Dear Tony Muller, Chairman of the Global Free Trade Consortium:

Please let me present myself; I am Amelia Cardoni, Minister of Economy and Finances of the Most Serene Republic of Montevento. Today I have the pleasure to be writing this letter in representation of the Dogeship of Montevento, the Ministry of Economy and Finances and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform you, and the rest of members of the Global Free Trade Consortium, of the interest of Montevento in joining such an important and prosperous organisation as the GFTC is.

During the last weeks we have been observing and monitoring the actions of the GFTC, evaluating the potential benefits and disadvantages that it could have for our country to become a full member of this organisation. After much thought and multiple meetings, the Government has decided to present today before you its formal membership application to the GFTC which is attached at the end of this letter, as we believe that this could open to door to a great amount of new and strong economic partnerships between the Most Serene Republic and other foreign nations, bringing prosperity and wealth to our peoples.

Although our country is small, our economy is highly competitive and stable, being highly diversified and emerging as one of the fastest growing thanks to the recently found oil reserves off our coasts, together with the already established agricultural industry and our very strong software sector which has become one of our main comercial activities along with tourism during the last few years.

With nothing more to add, we await your prompt response and we are at your service to answer any questions that may arise about our intentions in the organisation that could have not been answered in our membership application letter.

Any Additional Notes: Please be notified that we do have problems trying to control illegal slavery in our country. It is not government sanctioned, but it does exist as private auctioning blocks within private homes. We are doing our best to contain the problem. Old (centuries-long) habits die hard. The instance of slavery has gone down considerably since the current Sultan sat on the throne and is set to be eradicated within the next 10 to 15 years. Rest assured, slavery in Syrel is not a coordinated effort and businesses do not partake in such activities. Slavery is completely outlawed. Our reasoning for still applying is that the constitution outlaws state-sanctioned slavery, yet says nothing about private slavery. Private slavery therefore cannot be arbitrarily legally regulated within the organization, lest the constitution have no meaning. In Syrel, slavery is decidedly not state-sanctioned, does not exist in our businesses and is entirely a problem involving private individuals. We hope you're willing to understand our conundrum and will accept us into the organization.

[Newark Aristocracy]

The Newark Aristocracy has a query regarding Article 2b of the GFTC's application rules.

All nations owing allegiance to the region of Confederation of Corrupt Dictators is barred from applying for membership within the Consortium until this article is ammended, without exception.

Why does this part exist? I don't understand why this bit is in the GFTC application rules.
I understand that there has been OOC drama between a member of the GFTC and CCD,but still,banning all nations that have even the slightest allegiance to CCD from applying has to be the most BS thing ICly caused by OOC drama.
