The SIR Family
The Standard Infantry Rifle program was started following an urgent need for modern weapons for the KRA, after extensive testing we are pleased to introduce the next generation of economical and effective infantry small arms. Chambered in a proprietary 6x49mm cartridge that bridges the gap between full and intermediate power cartridges, the SIR can accurately and effectively deliver high power performance with minimal recoil and weight.
The Cartridge suffers minimal bullet drop up to 500 meters, greatly extending an infantryman's effective reach, with the weight and recoil of a conventional assault rifle. The SIR remains easy to control, even in fully automatic fire, and the bullpup configuration makes it very effective in CQB and easy to handle in tight quarters such as the interiors of APCs and aircraft. Instead of a conventional selector switch, the SIR uses a double-crescent trigger, with the upper crescent firing single shots and the lower firing automatic shots. All variants feature a short-stroke piston mechanism, a semi-free floating barrel and detachable magazine system with either 10 or 30 round magazines available. All variants also include a sight rail for aftermarket optics and a modular barrel and hand-guard system to allow easy modification and repair with basic facilities.
SIR-1
The original iteration of the SIR family, the SIR-1 features hand machined components and lightweight polymer composite furniture that proved too expensive for large scale production. A heavy barrel version is also available for squad level fire support and marksman duties, featuring a lengthened, thick walled barrel optimized for sustained fire and a collapsible bipod.
SIR-2
Currently being issued as the standard service weapon in the Kerberos Regular Army, the SIR-2 features polymer furniture.
SIR-2 HB
Designed for squad level fire support and marksman duties, featuring a lengthened, thick walled barrel optimized for sustained fire and a collapsible bipod.
SIR Commando
A carbine version of the standard SIR-2, featuring a short barrel for CQB and security operations and modified hand-guard, it has seen considerable popularity among vehicle crews, special forces and police units.
SIR-2-40
A standard SIR-2 equipped with a single shot grenade launcher based on the GP-25, firing the same caseless 40mm grenade.
SIR-2-23
Originally produced for the Ishtar Reaction Forces, the SIR-2-23 features a custom lengthened barrel and a underbarrel pump-action launcher chambered in 23×75mmR. The launcher is fitted with a three round magazine and can carry a 4th round in the chamber, and can fire a wide range of ammunition, including buckshot, flashbang, teargas, baton and anti-vehicle slugs.
National Armories Sportsman
A semi-automatic, civilian version of the SIR-1, designed for hunting and target shooting, and featuring hardwood furniture and a lightweight lengthened barrel.
