Description: The ]Hagen class is a detonator / counterdisarming device intended to e used by special operations forces and specially-trained combat engineers and reconnaissance troops. That is to say, it is meant to either set off a much larger explosive or prevent such an explosive from being removed (as a counterdisarming device).
Two ways exist to control the Hagen SPD - either by using one of the switches on its side (which provides only crude selection between remote detonation, detonator, and anti-train modes) and by plugging it in to a Minefield Management Computer by means of its standard jack. In any event, once the safety is removed, the Hagen can no longer be reprogrammed and will arm itself within five minutes.
The detonator may, first of all, be set off remotely, either by means of a radio-detonation antenna plugged into the standard jack on its side, or by means of a regular SIM card plugged into one’s military encrypted comms network or even into the enemy’s civilian cellphone network if one so desires. Alternately, a timed detonation can be set at any point within the next 30 days from activation.
A more important method of using the device is by using its integral tilt and movement sensors. These will detonate if the device is handled or moved in any way. This allows it to be used either as an anti-handling / disarming device for larger explosives (attach it to the larger explosive and anyone trying to move it will set off the entire thing) or a demolitions device for enemy vehicles or even ship (attach it to the underside of an automobile or hide it within the fuel tank of a train or ship alongside with an explosive or thermite charge and as soon as the vehicle gets moving, it will trigger the bomb).
In anti-train move, the SPD, alongside with an explosive charge, is buried within a railroad surface. A passing train sets off a vibration sensor, and the device detonates several seconds later, by which time at least one of the railcars had passed over the bomb, making the damage to the train far more devastating.
In brief, the Hagen SPD is a versatile, concealable, advanced demolitions device, however its advanced features recommend it primarily for use by technically skilled specialist personnel.
