Background: Over tis existence, Hammond Motors has established itself as an industry leader in the production of trucks, cargo ships, and various military and dual-use vehicles on truck platforms. It has also provided chassis for a range of other companies, including Allanean Arms and the Serene Power Company.

Our experience in producing these vehicles has made it possible for us to create an integrated support platform that can supply either civilian companies working in harsh environments with a range of their vehicle maintenance needs.

To do this, we have incorporated into our pre-existing BovidTM platform a folding handling crane as well as a preassembled, air-conditioned workshop compartment, equipped with lighting, tools, and parts storage enabling professionals to carry out field repairs to range of vehicles - either a battalion’s armored vehicles and trucks, or a civilian company’s vehicle fleet.

Technology: The MFW-2 incorporates a digitally-controlled hydraulic crane capable of lifting up to 3 tons of equipment (e.g., a tank engine), as well as a fully-enclosed workshop equipped with air conditioning, work tables, electric, electronic, and other tools, as well as a computer work station and two portable terminals to record the maintenance schedules carried out into a logistics monitoring system.

The MFW-2 includes all necessary equipment to carry out the following tasks. the following tasks:

  • Cleaning and maintenance of automobiles, armored vehicles, generators, and their components, including oil switches
  • Regular inspections of automobiles, armored vehicles, generators, and their components
  • Repair and maintenance on vehicle electrics and hydraulics, as well as basic electronic repairs
  • Arc welding
  • Charging and inspections of vehicle and equipment batteries

Armor and protection The Mobile Field Workshop is equipped with a variety of protections As standard, the rear of the vehicle - where the actual bath is housed - is protected to protect from shrapnel and small arms fire up to 5.45 mm, and is NBC-protected. (An additional armor upgrade package is available for key areas of the vehicle). As usual, a hatch and swivel mount is placed on the driver’s cabin, for a co-driver’s machine gun to be installed.

This armor and weapons mount is intended to protect personnel rom ambushes and mortar attacks while they are bathing or in transit. It does not turn the MFW-2 into a tactical vehicle. The usual liability exceptions for combat damage apply and we will absolutely not perform any warranty service on any damage which results from attempting to use the MFW-2 as a tactical vehicle.
