This (relatively) non-lethal weapon is an anti-aircraft/missile weapons system that uses a 100 Watt beam that is able to blind ocular organs or electro-optical sensors from up to 1,000 kilometres away (as long as stuff like buildings, mountains or the curvature of the Earth don’t get in the way).
You can mount it on a the back of a truck, a specially modified tank, a ship, a ground installation or even a big plane (around about the size of 747 or similar platforms), and depending on your space program you can it put it on space platforms and shuttles, really the possibilities for where you can install this unit are quite lengthy.

For power requirements it’s powered by this (with the help of some helpers a oil drum sized device is hefted before you), a Dazhbog-class Miniature Nuclear Generator. With this as the power source of the Rote-Augen VDLS you can have it continuously firing for a month before replacement fuel is needed (hell you would probably have to replace it’s lens before that), but if for whatever reason you are anti-nuclear we can ship it without the Dazhbog and modify it for your requested power source.

For targeting the Rote-Augen comes with a complimentary radar station and a link to our Chernobog Global Navigation Satellite System (but can be modified for use along your already present radar systems or Global Satellite System) for the tracking and engaging of targets up to 1,000 kilometres away (well tracking anyway, but once it’s line of sight you best believe someone is losing their eyes) within seconds. Along with that this system is compatible with AWAC and UAV link up, thus improving it’s chances of successful engagement of targets.

Now with that all said and done I do get the distinct impression that your not the kind of nation that likes permanently crippling pilots at thousands of feet in the air (and trust me once this beam connects with someone’s eye it’s going to be permanent), but fret not this puppy is still equally good at blinding electro-optical sensors. Whether it be a UAV, the seeker of a missile or a low orbit satellite, one sweep of the laser will burn through a electro-optical sensor within half a second, thus degrading it to the point of uselessness.

And as a note you can use it against ground and water based targets but the main purpose of the VDLS is for anti-air purposes.
