The Kiiyash Guild [MT-FT | Criminal Activity | OPEN]

Postby The Kiiyash Criminal Guild » Wed Jan 01, 2020 6:18 am

About the Kiiyash Guild
If you don't know who we are, we're sorry. Either we've made your lives hell and you have come looking for the ones responsible, or perhaps morbid curiosity on what happens underneath the surface in your own nation and elsewhere drives you to come to us. Needless to say, if your intents toward us are of a negative nature, you've come to the wrong place.

If you know who we are, and your intents are to stop us, we're sorry. Sometimes we do wish that we could be stopped, that we could find someone who would be able to stand toe-to-toe with us, even just for the sport, for the challenge of it. We're sorry because we've yet to find that. We've likely faced far larger threats than you, and we will continue to.

If, however, you have realised, as all sentient beings should, that working with us is within your best interests, read on. You will find the information most enlightening, a benefit for the both of us, parties in a mutually beneficial agreement.

We are the Kiiyash Guild, a guild that deals in the subtle, the not so subtle, the deadly, the life bringing, the wealth-making and the wealth-taking, but most importantly, we deal in anything illegal. Yes, any illegal activity.

So what do we do, exactly? Well, we sponsor the criminals who need it, we allow them to become guild members, and they gain protection from legal authorities, connections with other powerful agents within the criminal world, training in all kinds of skills, equipment for all kinds of jobs. We cater very well for the criminal underworld, as our main clientele. But we do far more than just that.

Obviously, we have our own aims, and every criminal within the Guild has their own aims. But, when needed, we also perform commissions. It can be anything; stealing a rare jewel, bankrupting a company, destroying a country from the inside, we've done it all before.

Of course, for any authorities reading this, it is just vague enough to give a common-knowledge level of understanding of our Guild, but nothing further. And for any potential buyers, reeling at the thought of being found out in your dealings, don't worry - our records are kept secure, and you can be sure that, since we specialise in these things, secure means secure.

And if you worry that we won't be able to find you, remember that we have a presence in many galaxies, in most interstellar nations, even on many planets which do not communicate with the stars.

That really only leaves one question remaining;

What are you waiting for?

Applications and Forms
Any applicants for any of our offers may see our services here. Please be advised that the security of your communication to the Kiiyash Guild is your responsibility - the Kiiyash Guild does not accept responsibility for the intercepting, disclosing, or otherwise discovering of client's communications with the Guild, nor will the Guild accept any repercussions arising from that discovery. The Kiiyash Guild will, however, accept responsibility for the security of delivery for any communications from the Guild to clients, but after delivery has completed, the Guild will not accept responsibility for negligence in caring for Kiiyash Guild communications.

What do we Offer?
We should hope that the benefits of operating with the Kiiyash guild are obvious and plain to see. Many it would be expected that your nation, like many others before, would see and understand that having us as an enemy, or even a neutral party, is far less beneficial to the national interest of all interested nations than forging a long-lasting business relationship with the Guild. That choosing to align oneself with the Kiiyash Guild has a number of benefits which can make operating a country, corporation or any form of influential organisation a good deal easier. But in case the benefits need to be explained, this will be done below.

Firstly, the Kiiyash Guild has memberships from a large number of well-trained and expert criminals. Crossing a number of galaxies and operating on such a large scale, a potential applicant may be secure in the knowledge that, simply in terms of numbers, should one member, or even a whole Chapter or Sector of the Kiiyash Guild fail, it does not mean that the guild is down and out. For the most part, the Kiiyash Guild has a number of willing recruits who would happily step into the shoes of any who fail. We have the skill, we have the resources, and we have the persistence to keep going as long as feasible for us, whether it's for the interests of an organisation or for our own interest.

Secondly, the commissions, services and other illegal activities we offer benefit both the Guild and the one commissioning. We do not care how the money comes into the guild, whether it's by illicit activities or largely by performing services, as long as the money is coming in. Moreover, whether engaging in a cull of disloyal party members, a crash of the financial markets of a country or the gathering of information, any of our services will benefit the applicant whenever they let it, and should foul play be found out, the Kiiyash Guild ensures, as it has done in the past, that no trace of complicity will be found to incriminate anyone who lives up to the terms of our agreement.

Finally, there is the most obvious benefit of all - the financial benefit. Kiiyash Guild storefronts, in addition to performing guild activities, will provide an economic boon to the local area, and guildhalls, while being stationing points for an entire Guild chapter (or branch), will also pay rates to anyone who organises a Guildhall in their territory. Given that the Kiiyash Guild would more than likely operate a Guildhall in a somewhat local area anyway, to organise for the Guild to pay you for such a right is only a net benefit to the applicant.

There are a slew of other reasons to trust this shady organisation of criminals, but we feel we've given a decent level of understanding to show the benefits of an association with the Kiiyash Guild.

