of the keeper. The game ended like that, 2-0.
