Doumakis Local Winery

Bringing You the Finest of Mzeusian Spiced Wines

About Us

In the farthest reaches of southern Mzeusia, the Doumakis Local Winery lies within the Doumakis Valley, situated in the splendid county of Kloun. While that county was known throughout Mzeusia for many things including the strong fishing industry it bred in ancient times, nowadays, it is the high-quality spiced wine that the county is also garnering a reputation for. Much of Mzeusia's spiced wine production emanates from this county and we at Doumakis Local Winery are proud to be part of the effort to bring lesser known Mzeusian wines to the world. We are blessed to be situated in a certain part of the world where the geography means that climate can vary dramatically over short distances. This allows us to cultivate many different types of fruits, which in turn enriches the range of wines that can be produced in our winery. Having embraced more modern growing techniques, Doumakis Local Winery has also branched out into the production of some types of wines not traditionally suited to growth in the area, further diversifying our wines on offer.

It is part of our mission to ensure that every bottle is made with love, pride, and of course, the best quality ingredients. With many years of experience, we know how much the perfect bottle of wine can mean, which is why we have used our many decades of experience to craft, forge and blend the best beverage. Through many a meticulous process, we have concocted the ideal blend of spices and fruits in every bottle, so that every taste can be met, and every thirst sated. Mzeusian wineries like ourselves employ wine-tasters from many diverse backgrounds because wine tasting goes against the teachings of Mzeusism. Whether you want to celebrate a wedding, set the mood for a romantic date or enjoy a tipple as the sun goes down, our long history of employing well-travelled, innovative and expert sommeliers means that we have poured a great deal of passion and dedication into our craft, making sure we design the right kind of wine for you. Drawing from local traditions in wine-making and other techniques around the world, we are confident that our wines are among the finest on offer.

The Wine List

  • Mier Tyso:
A wine named by a foreign traveller who came to Mzeusia in the late 1400s, Mier Tyso is a delicate, stately wine, aged in Mzeusian Oak Caskets for 20 years. It brings a charming, mischievous taste and with a delightful cast of spices that elevate it to even greater heights, it is a seductive drink for anyone looking for a light but playful accompaniment to a meal. Amiably priced at 18 Moes

  • Phrymiflakis:
Phrymiflakis is a strong, powerful wine with the twin identities of a commanding mixture of spices and an eloquent wine underneath. Together, these two identities really do form a union like no other, bringing the taster to a world of wonder and possibility. Very few wines can stand up to the heady, bold, unafraid splendour that Phrymiflakis provides. Aged for fifty years in Thoonian oak, this wine is ideal for a hearty supper, especially given its price tag of 19 Moes.

  • Dymoanis
Meaning Tragic End in Mzeusian, Dymoanis's open top ageing process and clever combination of wine and spices has made it well respected among those wishing to get over a tragedy. A comforting, warm feeling is carried with poise and pride. The taste is soothing and smooth while a note of brightness and hope is nestled inside, springing forward as a magnificent aftertaste. Dymoanis is, without a doubt, a respectful, noble wine that always makes for a pleasant drinking experience. The price for a bottle is an equitable 17 Moes

  • Timos Verlansis
Moving with the presence and knowledge of a veteran commander on a battlefield, this purposeful beverage is one of the oldest known to be produced in Mzeusia, lovingly and faithfully recreated from archaeological sites around the country. With thousands of years of history behind it, this wine has seen it all. It may come across as a little rough and uncaring, but for that authentic taste of ancient Mzeusia, there is no better candidate. The obvious choice before a nap by the fire, this wine is sure to be an excellent companion to any taster with a desire for action. With a complex, interweaving and interacting web of spices, fusing with the underlying wine in a lively and erudite fashion, Timos Verlansis offers what very few wines do and comes at the cost of 15 Moes

  • Doumakis Valley Dancer
Doumakis Valley Dancer, or Doumakis for short, is an outspoken wine, bursting with character. A supple taste, quiet gentleness dances with an assured sprinkling of spices to create a tango for the ages. Spinning across the ballroom of the taster's tongue, dipping ducking and twirling down the throat, this wine makes full use of a beautiful pairing to illicit the desired joy. Grace and personality recall the spirit of Halcyon days as this wine waltzes down the contours of history to the grand symphony that plays along with wild, passionate, vigour. In short, a sweet, irresistible and immaculately dressed wine with enough individuality and memorable qualities to make the taster desiring more, Doumakis Valley Dancer is an opulent example of the best of Mzeusian wines, costing 20 Moes a bottle.