Security Guarantees
The Kiiyash Guild guarantees that all communications made by the Kiiyash Guild will be done to a sufficient level of security to ensure that no useful trace of communication occurs. The Kiiyash Guild does not guarantee the security of messages from applicants to the Kiiyash Guild - this guarantee must be made by the one sending the message. The Kiiyash Guild will, however, take responsibility for messages to the Guild if applicants use official Guild channels for their communications, but such channels must be specified for communication to occur. The Kiiyash Guild operates with a large number of varied and secure communication channels, such as personal couriers, triple-encrypted data transfers or vague letters. Guild secrecy is a primary concern, and as such, so is the secrecy of Guild clients, and so we shall not reveal details of involvement with the Guild to outside third parties. If Guild secrecy is compromised by a Guild client, however, then the Guild has its full discretion to reveal such details of involvement to any parties the Guild deems worthy of such information.

OOC - Rules
  1. Applications are IC (in character) only. I will not respond to any applications OOC. An application may have a message or RP text along with it, but this is not strictly required.
  2. Unless specified by player, no information of agreements made in this thread are known by other countries IC'ly. If you want extra OOC assurance, send me a TG outlining the deals you want to engage with, and I will find a way to get it done IC'ly.
  3. Note that every country is a player, and so asking to "dismantle x player country" won't work. If you ask them and they are okay with it for a Roleplay, and you agree that the Guild is how you do that, only then will that be allowed, and I'll contact all involved parties to check this has been done.
  4. Applications that are unfinished will not be answered. Any exception I make is solely at my own discretion, and if I think enough information is provided to be usable.
  5. No trolling, godmodding, threadjacking or anything else in that regard.
  6. Applications are to be realistic. Orders that are evidently made for trolling purposes will be treated as such.
  7. IC'ly, this storefront is not visible to individuals unless they look for it, and information on it is not readily usable by law enforcement. Any RP attempts to dismantle the Kiiyash Guild may be undertaken, but categorically not in this RP. TG me about it, and we can discuss whether to make a new thread about it.
  8. I am the OP of this thread, and it is my sole discretion what applications are accepted or declined.

SERVICES AND COMMISSIONS

About our Services and Commissions
The Kiiyash Guild offers a great number of criminal services which may be commissioned from the Guild for a reasonable rate. Outlined here is a (non-exhaustive) list of services we have on offer, ranging from major crimes to more minor infractions. Note: When drafting a commission, please write the name of every service to be undertaken in the "Service(s) Required:" slot.

Services - Information
The Guild has a number of information services on offer, and will charge variant rates for the kind of service involved.

Long-Con Information Gathering: - Approx. NSD 1,000-50,000 per day
This form of information gathering involves an individual infiltrating a company or organisation and learning or finding what information they have over a long period of time. As such, it is charged on a per day basis.

Trespass and Information Gathering: - Approx. NSD 1,000-100,000 per GB of information
Dependent on the ease of trespassing onto a property, the price of this information and espionage service may go up or down. This is for instances where, for best information gathering, an individual must work to retrieve the documents in person.

Wiretap or Information Intercepting: - Approx. NSD 500-50,000 per GB of information
Generally a bit less risky than physically taking the documents, a wiretap or a remote information gathering service is for instances where individuals are not required to be within the vicinity of the information being retrieved, and comes at slightly lower rates because of this.

Hacking: - Approx. NSD 300-30,000 per GB of information
This is the least risky of the forms of information gathering, and it involves hacking into records from a distance. Dependent on the security involved, the price may go up or down, but as it is largely safe, it is at a somewhat lower price.

Information Destruction: - Approx. NSD 100-30,000 flat rate
A destruction mission has no particular rhyme or reason to it, instead just causing as much damage to the computer systems as possible to destroy information, either physically or by malware, though a physical presence will result in an increased fee. Note: instances where individual files must be deleted apply under information gathering, not destruction.

Services - Killing
The Guild has a large number of highly skilled killers within its ranks, however due to practicality purposes (not getting caught, planting evidence, status of targets etc.) commission rates for killing services are generally higher than most other services that the Guild has on offer. Note - the Guild does not have a rate for simple acts of mass murder, as they are not acts the Guild takes commissions for. The forms of killing for which the Guild offers are as follows:

Mass Assassination: - Approx. NSD 35,000-500,000,000 per target
For when there are a great number of high level assassinations to undertake, the Guild offers a 'mass assassination' service. This service can be used against fairly mundane high level targets; police chiefs, politicians - reaching up to even higher level targets, such as heads of state or galactic despots. Given the differences in difficulty between some of these services, the Guild is flexible with pricing, though recommends that one gives reasonable price suggestions. Any specifications, such as whether all targets are to be eliminated at once or in separate attacks, must be given in the application, and may incur extra fees dependent on difficulty of task.

High Level Assassination: - Approx. NSD 30,000-100,000,000 per target
For single assassinations against high level targets, the Guild offers similar pricing to the mass assassination options, though slightly reduced to account for relative simplicity of eliminating individual targets. Targets range from low level politicians to higher level heads of state and despots.

Low Level Assassination: - Approx. NSD 15,000-30,000 per target
For assassinations of individuals who are not particularly prominent, such as small business owners, individual authority workers or other low level but still significant targets for an individual to want them eliminated.

