The Su-43 is a new revolution of the Su-35, which in itself already is a highly capable 4th generation fighter capable of posing a great risk to other 4th generation airframes such as the F-16 or F-15. But the new upgrades included in the Su-43 package introduce a host of modern avionics and electronic warfare systems, which turn this already in itself highly manuverable and dangerous airframe into a modern 4.5th generation aircraft capable of leveraging superior manuverability in addition to advanced avionics against its enemies, taking the best out of both worlds supermanuverability with cutting-edge avionics.

To allow for the Su-43 to become this capable airframe, multiple concept changes have been made to allow for the main improvements, such as the new engines. It features 2 of the new QZT-23 engines provided by Thalas, which create 8.000 kgf of dry thrust each. The new engines also improve the aircraft's onboard energy creation capabilities and improve its overall fuel efficiency, which left room for a reduction of its internal fuel tanks to create more internal volume for other upgrades and systems. One of the more important concept changes done, were made to its electronic brain and internal processors, which, using the more amble power supply, have been heavily modified, which increased the calculation and data processing power of the aircraft, which created a large basis for the addition of new capabilities and allowed the aircraft to effectively use the advanced avionics that give it its ranking as 4.5th gen aircraft.

The Su-43 features the highly advanced Thalas-ORA-30GaN AESA radar provided by Thalas and advanced AESA radar, giving it advanced offensive but also defensive capabilities as it is capable of jamming other radars. As well as being able to jam, it can be used to track multiple different targets mid-air and maintain a weapons lock at those, while also giving it the ability to swiftly change frequencies, hardening it against outside jamming. When it comes to detection, the Thalas-ORA-30GaN is rated at a detection range of roughly 100 kilometers against a target with an RCS of 0.1m, while operating at a wider field of view. hower the detection range of the radar increases or decreases depending on the target's RSC, the field of view, and the surroundings. In addition, it features the Nova-EOTD-22M Electro-Optical Distributed Aperture System, which includes IRST and infrared imaging capabilities, giving the Su-43 a powerful tool when it comes to tracking hostile infrared signatures and providing high-resolution images of these. Those sonser, are not just souly for the air to air realm, and can also be utilised in a ground reccon role for air strikes and to coodinate other support assets such as helicopters, and artillery.

Within its core, the Su-43's older fly-by-wire control system has been replaced by a new and innovative optical fiber fly-by-light control system. This system uses light signals sent through optical fiber to control the aircraft. The optical fiber features major improvements compared to the copper wiring, as the optical fiber is lighter in its weight and archives a much faster data transmission speed as well as an increased bandwith, while also being more resistant to EMPs and other electromagnatic attacks as the fiber does not absorb outside eletromagnetic pulses. In addition, the Su-43 features a total of 8 electronic warfare receivers located across the airframe, which gather intelligence on the local emittions and allow it to utilize the jamming function of its radar and the Nova-BEE-981 electronic countermeasures system more effectively, while also giving it the ability to idepdentenly perform SEAD missions with anti-radiation missiles, in which, given their manuverability they can also serve as their own fighter escorts.

While the Su-43 includes a host of different systems and sensors, it is also capable of networking with other Su-43s or Su-35s, but also with completely different aircraft such as 5th gens, AWACS, various drones, or airborne command and control aircraft. This does not just give the Su-43 more access to information from external sources and their sensors, but also allows it to more effectively communicate strategies and strikes with those, under the security of their strong encryption and frequency hopping technology, securing its data link while having easy communication. With all of those capabilities and linking features, as well as its own sensors, the Su-43 has a wide range of data to draw from, which, using its sensor fusion capabilities, presents the pilot with a simplified version of the battlespace, this under a more pilot-friendly UI pressented by the helmet mounted display. The Su-43 is equipped with multiple AIs and algorithms within its software that conduct automatic damage assessment and warming of the aircraft, automatically adjust the aircraft and its overall controls to compensate for damages or component issues, and decrease stress on the pilot to allow him to focus more on the skies around him.

The Su-41 Super Frogthight, an aircraft designed as a dedicated ground attack platform that has been designed to address the EFU's need for a modern and more survivable aircraft that can provide direct Close Air Support to troops on the ground. Previously, the EFU has been a fairly big user of the old Soviet Su-25, which, while being a fairly reliable and capable aircraft in its own regard, issues has been plauging the fleet, the age and quality of the avionics employed on it, and the issues of sourcing the older spare parts needed for the aircraft. One of the most important issues that has been faced by it hower, was the issue of integration for the aircraft, as it lacked the capability of fitting newer and more advanced A2G and A2A systems developed by the EFU over time, and the survivability issues due to MANPADS, both of which more intense issues frequently encountered during attack sorties. And so the EFU decided to develop a new aircraft, one that would be based on the experiences learned by the Su-25 and also incorporate the insights and issues of such ground attack platforms learned during the US campaign in Iraq. The 2003 war in Iraq was one of the major factors that influenced the development of the Su-41, as it moved the topics of Friend or Foe identification and network-centric warfare into the center stage alongside to the topic of survivability against shorter-range threats, such as IR-guided MANPADS or short-range SAMs.

