Ministry of Defence of Ikheria was seeking Airborne Early Warning Control airplanes with these characteristics:

• Minimum ferry radius: 8,000 km
• Minimum radar range: 250 km
• Can communicate using MilDTIS and use IGSNS national satellite-based navigation systems

User of these system is Ikheria Air Force, and quantities of these system is 15 unit. Reason for this are for replace old Beriev A-50 AEW&C aircrafts.

UPDATE 1: Another 10 planes is needed, and now, Ikheria was member of SETA.
UPDATE 2: Ikheria select E-13 Vanguard and E-33B Watchtower as replacement of Beriev A-50 AEW&C aircrafts, TENDER ENDED.

E-33B Watchtower

Overview

The E-33B Watchtower is a modern AEW&C platform that sees service in over a dozen foreign air forces. It is based on the airframe of a ETOPS-240 (Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards) certified Airbus A330-203 wide-body fly-by-wire aircraft that has a non-direct flying range of 16,668 km (9,000 nmi) that far exceeds the minimum ferry radius stated in the tender document. The primary mission system is a Synergy Electrodynamics E/APY-02(V) Watchkeeper L-band pulse Doppler look-up/look-down surviellance radar which can detect and identify non-cooperative targets out to 300 nmi (555.6 km). It is integrated with a Synergy Electrodynamics E/AYR-02(V) E-Vista passive electronic support measures (ESM) system that augments surviellance coverage to 350 nmi (648.2 km) by gathering target information in the 10 KHz to 40 GHz frequency bands used by communication systems, IFF systems, fire control radars, jamming systems and other active emitters. The mission sytstem is based around modular avionics and open-architecture computing systems that are fully upgradable to keep pace with evolving threats and advances in technology to remain relevant for decades to come.

Design

The APY-02(V) system contains three antenna blocks based on advanced gallium nitride on silicon carbide (GaN-on-SiC) antenna technology arranged in a triangular configuration inside a 360° capable wide bandgap composite radome. They integrate both the primary surveillance radar system antenna and IFF/secondary surveillance radar antenna which provides air traffic control functionality. The E/AYR-02(V) E-Vista system contains four fuselage antennas located to port, starboard, fore and aft to provide 360° coverage. Radar and electronic signal processing equipment and central computers are installed directly below the main antenna array and are based on rackmount open-architecture blade servers. The mission systems and processors are networked by a dual-redundant high speed Fibre Channel optical data bus. The main cabin contains twelve ruggedised mission operator consoles, crew rest areas and comfort facilities/amenities to reduce fatigue during long sorties.

The system can provide continuously updated multiple intercept vectors on up to 500 confirmed targets simultaneously and can relay fire control quality (FCQ) track data to friendly platforms. Sophisticated processing and tracking algorithms are used to analyse up to 10,000 radio frequency channels and signals of interest, including track-identification, track-prioritisation, direction-finding, cross-correlation of radar, IFF, and ESM data for higher positional and heading accuracy, and traffic analysis of hostile emitters to build the overall intelligence picture and electronic order of battle (EOB) to assess the movements and intentions of opposing forces. Tactical decision aids help to reduce operator workload.

The communication suite can be tailored to specific customer requirements to provide extensive command and control, battle management and communications (C²BMC) functions that allow the mission crew to gain and maintain command and control of friendly assets during air, sea and ground engagements and provide air traffic control to friendly military and civilian aircraft. It can also allow the mission system to receive sensor-gathered information by datalink from off-board sources for fusion and analysis by multi-sensor integration algorithms. Working with Ikherian State-owned/Private Enterprises we anticipate there will be no issues in integrating MilDTIS communications systems, Federal cryptographic systems and IGSNS satellite-based navigation system on to this platform.

SDI Aerospace Systems is writing to you that we are formally submitting our Vanguard multi-sensor battlefield surveillance aircraft to compete in your next generation AEW&C tender. The Vanguard is based on SDI Aerospace System's S-1070 widebody ultra-long range airliner which has been extensively modified with dual X and L band surveillance radar systems, a strategic grade SIGINIT/ELINT system, a battle management command and control (BMC2) system, astro-inertial navigation sysetm, a receptable for aerial refueling capability, and a comprehensive defensive aide suite (DAS) including ECM receivers and transmitters, passive missile warning sensors, chaff/flare dispensers, and DIRCM countermeasures. Both radar systems used by the Vanguard aircraft exceed the Ikherian Ministry of Defence range requirements with the Vanguard's X band Multirole Surveillance & Attack Radar System (MSARS) having an instrumented range of 350 km against ground targets (1,000 max simultaneous targets) and it's L band airborne early warning radar system having an instrumented range of 650 kilometres (also 1,000 max simultaneous targets). The L band radar also has an additional ballistic missile defense mode with an instrumented range of 2,000 kilometers (limited to 10 simultaneous targets). Both radar systems employ fully digitized active phased array antennas using SDI's Gallium nitride (GaN)-on-Diamond T/R module architecture with individual digital receiver/exciter (DREX) units for each T/R module feeding into a common wideband digital beamformer array for each radar. The battle management command and control (BMC2) suite of the E-13 includes a software defined radio system with both UHF SATCOM and EHF SATCOM (44 GHz uplink/20 GHz downlink) transceivers compatible with Ikheria's MilDTIS and IGSNS satellite systems. Despite the significant size and weight of its sensor payload the Vanguard's S-1070 widebody ultra-long range airliner airframe modified with additional internal fuel tanks gives it a maximum flight endurance of over 20 hours and an unrefueled ferry range of 20,400 km, exceeding the Ikherian Ministry of Defence ferry range requirement.