Killing and Framing: - Approx. NSD 50,000-150,000 per target
This incurs an extra cost on top of the act of killing itself, and that is variable based on who the target is for the framing, what information the applicant can offer in that regard, and how easy it is to plant evidence and remove oneself from the scene without detection.

Services - Sabotage
Sabotage is the targeted damage towards an object or organisation with intent to cause harm later on, such as a catastrophic failure or inability to engage in a primary protocol. Sabotage also includes instances of incitement, such as incitement to rebellion or rioting.

Stock Market Sabotage: - Approx. NSD 50,000-150,000,000,000
Stock Market sabotage is the rebalancing of stock power in order to cause a change in how the Stock Market runs, all the way up to possibly causing a crash. Causing a complete collapse will require a very large sum as insurance.

Rebellion Incitement: - Approx. NSD 20,000-500,000 per target
Incitement to a rebellion is a difficult act, and requires a lot of pre-planning. As with rioting, any location where a rebellion should rise counts as a target.

Wartime Sabotage: - Approx. NSD 2,000-30,000 per target
Wartime sabotage is the intent to destroy or disable the armed capabilities of a belligerent in a war, such as disabling fighter craft or weapons systems.

Machinery Sabotage: - Approx. NSD 500-15,000 per target
Machinery sabotage is the attempt to destroy or disable, by any means necessary, a piece of machinery. Included within it can be industrial sabotage.

Rioting Incitement: - Approx. NSD 2,000-5,000 per target
Incitement to rioting is fairly simple, all things considered, and as such, costs are fairly low. Any location where a riot should take place counts as a target in this instance.

Services - Theft
Theft involves the retrieval and procurement of items of interest, or of monetary value, from other sources. Given that the majority of Theft jobs are for monetary gain, most charges come as a percentage value in relation to the price of the item being stolen, though in terms of difficulty and/or physical presence, an additional rate may be added.

Larceny or Robbery of Valuables: - 10% of total monetary value
Either through violence and coercion or stealth and guile, taking items or monetary value for a client's benefit.

Short-Con Fraud: - 20% of total monetary value
Short Cons are frauds which take a matter of minutes to maybe an hour to complete. They are slightly more complicated than simple larceny or robbery, and as such have an increased rate.

Long-Con Fraud: - 40% of total monetary value
Long Cons are frauds which take days or weeks to complete. They have a large number of moving components, and are more complicated to perform, hence the increased rate.

Services - Violence
Violence services are those for which damage, either to a person or property, is undertaken. They have rates different from killing, as killing often searches for the most efficient route, while violence acts require much more fine-tuning.

Kidnapping: - Approx. NSD 5,000-150,000 per target
The stealing of an individual alive for any purpose. This is the most expensive form of violence service due to the stipulations of individuals remaining alive and being transported simultaneously.

Property Damage: - Approx. NSD 100-300,000 per target
Property damage involves the damage or destruction of a piece of (usually private) property. Whether this is a vehicle, a building or anything, if it is not a sentient being, it counts as Property Damage. Specificity regarding dealing with bystanders etc. may incur an extra fee.

Personal Damage: - Approx. NSD 500-50,000 per target
If an applicant requires the Guild to "rough up" a target, then this counts as Personal Damage. If a target is difficult to reach, it may incur an extra fee.

Services - Miscellaneous
If there are any services which are not mentioned here that you wish to commission, then this is the category for it, and it will likely be added in a new update at some point.

MEMBERSHIPS

About Guild Membership
Deciding to join the Kiiyash Guild is a decision undertaken by many criminals, prospective criminals and those wanting to increase skills in arts often associated with crime, and it is rarely one they ever regret. The Guild offers a number of services to its members that would allow any prospective member a leg up in their careers as criminals.

Protections
The Kiiyash Guild offers a great number of protections, both legal and physical, for guild members. For instance, if a guild member is in trouble with the law, they may petition the Guild to intercede on their behalf, which they will most likely do. Or, if an unassigned criminal or other violent individual is pursuing a Guild member, then the Guild may assign a bodyguard escort to them as needed. The Guild also has financial protections, including a Guild bank (only available to guild members), a debt centre and various other financial safety blankets.

Training
The Kiiyash Guild offers training in any skill used in criminal activity. From hacking to combat, distractions and getaways, the Kiiyash Guild will help expand any individual's skill in their chosen field. Chosen from the best of the best in the criminal world, the instructors have all used their skills in real situations where they have been required.

Commissions
As well as the training and protections offered, due to the Guild's organisational structure, it organises all commissions as given to the members. Every member has an equal share in the number of local and further afield commissions as they are handed out, and while some infighting may occur, these commissions end up being good earners for Guild Members and the Guild itself.

Community
Kiiyash Guildhalls are not only the hives of scum and villainy many make them out to be. They also function as an elite and secretive social club. All Guildhalls are outfitted with some form of leisure activity, as their secondary purpose, as safehouses and recreation areas, must still be completed as well as the primary focus of Guild training and commissions. Most have a bar of some kind, with some also having a pool, games, libraries of criminal-related books, and all kinds of other community activities.

Factions
The factions of the Kiiyash Criminal Guild also offer a wide variety of other prospects, depending on which one is joined. All of the information about Factions may be read on their factbook page.

