The Loddhist Armed Forces is looking to purchase IFVs, to replace the large number of BTR-70s and BMP-3s still in service. Following a cost analysis, it was determined that the strength of the Loddhist rouble on international markets meant it is more viable to import such a vehicle than to produce it domestically. A replacement vehicle is likely to be ordered in significant quantities (several tens of thousands), which must have the following characteristics:
Strong survivability under medium calibre (20-45mm) fire
Modern APS systems capable of defending against advanced ATGMs
Capacity to carry 6 passengers or more
Good off-road performance, with speeds in excess of 50 km/h
An operational range in excess of 500km
A strong secondary armaments array
A reasonable price is also expected, however, in the wake of the recent transition from a conscript military to a (very large) volunteer-only defence force, quality will be prioritised over cost to some extent.
