There are many punk bands across the world.
There are many bands that have a degree of fame to their name.
None, however, are like the Revenants.
For the Revenants are Allanea’s most famous band of undead musicians. They twist together aggressive lyrics, rock music and influences from a wide bevy of musical traditions, together with guitar riffs performed by fingers which had long ceased to feel pain... and some knowledge of the magical arts, that fuses their performances with swirling illusions and some of the most amazing audio-visual effects.
The band’s songs are performed by Uriah King – a punk musician from the New Thermopilae arcologies, who continued singing even after he died from a cocaine overdose in his arcology apartment – and found out that being dead was actually having a sort of positive effect on his voice, enabling him to sing with that slightly growling rasp that punk audiences often love. Alongside him are bassist Fred ‘Barrabas’ Klopfenstein – a mohrg from Lower Kalandia, keyboardist Anastas ‘Komodo’ Hersch (actually, an undying kobold rather than literally a Komodo – but you can see how he earned the name), drummer Misha ‘Krampus’ Krasnov, and the band’s only living member, Talice Quavein, who is a young Drow lady supplying the group’s contralto (which is sort of hard to supply when you’ve been dead for a decade!). She happens to also be the team’s promoter and illusionist.
The Revenants are famous for their transgressive lyrics and songs, such as the singles Burn It Down (To the Ground), Scalpel and Knife and now, their first album, Self-Exhumation.
And so, to celebrate the release of Self-Exhumation, the Revenants are going on a tour, a tour that will have only 13 – count them, 13, a veritable Devil’s Dozen – stops! And two are already booked, in Liberty-City and Port-Allanea!