A General Feeling of Superiority
The Kiiyash Guild is secretive enough that very few people know its inner workings, and many don't even know it exists. As you go about your duties to the Guild, or even just walking through the street, you can be safe in the knowledge that you essentially walk above the other plebs, being a part of the Kiiyash Guild, a family, a society and a decent job that ensures that Crime Pays for all its members.

BRANCHES AND ASSOCIATED STOREFRONTS

Chapter and Guildhalls
A branch of the Kiiyash Guild present in a location is referred to as a Chapter. A Chapter has a Guildhall, and usually also possesses a number of associated storefronts, though not always so. Beyond a Chapter, a Division is the collection of all Chapters assigned to a stellar system. A Sector is a collection of Divisions, a Galactic Combine is a collection of Sectors, and beyond that is the highest level of Guild command.

A Guildhall can essentially be any building, though some Guildhalls are a lot more opulent than others. Each Guildhall operates with a number of functions:

Guild Operation Area
The Guild operates out of the Guildhall, as it is the main centre of meeting for the majority of guild members. As such, the Guild organises most of its commissions, meetings, bureaucratic concerns and other functions inside the Guildhall. It plays such a vital role in Guild operations that the utmost secrecy is maintained to ensure that they are not found, such as by keeping Associated Storefronts away from the Guildhall. Guildhalls are also connected to an inter-Guildhall network, and if a Guildhall is to be compromised, then the network is shut off to that hall, meaning that records are unable to be recovered until the network is re-established between that hall and the others.

Community Area for the Guild
Most Guildhalls also contain some form of recreation or leisure centre to ensure that the Guildhall is often used. Most Guildhalls have a bar of some kind, but some also have swimming pools, restaurants and other communal activities.

Guild Safehouses
Should a Guild Member have to go on the run, the Guildhouse is the most likely place they have to remain safe. Guildhalls are able to be locked down should the authorities come running, and no-one enters a Guildhall unless the Guild knows of them. As such, those present in the Safehouse portions of the Guildhall are provided with extra resources to allow them to survive.

Training Areas
Guildhalls are also where the majority of Guild Training takes place. As it is in such close proximity to where the Commissions come in, it is perfectly suited for some on-the-job training, should it be needed. As such, private rooms where Guild members train each other are common in Guildhalls.

Associated Storefronts
Associated Storefronts are businesses owned and operated by, or closely associated with, the Guild. Most Associated Storefronts fulfil their purpose as a storefront, by selling products like any store would, but the Guild has a space, usually at the back of the store, in which they can operate as a local base of operations. The Kiiyash Guild takes good notice on when inspectors are likely to come into the stores, and as such know when to vacate the store for a long period of time. Moreover, the Storefronts usually hide the Guild area very well. Even with these precautions, though, the Kiiyash Guild does not spend very long inside an Associated Storefront, but the approval of a Storefront by a larger power may allow them to get more use out of it.

Benefits
If an Associated Storefront or a Guildhall were established within a local area by the ruling power, it is likely that crime would largely be reduced to that which the ruling power finds useful. Instead of the Guild attempting criminal activities against government institutions, they may instead attack corporations that the government finds disagreeable, or individuals the government would rather were removed. Of course, an overt statement of support would be difficult to justify, and so the Kiiyash Guild would operate secretively, but it would still assist the Government with its aims, from time to time and as needed, as well as engaging in the Guild's own aims.

PARTNERSHIPS AND AGREEMENTS

Partnerships
A partnership between the Kiiyash Guild and another organisation is an agreement of shared gain or subsidiary operation with the Guild. Partners of the Kiiyash Guild will expect to gain a good deal of the Guild's investment and resources as they grow within the Guild, and will also be safe from legal issues and Guild meddling. The Guild does not specify what organisations may function as Partners with the Guild, so it includes a number of nations as well as corporations. Partners with the Guild are, by technicality, subservient to the Guild, but the Guild allows its partners to act autonomously, just with certain guiding principles by which they should abide. Partners are similar to Associates, but the Guild operates Associated Storefronts a lot more closely, and they tend to be a lot smaller than the often quite large Partners.

Agreements
An agreement with the Kiiyash Guild is far more equal than a partnership, but the Kiiyash Guild has historically been far more harsh on organisations which have reneged on some portion of an agreement than those who have reneged on part of a partnership. Agreements with the Guild can take many forms, such as the Kiiyash Guild agreeing not to operate against the applying organisation's interests, information exclusivity between the Guild and another organisation, or a 'truce' in case of the Applying Organisation having issues with Guild operations.

Some fairly short time after you send the message to the Guild, you receive a note with a strange symbol on it. You take it to mean that the Guild has your message.

The commission had been passed to John Harding, a recent addition to the guild, and an expert in poisons. He looked at his watch - 22:57. Not long before the candy shop across the street would be unofficially open again, and then John would get to work. He went over the plan - it had to go off without a hitch. His commission depended on it. He had to sound like he blended in. He already looked the part - a suit and tie, a very formal affair. If people can afford to be spending $200 for entry to the ring, well then, they'd likely be of the well-off variety of custom.

