About the Eldoren Cheese Company
Eldoren Cheese Company is a producer of quality handcrafted cheese based in the valley region of Eldoren in southern Charellia. For centuries, this region has been home to dedicated dairy farmers. The Eldoren Cheese Company preserves this tradition, using only the finest local ingredients in all of our products.
Our story begins in 1775 when the King Aldaen I of Eldoren stopped in the village of Hecarion during a journey through the countryside. While shopping in the market, the King stopped to sample some local cheese. He was so impressed by the quality of the product that he granted Hecarion's cheesemakers a royal charter to oversee all cheese production in the kingdom. With a monopoly on production, the Eldoren Cheese Company was soon able to expand its operation beyond the kingdom's borders, gaining a reputation throughout the region as a maker of fine cheese. Everybody from royalty to manual labourers enjoyed our product, which we strove to make as affordable as it was delicious. When the King of Eldoren hosted Charellia's first Chief Executor, we were among the caterers. Throughout all this success, the company never forgot its roots. To this day, ensuring our farmers and suppliers get a fair price for their product is among our top priorities.
When King Aldaen III began to modernize the economy in the 1820s, the Eldoren Cheese Company was privatized. Here was our organization's biggest test. In this new age of free competition, we could no longer rely on our royal charter. All we had was our product and our good name. Yet the Eldoren Cheese Company not only survived in the new economy, it thrived. We were a trusted name, and our new competitors barely made a dent in our market share. King Aldaen even bought stock from us, and his descendants still own a 15% share in the company. When the United Federation of Charellia absorbed Eldoren in 1829, we expanded our market to every corner of the nation, rapidly becoming the largest cheese producer in the nation, a title we still hold today.
In the twenty-first century, not much has changed. We still make the finest cheese in the region. Although we have embraced modern production methods, our Master Cheesemakers still adhere to the same high standard they always have. Our product is guaranteed to be free of antibiotics or artificial growth hormones, and we follow best practices for humane dairy farming. Although we can no longer claim to be the cheapest cheese producer on the market, you will know when you deal with us that you are getting a top-quality product.
