]Background: Given a renewed interest in dangerous game hunting in several nations that are trade partners of Allanea, and an increase of attacks by hostile megafauna in others, Took Outfitters has decided to come up with a gun that could bring the most modern technology to those interested in confronting the largest land animals.
We have taken the venerable AR15 platform and upscaled it substantially, creating a gun capable of taking the .458 Winchester Magnum cartridge - and capable of sufficient recoil reduction to enable a second follow-up shot on that charging rhinoceros or hippo. The cartridge has sufficient stopping power to be even used in a light antimaterial rifle application if you are a tactical operative - or if you encounter some unsavory characters during your hunt (we all know that dangerous game is often found in dangerous parts of the world).
The gun is available in a traditional blued steel and wood furniture styling, as well as a ‘tactical’ styling more common to AR15s. It comes with railing to install a scope, as well as a bayonet lug and bottom rail for a sight (the tactical version has even more rails), and a bayonet lug which may come in useful for our institutional customers. As standard, the gun is fitted with a pair of sling swivels to aid in your shooting.
The gun is available in other cartridges as well, including the .300 Win Mag and the .416 Rigby. Both metal and polymer magazines are also available.
Media quotes: “The rifle is quite hefty - but with a magazine capacity over twice that of its bolt-action competitors, and lighter recoil, I think that’s more than worth it.” ~ David Morgan, Firepower Magazine of Liberty-City
“I have shot the .300 WM version. It is precise and comfortable to use.” ~ Steve Gaines, Liberty Times, product review section.
“If you’re going to be hunting dangerous game, you need this gun. When your rifle is the only thing between you and an angry three-thousand-pound animal, you’ll thank me for writing this.” - Henry Thompson, The Hunter’s Friend Magazine.