Of course, John was likely chosen because he wasn't a very good pickpocket. Choose another criminal, one who was better at that particular affair, and likely most of the patrons of the ring would come out of there with a slightly lighter pocket, even the ones who had won. John smiled, thinking of all the money that must get passed around that kind of establishment. Of course, he was after the real prize - a $25,000 commission would do the trick. Did he need the money? Perhaps. It'd certainly help towards a number of things. But he mainly did it because a job is a job. Maybe he'd spend most of his share at this very same gambling ring! The thought made him shudder slightly, as if the evening's cold didn't do that already.

He looked again. 23:01. It was time. He ducked out of the alleyway he had been standing in, and darted across the street. A few others had begun to meander towards the shop as well, for the same reason. And so, John got into line. He wondered if he'd see Will immediately, or if he'd be there later.

The bouncer at the door finally got to John. Looked him over, saying "You must be new here. $200 entry."

John acted surprised, "Guess I'll be spending even more than that through the night," he said, aiming to sound like he wasn't acutely aware of the price, and the clientele, so that he would appear to have not planned the night down to a tee. He went up to the second floor, and thought he might be able to get some gambling in beforehand. Not much, just a little. To allay suspicions.

---

Another loss. Great. John let go of the last of the money he'd brought, the commission from another night; another murder. He scowled, as he scanned the room for his mark. Too much longer, and he'd be losing real money... There - it was the man he was after. Harold Blackburn. John feigned a small tantrum, removing himself from the table to get a drink. He looked over to Harold - he had a yellowish-brown liquid. Whiskey, most likely. On ice. Good.

John asked the barkeep for the same, getting it in good order. John wandered over to the table where Harold was evidently making a killing... How ironic. With some slight of hand, John slipped a white powder into his own whiskey, before swapping the two whiskeys at the table. Now that was something John did know how to do. He then immediately left the gambling ring. He knew what would happen.

It wasn't long, maybe 10 minutes, when the staggering Harold Blackburn left the establishment, evidently feeling very much worse for wear. John watched from his van as Harold threw up in an alley. Good timing. No-one around, dead of night, a man seemingly suddenly fallen ill. As Harold went down into the alley, likely to relieve the contents of his stomach again, John left his van and followed him, clothes different to the ones he had worn before. He followed him ever closer on foot...

Harold Blackburn's body was found on the road, drenched in vomit, and run over by a car. By all accounts, an accident; someone who had drunk too much at a bar and fallen ill, collapsing on the road to be run over by a van. His story had finished. Another note had turned up to meet you. It simply asked "stealthy enough?"

Some time after you send the message to the Guild, you receive a great many notes with the same symbol on it, seemingly packed into an envelope so that they will pour out of it with minimal movement of the envelope. The guild has your message, and makes no secret of its poking fun at Mr Sænlê's large spending and generous patronage.

The Sporting Alliance collectively funded the engagements for the first one. Such a large number of jobs to be completed, it would require a number of interested criminals to undertake it, and how better to ensure a number of interested parties than with a bit of sporting competition. More than that, due to the stipulations of the Thermodolian Secret Service that it must not be traced back to Thermodolia, all of the entrants were given no notice of the Thermodolian involvement, though of course the usual Sporting Alliance protocols dictated that any who snitched were fair game to be killed. Throughout the course of a week of madhousing between subcontracted Sporting Alliance criminals, all of the required instances of crime were done as requested, some even adding flairs, such as adding tracking equipment to every other piece of useful military hardware that was not sabotaged.

For the other operation, it required more stealth, more precision, and a steadier hand. Finally, Orsola Rosa, a local to the Isla de Flores branch of the Guild, stepped up to take the commission. Her methods were secret, though she was known for minimum-risk, maximum-efficiency killings over long distances. All that she revealed was what became known on international television - that General León Arco was at a military demonstration, when suddenly he dropped over dead. A slow acting poison was what caused the death, so contact could have occurred any time prior to his eventual death.

Over time, you receive two notes, each with a symbol on them. The first one is a rather garish yellow-on-black, while the second is a far more standard scribbled message, black on white. The contracts had been completed. Surely the Thermodolian Secret Service would be deeply upset at these two altogether unfortunate circumstances in foreign countries, both of which the Thermodolian nation had nothing to do with, as any available evidence would show. Leave the accusations of their complicity in the crimes only to conspiracy theorists.

May this find you in peace.

  • Aggravated cemetery desecration in the first degree
  • Insurance fraud in the second degree

Name of Organisation or Nation Applying: Båthuset Mårdh (Boat-House Marten)
What is the nature of said agreement? Non-interference/Cordial cooperation, with possibility of alliance negotiations in the future
Proposed Payment Offered to Kiiyash Guild: $800,000

Are any continued services expected from the Kiiyash Guild? This will be discussed if an alliance will be negotiated.
Any special stipulations to which the Guild must adhere? None

OOC: Year 2063

Name of Client: Richard Dabral
Name of Organisation Client Represents: *UNDISCLOSED*
Nation in which Organisation is Registered or Operates Within: *UNDISCLOSED*
Service(s) Required: High Level Assassination (two targets)
Details of Commission: The year is 2063. The world is engulfed with low-intensity warfare, economic crises, reduced trade, and the breakdown of the World Assembly (not to be confused with the multiversal WA). Diarcesia is one of the few places unaffected.

