For any given industry, if it's more valuable than its counterpart on the world market, you import. The reason you import is that having a larger regional market than the world market indicates that your goods are more expensive. In order to gain that 'edge' you open the market to cheaper foreign products. If your regional market is worth less than its counterpart on the world market, you export. Industries with negative values indicate that it is running a backlog of exports to the world market. Wealthy nations with highly valued currencies should focus on becoming net importers while younger, poorer nations should focus on exports until their populations get to 500 million or so, then focus on maximizing GDP growth.

Oil & Gas Contracts

Nobody will ever consume more oil than they produce. It's a safety measure to keep your nation from running out of oil altogether. However, you will never produce so much more oil than you consume to the point where you can sustainably sell it on the market or build up a vast supply overnight either. In fact, the surplus you make from oil production vs oil consumption is minuscule. This is to encourage the use of the international energy market. In this regional nation, we buy oil wholesale from sellers on the market and then use this supply to limit volatility in the energy markets and keep prices reasonable. If your oil market is nationalized or only partially nationalized, you can insert the revenue from this venture straight into your government budget revenue.

Just like you can import business products from your region or the world, you can also import agricultural products like wheat, sugar, etc. With manufactured goods, you can send raw materials out of your nation or region and have other nations or regions manufacture end products fo you.

International

Government Investments

Nations and/or Regions have the opportunity to take their parked surplus cash and invest it for the purposes of generating more revenue. In this case, I've elected to fund a Universal Healthcare System. When shifting money to any investment vehicle, you'll want to subtract it once from domestic spending to show that the money was shifted from one place to another. That way, everyone is on the same page and there is no room for stealing or cooking the books.

For this particular investment, you'll want to always account for the points in the market your government owns as well as the points in the market that change from everyday use. And you can invest in a market as small as a single industry (like basket weaving), something big like a whole market (business, manufacturing, or agriculture), or something huge from the world market.

Foreign Investment

A foreign investment takes place when a nation and/or region wants to invest in one of your investment vehicles. What they choose to invest in can inflate that market and its value. Every time you invest in yourself or someone else invests in you, your stocks will climb in value and total points in the market will expand. Depending on how you answer daily issues, you can either help to naturally raise or lower the value of that foreign stake.

Money Market

Nations and/or Regions can use their currency to buy yours in the hopes that they can sell it back to you for a profit. Your money market can be your best friend because it allows you to artificially prop up the value of your currency. If your exchange rate is .65 cents for every NS Dollar, that may make your exports cheap and competitive but your minimum wage and income brackets will be in the toilet. For every trillion purchased of your money market, remove a trillion from the money supply. Only use this tool sparingly as the goal shouldn't be to have the highest valued currency but, instead, to limit its volatility.

Domestic Credit Market

The domestic credit market counts for second-hand goods purchases. It can also be used for buying a residential property, an automobile, and monthly rent payments. The more debt that is carried over to the next cycle, the less there is left over for savings and investment.

When it comes to your international credit market, you have an unlimited amount of credit to distribute to foreign governments. They can request a particular line of available credit, you can calculate their interest rate based on how you calculate your own domestic consumer credit interest rate, and all you have to do from there is make sure that the revenue from each account is added to your government's domestic budget revenue. When it comes to combat, one thing is definitely a law of NS physics: Population, nations, regions, etc, cannot be destroyed. Having said that, you could always use your military RP over a chunk of uninhabited land (there's always uninhabited land when your world is literally expanding to accommodate your infinitely growing population) and stage your battles there. You can attack with one, two, or all three of your military units (and enlistees, if you keep track of them). Both the efficiency rates of you and your opponent definitely matter because that will be how a winner is determined. An efficiency level above 100% indicates that the particular unit can do what its normal counterpart can do plus what a percentage of a second unit could do. For example, if you send a unit of missiles (a unit being all of your missiles or whatever number you choose), and you have an efficiency rating of 120%, and your opponent has their missile efficiency at 100%, and you both had an equal amount of attackers and defenders, you would win the battle because you've overwhelmed their defenses by 20%. Because a battle even took place, you have to subtract 1 from your efficiency (because they will take on at least some damage). In this battle, your opponent has lost their defenders because they were overmatched by 20%. If you have lower efficiency levels (quality), you would need to make up for that with more military equipment (quantity).
