Bursken is a pacifistic nation, but the police are well funded. They act in the stand of the military in rare situations when negotiation fails and brute force is needed, like in the case of the occupation of the last non-Burskonian island on the southeast Renegaud Penisula where Renegaudian rebels have taken a last stand.