Salil Ahmad, the Utei do-Odri of Odrioya (an administrative division of Diarcesia), and his consort, the Princess Anastasia Tabitha of Chiyginia, are beloved figures in the Monarchy. They travel overseas frequently to visit and lend aid personally to the more distressed areas of the world. This they do with full knowledge of the risks involved to their personal safety. My employer has determined that their deaths will finally bring Diarcesia to the ongoing chaos, and therefore whatever will be the next action will be set in place.
Proposed Payment Offered to Kiiyash Guild: $30,000,000. $15,000,000 upfront. $10,000,000 after Salil Ahmad's death, and $5,000,000 after Anastasia Tabitha's.
Will any services be offered to the Kiiyash Guild for completion of task? No
Any special stipulations to which the Guild must adhere? I relay strict instructions that my employer must not be linked in any way to this act.

As agreed with my employer, once the full payment is transferred, the guild must kill me - I will come alone and unarmed at a spot we can arrange. I took this mission knowing that my life is already forfeit, and this is my final act of service for the greater good.

The Båthuset Mårdh receive two notes. The first note is a simple Kiiyash symbol on one side, with the word "Struck" on the other. A deal has been made between the two organisations, and the Kiiyash Guild will be far more open to cooperation in future. Beyond that, it turns out that the guild member who delivered the message decided to remain, appearing in front of the new applicant Matheo Nyquist. They reveal themselves from the shadows, and walk around the man. They look him up and down, before looking him in the eye, "You'll do," they say, passing a seemingly modified Kiiyash symbol, with another symbol around it, with an address to meet at on the other side. Congratulations - Matheo Nyquist is a member of the Guild.

Diarcesia wrote:OOC: Year 2063

The Kiiyash Guild took the commission. Almost immediately, appreciating the chance to sow chaos, Ylve Puravan of the KAOS faction of the Kiiyash Guild, took the commission onto the KAOS faction itself, who later subcontracted it to a man by the name of Itves Khaa. Itves was not, shall we say, stable. His criminal journey was long and storied, though moreover, he simply enjoyed watching the results of his actions on the wider world, and as such, seeing the commission, giggled with anticipation as he was shown the commission.

---

A major terrorist incident brought the attention of the duo, both philanthropists. It was expected. An explosion of the magnitude that had just been let off tended to attract major international attention, but this one left a lot of suffering individuals, so this particularly attracted both Salil Ahmad and Anastasia Tabitha's attention. They flew over to the country where the incident had taken place, and of course would attempt to help the situation. It was expected, it was appreciated, and it was what occurred. The duo touched down at the airport, and their plane taxied to the gate. No attack yet, but one wasn't particularly expected. They made their way to a shelter full of injured victims. These victims had been badly hurt in the explosion. The media coverage was sparse, largely because of the gory nature of the victims. No attack yet. Still unexpected. Finally, they assisted with the cleanup. The nobles put some effort in, it had to be said. But the cameras were wide. Eventually, they were interviewed. The perfect time. No attack was expected. One came anyway. On national television in Diarcesia, possible even live, the two were being interviewed. Suddenly, the screen cut out. A shaky camera from up on a high building yet standing took over the feed. It showed exactly where the duo had been. Had. The area had now become a crater, as an explosion had rocked the area. The sound of a man with tape over his mouth whimpering came from behind the camera. The camera zoomed in on the bodies of the dead nobles, dismembered and broken. Suddenly, a gunshot. The whimpering stopped. The camera fell from the side of the building, crashing into the ground, leaving darkness once more.

---

Itves Khaa could barely contain his excitement as he came to collect the money. Setting up a major terrorist attack, then setting up an assassination as well. Perhaps he should be paid double. No, $30,000,000 was enough. He awaited Richard Dabral's arrival. Itves Khaa did not carry any note for the man, instead simply carrying a knife. The man silently waited for the money to come into his possession. He pointed to the knife, giggling as he did so. The man would get his death, only after the payment.

Somewhere in an unassuming region of the galaxy was a polyhedral spacecraft about the size of a football field - either kind - named FI Accelerating Infant. Typically, such a vehicle was a dense black of the sort necessary for conserving energy in the way the Kasa Tkoth Sphere was obsessed with; here, misdirection won out over cost and it'd received a coating of silvery radar-absorbing paint, along with some large but utterly superficial greebles designed to further obfuscate the craft's origin.

The subject to be misdirected here, of course, was the planet a couple of parsecs away. Dry, hot, dotted with cities and factories, Kedron was of only minor local interest due to its home civilization having just barely started launching manned craft to other planets, and all the interest they'd received had been pushed aside in favor of their own isolationist agenda. This was not very conducive to the typical K-Sphere approach of showing up in orbit, going "alright, everyone, let's get your brains out of your meat and into the Fun Zone", and leaving behind a bunch of mindwiped corpses from everyone who'd consented - not conducive at all, actually.

