Background: Over the years, the Serene Power Company has provided a range of clean energy solutions, home appliances, and home security solutions - from reconnaissance drones to refrigerators, we have done it all. Now we are giving you an opportunity to combine three functions, all in one - a vacuum cleaner, mop, and mobile sentry tunnel for your home, in the form of the Gunba.

The Gunba is nothing more or less than a vacuum cleaner / washer robot with a small weapons turret at the top, which is a derivative of the Talos home defense sentry turret. While the turret, of course, makes it difficult for the Gunba to clean in restricted areas such as under beds or cupboards (and we recommend combining the Gunba with a more conventional vacuum cleaner), obviously many people would argue that providing the user with a home security option is worth that minor inconvenience.

The Gunba is designed with IP68 protection in mind. It is however not intended to be used in HAZMAT environments, nor to survive direct impacts of explosions or small arms fire. It is not a military weapon, but rather intended to be used by individuals, companies, and law enforcement agencies to protect their homes, offices, and other facilities in peacetime and civil unrest situations.

The device be controlled either from an airgapped computer system, or, if you so desire, through a secure Internet connection. It can even be programmed to operate autonomously.

If necessary, Gunba can also mount less-lethal weapons, such as tear gas dispensers, water cannon, tazers, or other similar devices. It can also be adapted to use airsoft or paintball guns for sporting events.

The Serene Power Company is not responsible from any damage, injuries, or loss or life arising from improper use of the Gunba. The Gunba should not be switched to a permissive firing mode in any context in which innocent civilians are present. Please consult the table below and the laws in your country before attempting to install or use Tier 4 Home Defense Automation Systems.

Home Defense Automation Systems (HDAS) differ in the levels of lethality and the level of threats they are supposed to contend with. Below is a basic ranking of HDAS systems. Some jurisdictions allow only Tier 1 systems, while in some (for example, in Allanea), Tier 4 HDAS systems are legal.

Tier 1: Alarms and documenting only. This tier includes CCTV cameras, sensors (such as proximity and vibration sensors, volumetric sensors, IR sensors, etc.) and alarms (both audiovisual alarms, and systems that will automatically alert local authorities and/or the security company that protects your home or facility).

Tier 2: Less-lethal means. This tier includes CS and pepper spray dispensers, water cannon, paint markers, smell markers and electric shock arrays, all of these being systems designed to deter an intruder with minimal chance of long-term injury.

Tier 3: Lethal (man-in-the-loop) means. This tier includes turret-based remote controlled weaponry, designed to be controlled by the building owner from a safe room or a remote facility. The user is responsible for utilizing these weapons in compliance with local laws governing the defense of self and property. Many jurisdictions will allow man-in-the-loop weaponry, but exclude autonomous systems.

Tier 4: Surprisingly, autonomous systems have existed for many centuries. Trap-activated shotguns and punt guns, bear traps, and the like have been used by homeowners for generations, though they have recently been prohibited in some jurisdictions. This tier includes also the use of automated weapons systems. These are essentially the same weapons as included in Tier 3, but with the option for automated target tracking and engagement. Facial recognition and gait recognition software can be used to exclude specific individuals or pets (such as the rabbit used for scale in the illustration) from being targeted, however users must be aware that it is not foolproof. It is also possible to restrict the system's ability to fire on individuals outside a specific sector of fire, either by hardware options (restricting the system's ability to rotate beyond a certain area) or software (in the case of the Gunba, this is of course almost entirely on a software level

Vacuum/washer: Despite being a home defense system, the Gunba is capable of being configured as either a vacuum, a washer, or for combined washer/vacuum action, by switching out either a dry dirt container, a water container, or a combined dirt/water tank, and attaching or detaching a mop and mopping pad. In this capacity Gunba can operate like any regular cleaning robot, moving back and forth at random to clean floors, or creating maps of rooms for ease of patrolling. Alternately it can be controlled from your smart home system, provided your smart home system is sufficiently secure.

It is doubtlessly of interest to our potential clients that in the mop configuration the Gunba can in fact mop up blood, however of course it a mop-up is not equivalent to a thorough bleaching.

Weapons system: As we can see, the device can carry a reasonably-sized firearm equipped with a sturdy rail. With information about the firearm entered into the device's software, it can then aim and fire the weapon at reasonable distances (the software is intended for operations at indoor ranges). Software has been developed for the use of a range of common pistols, submachineguns, and some carbines with the Gunba, as well as some tear gas projectors. We recommend the use of the M40 submachinegun which will certainly make an impression on your unwanted guests - but if you prefer, for instance, a pistol, it would be easy for you to use one instead.
