What is a NSD in US dollars

I believe it's a 1:1 ratio.

First of all, I don't believe, that this topic belongs into NSG; it would be suited better in Gameplay. (Perhaps, a mod can move it? - EDIT: Whoever did, thanks a lot!)
Secondly, als TCE mentioned, the NSD is mostly, if not always, considered a "world currency" with a 1:1 exchange to the real-life U.S. dollar. Some players occasionally even refer to "USD", for Universal Standard Dollar, meaning the same as NSD.
It is not really a 'rule', but very common, if not practically universal practice among roleplayers on this site.

You might not be wrong, but I didn't really have an idea as to where this should belong - for sure not into the roleplay subforums, as this thread is entirely OOC. Gameplay seemed like the best solution to me, at least much rather than NSG. (And EDIT again - sure, I could have thought of GE&T ...)

This being said, I have a strong suspicion, that 1 NSD might equal 1.8302 NSG.

US Dollars are Monopoly Money, the United States is an imaginary place like Atlantis. The United States is regularly shown in famous comics like Pirate Man, or Super Jelly, but it does not exist in reality.

It's not an official currency with a set value or central bank, simply a convention that players follow for reasons of convenience, as described on the NSWiki. Economic statstics are also generated by the game that calculators can scrape and analyse, for example you can see yours here: http://www.broomdces.com/nseconomy/nati ... rial+Rifta But your mileage may vary on whether you want to be constrained by such statistics. Personally, I look on the NSD/USD as a helpful global reserve currency that is pegged to the RL US Dollar and is easily recognisable and therefore easy to use in international transactions without worrying about exchange rates between different made up currencies. EDIT 1: adjusted for inflation the value may in fact be US$1.30 for each NSD/USD. EDIT 2: I forgot, someone has made a National Currency Database.