  • Byskeri
A somewhat reserved wine, spiced with hints of flavour, this wine maps out an intricate yet magical journey, full of subtlety and nuance. It is sure to slowly and calmly introduce the taster to gorgeous, waltzing aromas while taking care not to overwhelm. Byskeri is not what one might imagine given its harsh-sounding name, and all who give it a chance, are enchanted by the selection of spices that meander its harmonious halls. This expertly pieced together delicacy is the result of two hundred years of knowledge. Byskeri is for anyone who wants a relaxing, well-balanced wine and can be purchased at the reasonable price of 15 Moes.

  • Oysiphos
Meaning, together, in Mzeusian, Oysiphos offers a world of tastes textures and smells that can leave anybody feeling exciting. Made to celebrate the victory for Klounian wineries as they battled against the large and menacing Alisius Wines, this wine brings a celebratory mood to the drinker and his or her lips. The product of many decades of research, experimentation and argumentation, this wine reached its high quality status right in time for Alisius Wines's schemes to be defeated, and it is the perfect name for this outstanding beverage. With a price tag of 17.50 Moes, it is a superb, sublime, stupendous and subtle delicacy.

Doumakis Local Winery

The Evil Plans of Alisius Wines:

We, Doumakis Local Winery, are forced to bring you very sad news. In the interest of customer and general reader safety, we hereby ask you to locate and sit upon the nearest chair. This news is, as you intelligent ladies and gentlemen have no doubt gathered by the tone of this announcement, of a most grave and disturbing content. Our business, you see, is not all sunshine, smiles and sublime wine anymore. After entering into conversation with the wine company Alisius Wines, also based in the county of Kloun, we have come to understand that they have many nefarious and dastardly intentions and designs towards the wine-making scene of Kloun.

In possession of a most horrid, disgusting and vile agenda, Alisius Wines seeks to undermine good, hard-working wine makers like ourselves in order to secure in their mailed, thuggish fist, a monopoly on the Klounian wine scene. We thank the gods that we did not agree to work with them, an act which would have formed an unholy union of a kind we fear we could not easily have escaped. While Alisius Wines produces vintages of reasonable quality, that fact in no way affords them the right to obliterate smaller businesses in a maniacal quest for dominance as they plan to do. We ask you to look closely and recognise the importance of this matter. The future of Klounian Wine is at stake.

It is clear to us that merely producing better quality wines is not enough to hold back the black and terribly vicious schemes of our somewhat larger rival. We, Doumakis Local Winery, do declare that we shall not rest until the machinations of Alisius Wines are thwarted and we invite all Klounians to boycott Alisius Wines and buy from Doumakis Local Winery instead. In doing so, you will be supported true, expertly crafted wines with pure-hearted and good-intentioned wine-makers. As always, if you have any questions about the situation or about how you can aid our valiant and noble efforts, get in touch with our ‘Public Relations Department’. We will endeavour to update you as changes occur, and keep you informed during this war of the wines.

Hail, and blessings of the gods, most gracious comrades of Doumakis Winery. Enticed by the vivid and flowery descriptions of your beverages, His Grace and Majesty, Sarko Bellirus Dyanu, has decided to use your wines for the catering of the coming Litha War Memorial Ceremony, as well as restock His Glorious Imperial Wine Cellar. As such, we are requesting the following wines in the quantity;
- 100 Mier Tyso
- 100 Phyrmiflakis
- 130 Dymoanis
- 100 Timos Verlansis
- 100 Doumakis
- 130 Byskeri

The wines may be transported via air to Khaiful Imperial Airport if it is desired that we provide for transportation, or if you feel your handlers more expert and safe they may be transported to one Port Sansusk, on the West coast of the island. Further, we would like to inquire further into the recent dispatched announcement, and grow rather curious about what sort of aid you may be requesting, and if we may be of service, perhaps at the interest of a slight discount for the bulk purchase. We are willing to pay in full and contribute in other ways, however this is the favor that this humble servant feels would be most pleasing to His Grace and Holiness.

May the Gods Ever Bless thy Paths,
Samsa Assado, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Tribes of Sacheyenya

Dear Ms. Assado,

We, Doumakis Local Winery, thank you for your communication. We are delighted and honoured that such a man as His Grace and Majesty, Sarko Bellirus Dyanu has taken an interest in our wine. The wine shipment shall be transported to Port Sansusk without delay under the watch and care of our excellently trained handlers.