Holder of Dreams would have been a fool if it didn't have plans to get around this. Thankfully, it had earned the title "superintelligence" largely because it typically did.

Pnaia, one hundred ninety-six, was just about ready to call it a life and get uploaded. The old transhuman's prosthetics were starting to give out, she needed an ultrasonic projector sweeping the floor in front of her to walk around carefully, and no amount of facial surgery - of the sort easily available - would hide her deteriorating skeleton and musculature.

She took her sweet time, then, making her way around the dingy old orbital station, easing her way around spills and needing a minute or two to get up a flight of stairs to the meeting spot - a secluded area under an abandoned restaurant's awning. She didn't seem to have noticed her contact until she'd nearly bumped into him/her/them, gave an "oh, I'm so sorry, dear, rude of me not to have this ready", and then gently placed a disposable nanomesh slate the size of a credit card into their hand.

Someone had planned this out, sure - the K-Sphere's associates were always known for operating at weird combinations of levels of secrecy, pretending to make one operation obvious while slipping another underneath, often itself a guise for something much more direct. In this case, having two layers of organizational lies (she wasn't even supposed to be affiliated with whatever this "IGSC" was) had some nonzero chance of paying off.

And with the slate able to falsify its own contents or deteriorate at a command, it wasn't likely that even the most paranoid of passersby could have connected this to anything else if they tried.

Name of Client: Pnaia Axiit Toel
Name of Organisation Client Represents: Interstellar Grey Shield Cooperative (OOC: A fictitious humanitarian organization invented by the Kasa Tkoth Sphere for low-level "meatspace" ops.)
Nation in which Organisation is Registered or Operates Within: Kasa Tkoth Sphere
Service(s) Required: Bribery (c. 10,000 - 100,000 instances), "Information Gathering"/Hacking (deletion of records, c. 100,000 - 1,000,000 instances)
Details of Commission: The second planet of the Imma Coreoii 4592-A system, named Kedron, is the home of an early-interplanetary nation which prohibits humanitarian, religious, or service spacecraft - any of which could be used to describe a K-Sphere ship - from entering orbit or landing to perform operations. Investigation has nonetheless found a total of nearly one hundred million sophonts willing to accept mind-transferral aid.

It's a classic "little green men" operation: your job is to jam sensors, delete camera feeds, get law enforcement to look the other way, and otherwise ensure that, after about four days when their ship leaves, no soul on the planet with any influence has recognized the hundred million bodies as the result of a K-Sphere operation. If you need it, you'll have continuous K-Sphere informational-logistics support during the process; ideally, the fewer people we have to trick, the better, and those guys are... weirdly good at figuring out how to get people to go where they need. Less good at the whole "monetary involvement" thing, which is where you come in.
Proposed Payment Offered to Kiiyash Guild: Two options available, the first being vastly preferred:
1. Approximately four months of server time at 1023 FLOPS from distributed K-Sphere subnetworks.
2. Approximately 18,500 metric tons of high-grade scandium - estimated market price, assuming large interstellar market, ~200 billion NSD - delivered via third-party freighter after operations are complete.
Will any services be offered to the Kiiyash Guild for completion of task? Unless you'd like to count server time as a service - and I don't care if so - no.
Any special stipulations to which the Guild must adhere? If there's ever a conflict between the two, secrecy wins over completion. If we have to stop early and get the ship gone before its intended stay is up, so be it.
"You are not the person they think is hiding inside you. You're the person who can see yourself clearly."

Holder of Dreams and the K-Sphere are tirelessly working to put your preferences first and mortality last. Planetary upload procedures available on request!

Well, not exactly previous dealings with them, but having heard about them around the galaxy and hoping they'd eventually show up at her door with some kind of carry that would make her notorious in the local chapters of the Guild, it most certainly was not unexpected that she would, at some point, hope to be uploaded to the K-Sphere itself. But she still had a life of getting rich from the Guild to get through before she could think about settling down into virtual consciousness. She checked the nanomesh once more, ensuring it was safe in her hand, before leaving back to her Guildhall.

---

The Guildhall was abuzz with rumour. Some had themselves heard of the K-Sphere, others simply knew that a major contract had been brought in, ready to be fulfilled and potentially make whoever completed it a rich being, whatever they chose. The crier brought out the offending commission chip. They set the requirements list for the commission. It was a long list... Individuals turned away minute by minute as the requirements kept rolling. However, a group of about ten soon turned up to the crier, led by Yashia. The group overshadowed the crier, who considered whether it was worth it just to try and keep the commission for himself. But he knew that he would never meet the requirements. Only a group would meet them, and only one such group had turned up. The possibility of NS$ three hundred billion for each of them was more than enough to convince them that a group was preferable to an individual trying to fill all of the positions. They took the contract from the crier. They went into a sectioned booth to see the contract.

---

The K-Sphere contract was notified again that another meeting was needed. The Kiiyash Guild group were still to accept the commission, but this particular job required a lot of collaboration with the K-Sphere, and while many contracts would stipulate that it was an untraceable job, due to the technological differences between the client and target... Or, targets, ensured that they could collaborate as much as they needed. The Kiiyash group sent Yashia yet again to discuss. When the K-Sphere contact showed up, showing herself in front of Yashia, she notified the contact of her needs.

