Airport Description

Glasgow Airport, also unofficially Glasgow International Airport (IATA: GLA, ICAO: EGPF), is an international airport in Scotland, located 9.9 miles west of Glasgow city centre. In 2017, the airport handled nearly 9.9 million passengers, a 6% annual increase, making it the second-busiest in Scotland, after Edinburgh Airport.

Glasgow Airport’s runway is 8,743 feet long, meaning that aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 can land at this airport.

The 2 terminals at Glasgow have 25 gates in total, all of which can handle aircraft big and small.
The terminals also have space for lounges, which are good for first class and business class travellers.

This airport is a hub for Air Scotland, Air Scotland Cargo, and is soon to be a hub for Air Scotland Regional, a new airline with smaller aircraft, for short haul flights.

Furthermore, Glasgow Airport is the perfect airport for flights from the Americas to Europe, with it being inbetween the 2 continents.
