Overview
The Manuk P-16 "Garuda" (Caksuragan: ꧋ꦩꦤꦸꦏ꧀ꦥꦼ33 ꦒꦫꦸꦣ; Manuk Pe-33 Garudha) is an advanced multi-role combat aircraft developed and produced by the Manuk Air and Space Corporation of Cakshu-Raga, developed in collaboration with Xuanlong Aerospace Industries as a modern and capable replacement for ageing fleets of fourth-generation fighters worldwide. For only $36.4 million dollars, the P-16 provides highly advanced, fifth=generation combat capabilities in for affordable price.
The design of the Garuda includes a delta wing with canards and the secondary propulsion directional control nozzles to provide excellent speed and turning performance, creating a multi-role aircraft with exceptional maneuverability. The core of the Garuda is an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar by Citra Systems that allows for greater situational awareness, flexibility and quicker all-weather targeting, a suite of highly advanced avionics systems including multi-spectral sensors capable of providing omnidirectional coverage.
Operational capabilities are enhanced through an advanced communications suite, enabling it to datalink with other friendly platforms in service such as airborne early-warning aircraft. The aircraft's aforementioned electro-optic sensors provide 360-degree coverage for the pilot along with a sensor fusion system combining the radar signal with the IR image allow for maximum situational awareness.
The Garuda is designed to be stealthier than other similarly-priced fighters, with various features to reduce its radar-cross section. These includes chimes on its forebody, pronounced wing-body blending, and composite materials that will give it an edge over the traditional fourth-generation fighter. Currently, 42 units are in service with the Royal Cakshu-Raga Defense Forces and export customers for the fighters are being sought.