The Su-41s main frame is made up out of an advanced composite mixture that uses carbitanium as the structure material, turning it into an airframe very resistant to external conditions. It comes equipped with two of the J-11 low-bypass turbofan engines, which collectively provide 10,000 kgf of thrust, propelling the aircraft to a top speed of Mach-0.73 at a low flight altitude. Those turbofans provide a slightly better thrust compared to the previously used turbojets of the Su-25 while also providing a much better fuel economy, which allowed some of the internal fuel space to be replaced with emtpy space, which has been used to fit in additional avionics and computer systems. As a measure to increase survivability, both engines have been outfitted with titanium around their lower and side sourfaces to increase the resistance of both engines against fragmentation by SAM and MANPAD missiles. The fuel tanks of the aircraft have been filled with a spongelike filler material that has been designed and tested to slow down the amount of fuel that leaves the tanks in case of external damage, while the fuel storages are designed into four separate compartments that have an independent and close-able connection to each other to once again limit the fuel loss in case of external damage.

To increase its survivability, the construction of the aiframe itself includes some efforts to reduce its RCS to decrease detectability over longer ranges. One of the major changes done are the vertical stabilizers, which have been angled downwards to decrease the return from those, a common feature also seen on all 5th generation fighers. Additionally, its wing has been designed to fuse with the center fuselage of the aircraf, which, while reducing its radar return, also increases its lift performance. And lastly, the careful choice of angles and design, 90 degree angles and other high-return ones have been avoided wherever possible, and similarly, the air intakes and engines have been built closer to the fuselage and wings to reduce the frontal radar return.

The Su-41 is capable of flying at very low altitudes on a stable trijectory, supported by the AFCaGCAS, which uses data gathered via multiple sensors mounted onto the aircraft's nose and wings, providing the core system with a rough altitude estimate for the aircraft in relation to the ground. Then, while also using information gathered by the Thalas supplies TGF-23GaN AESA radar, it also creates a SAR imaging map of the ground in front of it. Via data fusion, all of this information is then combined into an area picture; a simplified version of it is then sent to the pilot and displayed via the helmet-mounted display, while a more detailed and complex version is supplied to the CPU of the AFCaGCAS, which then automatically adjusts the aircraft to prevent ground colision. As an important security measure, in case of failure, the commands given by AFCaGCAS can be quickly overwritten and voided by a trained pilot, creating a second layer of security in case of a catastrophic machine failure.

The compared to other jets slow speed of Mach-0.73 of the Su-41 allows for easier flight stabilization and better reaction ability to changes in altitude or challenges in front. This allowed it to be easily utilized in more challenging regions, as tested within various mountain chains where it was able to perform safe maneuver missions in between the individual mountains. Additionally, this slower speed gives the aircraft more precision when engaging targets with its 30mm main gun, while also giving it more time to react to targets that appear or are detected by the aircraft's various sensors. Once detected, the target is included as part of the ground picture projected onto the pilot's helmet, where they are marked depending on whether they have been identified as either a friendly or hostile. Once that happens, the aircraft is able to utilize multiple means of engagement, either fire and forget weapons that attack those targets automatically, IR-guided ones that use the Red Eye targeting laser typically employed against moving targets, or GPS-guided bombs and standoff weapons. With its wide range of compatable payloads, it is capable of not just attacking targets directly but also from greater distances, putting it out of range for shorter-ranged systems. Its data link capabilities play into this capability, allowing the Su-41 to operate as the shooter in an organized kill chain while external systems acquire and find targets for it to engage. Since survivalbility was one of the major concerns, the Su-41 has been outfitted with a new and advanced Integrated Defense Suit, which manages the multiple self-defense mechanisms of the aircraft under one single centralized command. The IDS system incorporates an advanced data fusion system that connects a 360-degree IR missile approach warning system and a radar targeting receiver to a centralized Situational assessment computer. Based on the information gathered, it then generates a list of either manual or automatic responses to deal with attacks on the aircraft and launch a quick and decisive response to maintain operational security. If a threat gets classified as an IR-guided one, the ISD can make the choice between deploying flares safly stored within the aircraft or by using its 2 DIRCM systems, which then use a beam of directed energy to blind the IR seaker of incomming missiles. The other option comes in action against incomming threats controlled via radar guidance, which are commonly either engaged via chaf or by the aircraft deploying one of its towed miniature decoys, which can be used in a passive and active mode to confuse radar guidance and distract missiles away from the aircraft itself. While the aircraft itself is capable of conducting EW to a limited extent, it usually just plays a second-spot role as a countermeasure, usually to assist one of the other efforts. All of these countermeasures come under the control of the IDS system, which uses an AI-assisted target recognition data base to then decide the best mean of intercption depending on the target type and th time until impact.

The Su-41 can carry a total payload of 4.4 tons spread across 11 pylons, which can each be outfitted with either 1 missile or bomb or 2 MALDs by using a dual railplug mounted onto the pylon. It can carry and utilize both air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, as well as bombs. It can be utilized via laser guidance or by a satellite navigation system. To further increase its operational ability, the Su-41 has been designed with the future in mind and thus outfitted with one of Thalases newest products, the Gods View UAVMCM which allows it to utilize conventional and loyal UAV wingmen, which, on an optional 2-seater version, can be commanded by a second co-pilot and weapons officer. Those drones can be used to increase the firepower potential of the aircraft, as they can be used to fly forward and use their sensors to gather intelligence and record strikes, sending back real-time, high-quality imagery to the aircraft, which allows it to assert the situation and conduct instant damage assessment to ensure a target has been eliminated. Additionally, those drones can also be used as additional strike or support assets, carrying either fuel to refuel the Su-41 on mission, conduct EW, or carry missiles and or bombs, thus serving as either a small escort platform or an additional strike asset. Those drones greatly increase the operational capability of each single aircraft; if multiple are combined, they can be used as forward reconnaissance assets while also playing the role of an EW supporter, refueling aircraft, escort, and carrying an additional strike package.
