There are a few reasons.

1. Your currency is strong. 19 of your currency buys 49 and a half NS standard dollars.
2. Most of your unemployed are in the gulf between those that make the minimum wage and the top salaries of the poorest 10%.
3. Your levels of inflation, which your velocity of money softly indicates, collide with your strong public education sector.
4. Young nations go through economic growing pains.
"Economic growing pains" lol
Thanks!

The pleasure of doing business is all mine. Thank you.
NS stats are canon. We are not a copy of the United States of America, just a nation with American elements. The large star in the middle of our flag is to symbolize the executive nation as a uniting force while the crown above is to symbolize that this executive nation also has central banking powers. We are still a democratic republic, with a president, two houses of congress, and a judicial branch.

Due to the rapid expansion of our spaceprogram and the construction of half a dozen starships, Ambrossa is in trillions of dollars of debt. Therefore, I would like to request a long-term loan of the below specifications:

Nation Name: Ambrossa
Total Amount: 12,000,000,000,000 NS Standad Dollars to be paid back eventually. "Eventually", in this context, is defined as whenever I am able to pay it back without getting in debt again. Are these terms acceptable?

NS stats are canon. We are not a copy of the United States of America, just a nation with American elements. The large star in the middle of our flag is to symbolize the executive nation as a uniting force while the crown above is to symbolize that this executive nation also has central banking powers. We are still a democratic republic, with a president, two houses of congress, and a judicial branch.

Due to the sudden influx of members in my region, an economic health report will be delivered on the next earth day.

All metrices are calculated using NS Trends. On the 'Trends' screen, you'll see a button below that can measure your own region. Time is measured by setting one NS year = one Earth day. This report is subject to change from NS year to NS year (day to day) and at least some NS years won't have a report at all.
States may create and use their own currencies, but the Universal Treasury Note is the one and only official currency of the United States of Independence Hill and must legally be accepted everywhere within the United States of Independence Hill.

Because the report is focused on your nation, certain metrics can not be applied. In order to do a regional report, we'll need to know certain things like what your region's reserve currency is, which nation is considered a government and tax collector of the whole.

What does it all mean?

I'm all too happy to explain. Although your GDP is 14+ Trillion, you're saving and purchasing way under that. This is because your government is the biggest buyer and seller in your economy. Your government seems to command consumers to buy a very narrow, inexpensive basket of goods. Because your average consumer has very little economic freedom, they have extra money to spend but nothing to spend it on either because there's nothing to buy or because they're simply not allowed.

Your unemployment rate is high because there isn't enough consumer spending to create jobs.

Your minimum wage is low but the pain from it being where it is shielded by your government's strict economic laws.

Your housing is cheap because the materials are cheap. We're talking about a system with no safety standards or building codes, no electrical outlets or indoor plumbing, and the structures often let in the outside elements. These are shanty towns tightly packed together and built with any discarded material that can be found.

Your auto industry is almost non existent. Vehicles in your nation are extremely cheap because there are no safety standards. These vehicles are built with used lawn care machines and the husks of long forgotten cars. It is estimated that these vehicles are extremely dangerous to operate and get poor gas mileage.

Your rental costs are in the toilet because your nation's wealthy elite that work in the upper crust of government can purchase rows upon rows of shanty towns and the people who rent virtually have no upward mobility, making the occupation of landlording, whether done openly or secretly, very lucrative.

Hundreds of millions of people walk on dirt paths between the endless rows of shacks to get to where they need to go. They most likely make items in their backyards and sell them on several types of "main street," even though these are dirt paths the size of allyways.

Because there is very little that can be bought within your system outside of what your government mandates, not enough money is borrowed to get into any major trouble.
