General
The P-400 Rakia (Heaven/Sky) is a blended wing body long range triple engined passenger and cargo airplane developed by Nachmerean Aerospace Industries and Schwerpunkt for Royal Nachmerean Airlines and the export market, as well as to be used as a base platform for military applications.
The Rakia utilizes the blended wing body design to offer extended range and economy while flying large numbers of passengers at unmatched levels of comfort. In addition it can be used as a base airframe for many other uses due to its wide internal cabin and long range/loiter ability.
Design
As mentioned the P-400 is a single deck, blended wing body design. The entire airframe is essentially a lift area, providing up to 20% improvement in range due to improved lift and reduced drag. In addition the shape allows for a relatively short fuselage aircraft to carry more fuel futher increasing range.
The Rakia can be laid out internally in various ways, with common ones being a 3 class long haul arrangement and a single class highly economical one. The 3 class arrangement offers 10 luxurious 1st class sleeper suits, 44 fully reclinable business class seats and 400 economy class seats. Due to the wide space offered in the blended wing body cabin, the P-400 carries more economy class seats then competitors while offering above average width and pitch of seats.
In the 3 class arrangement the P-400 offers first class passengers luxurious on board showers, and in all arrangements has spacious galleys and restrooms to make the flight easier for both crew and passengers. It also offers far wider aisles compared to most alternatives, to service it’s high number of passengers safely and quickly exiting through the 4 forward cabin doors (or in an emergency, through another 4 emergency hatches on the mid section and rear).
While due to it’s design windows are only available in the front area of the cabin, the use of digital displays to simulate windows to the rear gives passengers a relaxed flight experience.
For the flight and cabin crew the P-400 offers a single bed in the rear of the cockpit, and comfortable and private seating in key locations in the cabin.
The P-400 is powered by three high bypass three spool turbofans, with EEC control. The engines offer great reliability and fuel economy to compliment the airframes inherent aerodynamic efficiency.
The Rakia is equipped with an advanced fly by wire system needed to control it’s blended wing body design. The all glass cockpit features fully selectable touch screens as well as heads up displays for both pilot and copilot.
P-400VIP Monarch
TThe P-400VIP Monarch was developed as a head of state transport, with two aircraft ordered for the King and Prime Minister of Nachmere. It retains the design features of the P-400 airliner, but with a custom interior designed for flying a national leader, his staff and security as well as members of the press.
The cabin layout is naturally custom designed according to the wishes of the client, however the Nachmerean aircraft include a suite with private shower and office, communications room, large galley and a combined meeting room/dining hall, medical clinic, and sleeping suits for important guests and officials. For other staff, security and the accompanying members of the press business class seating in separate areas is available.
To fulfil the unique requirements of head of state transport and flying command center the Monarch is capable of integrating a complete package of military radio and satellite communications as well as command and control systems. In the Nachmerean aircraft this includes military VHF/UHF communications, encrypted satellite communications, BASTION II stations and strategic weapons command systems.
In addition to certain areas of the aircraft being protected against small arms fire, the Monarch is equipped with an advanced missile defense system. The system comprises an L-band radar and IR sensors for detecting incoming threats, flare and chaff dispensers and an automatic launch system for the countermeasures.
