The Kronos Inc. F-23 Raytheon is a Zhenian air superiority fighter built by Kronos Inc. aimed for the replacement of numerous legacy aircraft, including the Arkan Industries F-20 Phalanx. Although primarily designed as an air superiority fighter, it is also capable of carrying out surface strike missions, as well as ISR and electronic warfare missions. It was one of the first air superiority fighters in Zhenian history to have been designed with very low observability (VLO) stealth in mind.

The revolutionary design philosophy of the F-23 Raytheon is one of the factors that lead to its unprecedented capabilities. Aimed to be a supermaneuverable fighter capable of ensuring air superiority on Day 1, the F-23 was built to be superior even against a much larger number of legacy fighters. Of course, seeing the future of air-to-air combat closer in BVR combat than WVR combat, the F-23 was built to deliver maximum firepower in BVR combat, capable of carrying up to ten long-range air-to-air missiles within its internal bays, which is aided by 360-degree, long-range coverage by the AN/APG-X-99 AESA radar and the Electro-Optical Multispectral Monitoring System (EO-MMS). Complementing its superior air-to-air capabilities is its extremely low radar cross-section, made possible by an array of design features, including its geometric angle alignment, dual-role tail stabilizers and two-dimensional thrust-vectoring nozzles. Its flight control surfaces include leading and trailing-edge flaps, ailerons and rudders on the dual-role tail stabilizers.

Even against stealth fighters of its class, the F-23 Raytheon ensures superiority. Due to its powerful two F330 engines and superior thrust-weight ratios, it is capable of supercruise, meaning it can go over Mach 1 without even using the afterburner. Its dual-role tail stabilizers and two-dimensional thrust-vectoring nozzles add to its maneuverability. The EO-MMS, together with numerous internal systems including the helmet-mounted display, allow 360-degree coverage of the aircraft, allowing the pilot to aim its heatseeking missiles just by looking towards the target's direction.

The F-23 Raytheon's superiority doesn't end when it comes to surface strike missions. Using its extremely low radar cross-section and internal bays large enough for most ground attack munitions, including numerous cruise missiles, it is capable of carrying out strike missions without sacrificing its stealth. Coupled with its supercruise capabilities, this indicates the F-23's capability to strike distant targets without refueling and returning intact from enemy threats. Its Electronic Warfare Suite is also one of the best in the industry, adding to its prowess against enemy surface targets.

  • F-23A Block 20: Upgraded version introduced for export in 2016. Updates include integration of more surface attack munitions, augmentation of the fighter's combat system with interoperability with nearby drones, improved counter-CBRN characteristics and software updates.
  • F-23B Block 20: Twin-seat version of the F-23A Block 20.
  • F-23C Block 10: Navalized version of the F-23A Block 10; otherwise similar with the F-23A.
  • F-23C Block 20: Navalized version of the F-23A Block 20, meant for operation on aircraft carriers. Otherwise similar with the F-23A.
