Sorry im confused what you're trying relay here. Are you saying/asking for advice to setup a storefront? Maybe a military themed storefront since you speak of "armies?"

The first time I read that, I thought that they were talking about making one singular MT storefront for the entire "world", which made me go back and read it again. Now i'm just completely confused as to what Munnius is trying to say, here.

Hi,

The first thing I perceive when I open the catalogue is Hot Wheels. I think I got clear that it is a cars brand that sells modified vehicles but then you have commercial vehicles like Anjung Capitalist or Anjung Trader that left me quite spaced out, I would recommend to do something else with those two. The rest of the catalogue makes sense and its fine, however, if you are going to create a storefront it would be good to have a lot more information about the cars other than just the colours: introduction, description about how it's while being drove, description about the exterior and interior, etc...

Finally, I would say to add more ''real life'' pictures of the cars but I realise that for your storefront that would imply a lot of editing, there are a few nice looking storefronts with only side view pictures so I would leave it just as a more personal thing.

Good luck with your storefront!

Does anyone here know how to link anchors? I've been looking at tutorials and have been trying to do it for the past 20 minutes. I've been doing this for the linking and I don't know what i'm doing wrong. Please help if you can. Many thanks!

[anchor=About]Anchor[/anchor]

[post=36426744#About]Link Text[/post]

Basically, you use the link text to connect to where the anchor is; alternatively, you could use post title links to conduct this. So in your OP bar "EXAMPLE - EXAMPLE2" etc, the code version looks like this: [anchor=LINK to thread#AnchorName]EXAMPLE[/anchor]. Your anchored point is then simply EXAMPLE. Be careful to not missnest tags. If you choose to link to post titles instead, I believe you still use the link to said post and then the text in said title (correct me if im wrong since it's been years since I used post anchored points). This code is pretty finicky, especially when you're making a table of contents because any small error will lead to breaks; typically breaks in the forum code are where the visual breaks occurred, but I've had some/many so broken that the entire things breaks - if that happens, double-back from the beginning and fix from there. The two tips I can give you on avoiding most breaks are to use simple anchor names (#About for example, since certain symbols break the code - don't use non-english for example), and always use your thread OP link as the linked item by default.

After taking a look, your problem is possibly you're using the wrong post. I use links to the thread itself (I've never seen the use of posts for anchors tbh), but my guess is you're trying to link to an anchored item in one post while linking to a different one. I've made such a mistake plenty of times, so that's my best guess since I only saw you use posts instead of links.

Hi, I'm building a weapons dealing storefront, and in my weapon specifications I want to include the rate of fire but I'm not sure if I should write the cyclic rate of fire or the practical rate of fire?

It's generally the cyclic rate that's given as when applicable its a more or less fixed part of the weapon. Practical depends on too many factors, by all means include information and discussion of it in the write up but it's not really a solid start.

I've been working on my MT fighter jets specifications (in order to sell them at GE&T, obviously). What do you think about them? (I am new to GE&T, so that's possible that they are a bit overpowered/underpowered)

I dig the graphics. These look super guuuud.

However, I think they can still be further improved by expounding on more of each plane's features. What is it made out of? What technology does it make use of? Which upgrades are compatible with it? Stuff like that can help sell the plane better to your desired market to RP in, especially since your storefront's customers are foreign armed forces looking to buy the most capable planes.

Another suggestion would be to reduce the font size wherever possible. While the image layout is certainly excellent, it takes a while to read everything because of how large the text is. If you feel like filling in the space left from downsizing your text, you can creatively fill in that space with more images of your fighter jets from various angles - even better if your images relate to the information you're providing.

Hi all, just got a few questions right now for a storefront I'll hopefully create at some point. I have a pretty good idea of my intended industry, products, and a rough aesthetic. Additionally, I intend to rp something of a gradual expansion of the storefront, with the idea of staring at an imagined small company before expanding to an appropriately sized mega-corp.

With that in mind:

As I have a decent idea of what the final 'mega-corp' will be offering in terms of products & services, would it be better to start with a couple of the departments mostly complete, or have a bit of something in each of the intended final departments. In essence, any advice as to starting with a narrow but deep focus vs a wide but shallow one?

I realize I said 'a few,' I'm just not sure if the other questions are necessary yet (or what they are) :p

It depends on what your company wants to start out with at the beginning, which will come down to your company's strategy of reaching to consumers. Wide vs Narrow alludes to the number of products you sell while Shallow vs Deep alludes to the options or variations of each product.

Pharmacy storefronts for example will go for the wide and shallow approach by selling a diverse range of pharmaceuticals but the individual products themselves had few variations. On the other hand, you have companies like Dodge that sell relatively few products but have endless variations of them tailored to different budgets and niches.

In recent years, the big megacorps like Google, Facebook, and so on started with at least one product or service that allowed them to be flush with capital and invest in other ventures to become a conglomerate, while decades ago, companies like GM or Boeing just make anything and everything to get the same level of capital. But on NS, usually it starts with one storefront that becomes decently popular before branching out to other things, be it divisions of your other storefront or subsidiaries under it. One particular example of this is The Legion Corporation, which based on what I could gather, started making waves with the Legion Constructions storefront.

I don't think so, tho being in a region with fellow storefront makers does help with networking and getting feedback for your storefront. But in terms of activity, it doesn't really do much.

Personally, if I was in your position, I would start with stuff that basically got you off the ground/anything that filled up the catalog enough to not look empty. For example, if you went for arms I would start out with a couple guns and vehicles to get things rolling (maybe a few guns and like two vehicles). The rest you got stockpiled can be released over time when you're ready/think it's best to do so. You could always improve upon them in the meantime while you hold onto them too.

GE&T seems so slow now, is this just a natural drop in activity due to school or is GE&T dying?