In regards to the schemes of Alisius Wines, as far as we have gathered, the winery plans to buy up or otherwise consume other wineries in Kloun, thereby creating a monopoly that should not be allowed to stand. His Grace and Majesty has aided our cause against this with his purchase of the wine, and we thank him most vociferously. If His Grace and Majesty wishes to further promote the diversity and vibrancy of the Klounian Wine scene, a message to the governor of Kloun would not go amiss. The governor is well aware of the situation, and a nudge from a such a powerful figure as His Grace and Majesty, would go a long way to fight against Alisius Wines and their plotting. Such help would indeed bring with it a discount on the purchase for Doumakis Local Winery would never treat any customer with disrespect.

Wishing you the very best of health,

Doumakis Local Winery

From: The Desk of Samsa Assado, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Tribes of Sacheyenya
To: The Most Esteemed Comrade Governor of Kloun

Hail, and blessings of the Gods, dear comrade. I message you today not to tell you how business is best run in your territory, but instead to offer you the thoughts and fair declaration of action from the minds of one who is concerned. It has come to our attention that one Alisius Wines has been using it's size and economic might to dominate the winery market in your nation. To the strong comes victory, well and good, but this victory for them may result in ruin for you. The market, once unchecked in Sacheyenya, was dominated by monopolies, and as a result not only drained the coffers of the people but also resulted in civil unrest at the unfairness of such actions.
Again, it is not in my best interests to inform you of how your territory need be governed. It is in your best interest, however, to consider heavily the effects on your own economy and how the potential overinflation of wine pricing that comes with such monopolies may effect the attitudes of your market, both domestic and abroad. To this end, as I am currently in control of the imports and exports of Sacheyenya until further notice as per the Temporary Governance Provision of 2020, I must inform you that Sacheyenya has boycotted all orders on all levels of the wines from Alisius Winery until such a time as their vicious business practices have been checked and tempered by your wise governance, and that if it is to continue these sanctions may extend to further businesses not only in Kloun, however the whole nation of Mzeusia. These sanctions will be limited once protection if the market is secured, in one way or another, in Kloun. Until then, we offer you our best wishes, and hopes that further business may be conducted in the future with your gracious subjects.

May the Gods Ever Bless thy Path,
Ms.* Samsa Assado.

A Victory for Klounian Wine:

We, Doumakis Local Winery, are thrilled to bring you, our customers, wonderful news. The meeting between the wine companies of Kloun and the Governor has been concluded, and with it, new measures have been put in place to ensure the diversity of the Klounian Wine Market. While we fully expect that Alisius Wines is not finished scheming, a great victory has been won today. It is remarkable to us that our many wonderful clients have acted with such passion and purpose to save the wine market of a single county in a single country of the world. We cannot thank you enough but in celebration, we shall be officially adding a new wine to our selection that we have, up till now, been trialling.

Wishing you all the very best of health,

We, Doumakis Local Winery, would like to offer our most sincere and heartfelt apologies for our public absence. While we have continued to fulfil orders with the usual and proper level of professionalism, there were several complications that prevented us from making another public announcement. A few of these issues will not be discussed as this is not the right place for them, but we shall unveil to our many customers the main reason for our absence.

If you have been following our announcements thus far, you no doubt know about the company, Alisius Wines. In the aftermath of the governor's decision about Alisius Wines's unscrupulous business schemes, an employee at the company built up the courage to speak about what they knew. The employee, working as a Junior Manager, offered to talk in secret with us to discuss further unethical goings on in Alisius Wines.

Although we will not reveal the full extent of the allegations, they included a lack of employee safety, underpaying those employees and attempting to lock other wineries into legally labyrinthine contracts that are detrimental to the wineries who sign, many of whom do so under duress.

Although these allegations were staggering and horrifying, a court case was not in the realm of possibility. Evidence was needed. The employee, as well as several of their colleagues began to document these wrongdoings, and two weeks into this process, an ex soldier known to the CEO of Doumakis Local Winery volunteered to enter the company and assist in the documentation. Alisius Wines were hiring at the time, allowing the soldier to gain access.

The evidence collated in the first two weeks were enough to warrant an investigation by the Mzeusian Special Intelligence Service, and over the next few months, the senior management including the CEO were implicated in the actions of the company. They were arrested, charged with various crimes and found guilty on nearly all the charges.

Following this removal of the top figures in the company, Alisius Wines has been placed under new management, and we, Doumakis Local Winery, have entered into talks about a possible partnership. We hope that Alisius Wines will take the national motto to heart and truly 'Build the New Path' for the company.

Wishing you the very best of health,

Doumakis Local Winery
