Background: Military men, rescue and construction crews and oil industry personnel work extremely hard. It is not a secret to anybody that these are high-stress, high-effort jobs which often require personnel to work 12, 24, or even more hours in a row, in harsh environments and without an opportunity to return to their homes for a shower, much less a proper bath. All too often, employers and military organizations compromise on the welfare of their men for budget reasons, or out of a misplaced belief that such a compromise would breed ‘toughness’. In such workplaces, what we often see is a line of tiny, uncomfortable stalls in a communal shower. We at Hammond Motors offer something better.
The wet-steam bath, also known as a ‘wet sauna’, provides a range of health benefits for persons working in harsh environments, including, beyond the regular benefits of regular bathing (hopefully, there’s no need to elaborate on those!) an improvement in skin health, stress relief, and a reduction in stress-related illnesses and nervous system disorders and an improvement in overall respiratory system health. It is used in both hot and cold climates, though in cold climates it is obviously more popular.
We have created a vehicle that carries a small bathing facility on a standard Hammond Motors Bovid truck. An onboard water container and heater allows up to 4 hours of independent operation (that’s to say, up to allowing up to an entire infantry company to take turns in the sauna at reasonable intervals) and an external water or container can be connected to extend the operations period.

Armor and protection It would not be an Armored Mobile Sauna if it were not equipped with a range of protections. As standard, the rear of the vehicle - where the actual bath is housed - is protected to protect from shrapnel and small arms fire up to 5.45 mm, and is NBC-protected. (An additional armor upgrade package is available for key areas of the vehicle). As usual, a hatch and swivel mount is placed on the driver’s cabin, for a co-driver’s machine gun to be installed.
This armor and weapons mount is intended to protect personnel rom ambushes and mortar attacks while they are bathing or in transit. It does not turn the Armored Mobile Sauna into a tactical vehicle. The usual liability exceptions for combat damage apply and we will absolutely not perform any warranty service on any damage which results from attempting to use the Armored Mobile Sauna as a tactical vehicle.