"First up, I like your style. Guild work? Not traditionally, but the numbers don't lie," Yashia chuckled at her own joke, but her face became serious soon afterwards, "Secondly, we need to know how the K-Sphere is going to organise its operation. You've said possibly 100,000 instances of both bribery and hacking, but where and when will your vessels be interacting with these natives, and how? Just going down to the ground, house to house like? Or something else?" she smiled sweetly, "Don't worry, hun. We can do it whatever way you choose to organise yourselves. We just want to know what to expect. If it's happening all over the planet, or in one place. How many people stand to see what you're... I mean, how many people do we need to 'silence'?"

"I take it you've never seen the K-Sphere run an upload mission?"

Pnaia was, at first, a little puzzled by the string of questions, though she figured that either the Guild wasn't expecting this operation to be typical - reasonable - or that they just weren't aware of the minutiae yet - also potentially reasonable, depending on the circumstances. So much of the work was being done indirectly between the two inscrutable organizations, a superintelligence behind the scenes working towards an abstract target and a shadowy guild willing to use any method or misdirection to achieve their real goals, that the entire conversation felt a little silly. But when she was asked a serious question, she always resolved to give a serious answer.

"'Microsecond-megameter' is the tagline. The ship they use stays in a high-inclination, low-altitude orbit where it can lock onto people on the ground, and it gets the job done pretty fast.

"Ahead of arriving over some city, they'll patch into local computers and start... routing people to arranged meeting spots. Rooftops, parks, public areas. Then the ship swoops past - or not, they'll use decoys and relays to fool ground control - and does some rapid-fire tachyon nonsense. Bunch of bodies left behind; usually they'll have consenting friends and family tagging along to clean up the trail. Most of the easy places will be boarded up once the Kedronian government gets moving, so later cities or second passes will be a little more complicated. I reckon they'll have people meet at street corners or even inside the more thin-walled buildings if they're desperate for locations. Your team should get a timetable with the cities at least a few hours in advance, so they know where to head... and they need to be on the ball for all four days the K-Sphere's allocated.

"The ship's a speck from the ground like any other satellite - I figure for this op they'll snatch one up and steal its orbit, easier to keep the people on the ground clueless. As for orbital detection - well, they've got good ECM and I assume your people can do some hacking."

The old woman took a moment to think about the rest of the queries; eschewing brain-speed augments as jarring, she nonetheless regretted not being able to snap to responses on the fly like better transhumans could.

"I'm going to make an educated guess, dear: when you get jobs to topple a nation or rig a market, the average client has no idea exactly how much work you've got to do."

She leaned forward, hesitant to utter a name.

"...Hod knows what to expect, but depending on how well your team cooperates and what they come up with on their own, they could get by paying off a police chief per city - or they might have to tap into a lot of cameras and wipe some records. I'm pretty sure he just came up with the numbers to keep you on your toes.

"That price isn't an estimation for some number of your services, it's the amount the K-Sphere's willing to spend for the uploads given the politics. Have your people come up with a value for the computation or the metal - whichever is worth more - and let the ship know if they've spent as much as they're willing for the reward. Hod can call it short. Though... with the tech advantage on your side, I think secrecy can be cheaper than that."

Pnaia gestured at Yashia's pocket with a smile, knowing she didn't have the slate but indicating so anyway.

"Little green men, and all."

The Kiiyash Criminal Guild wrote:A major terrorist incident brought the attention of the duo, both philanthropists.

Four Years Later

"Now," said the Egg, looking at its watch, "how does that sound? I mean, do we really need to be in this desolate place, far from any refueling stations? Our period of two weeks is almost up. Which means we're probably done here, unless we do something crazy like blow up the Domus Arigotus."

The Egg chuckled, "Whatever you do, don't try this at home." The Egg showed the now Utei-do-Odri Hanifa one of its dangerous stunts. One of its arms was now too close to Hanifa's face for her comfort.

"What?" her expression was unfazed.

"Just kidding," it said, "Just kidding. I mean, if we blow up the Domus Arigotus, this is clearly the highest treason. Everyone will turn against you."

"You got a point. No, I have something better. Look over there, here's the one we're to meet."

Name of Client: Hanifa, Utei do-Odri
Name of Organisation Client Represents: Herself
Nation in which Organisation is Registered or Operates Within: Diarcesia (Odrioya)
Service(s) Required: High Level Assassination
Details of Commission: "I am no fool. I know what really happened to my parents. All for a greater cause, now that the planet is at peace again, and conveniently with Diarcesia controlling virtually all of it. While I submit to the target's wisdom, Odrioyan honor demands blood for blood. He should know this, especially since he decided to play the deadly game the Palaeodiarcesians were once notorious for.

I foresee the Monarch Diarcesian Jaymes soon succumbing to an... accident."
Proposed Payment Offered to Kiiyash Guild: $25,000,000 upfront, another $25,000,000 on completion
Will any services be offered to the Kiiyash Guild for completion of task? No
Any special stipulations to which the Guild must adhere? No
