History:
Poplarkerr was originally called Magna and was founded in 1949 by former pilot and racing driver Karl Magna. He started making only racing cars. His first car was the brilliant Type A. The Type A won the Le Mans 24 hour race 3 years running. There are only 10 left in the world and 8 of those are in museums across the world. That means the 2 that aren’t in museums today are worth $2.25 million.
After this, Magna surprisingly didn’t build another racing car and moved on to the road car market. Three years were spent designing, building and testing Magna’s first road car, the Type B. In 1955 the Type B broke cover. It was expensive, but worth it as 100 were made and all of them were sold. Now only 2 are left and 1 is in a museum. The only other one is worth $2 million.
In 1958 Magna created its second road car, the Type C. This was the car that nearly killed Magna as a company. It was very unreliable even for the era in which it was built and it never sold well and as a result now they are worth $1 million each mainly because they are rare.
The Type D was a last hoorah for Magna. It was born in 1961. It was exclusive; they only made 5. It was expensive and it was beautiful. 1 is left in the world and that is in a museum. They were so expensive they actually saved Magna from going bust.
The Type E came next. Unveiled in 1962, it was a car for the masses. It sold very well and set Magna back on the right track.
The Type F really was Magna's very last car. It was a great car, but a recession in Loonaterian meant Magna couldn't mass produce it. They went bust as a result.
When Dmitri Jankovic took charge of Loonaterian he refounded Magna, renamed it Poplarkerr and placed Julara Manukala in charge. In 1989 Karl Magna had died aged 71, but now his company is stronger than ever.
