Artigas International Airport is a binational airport serving North Artigas, Argentinstan and South Artigas, Uruguistan. The airport is located on the border with entrances on either side of the border to effectively make it a binational airport.
The airport has immigration facilities for Argentinstan which gives it the designation of "international" by the Argentine FAA but as a "domestic" airport by the Uruugistan CAA. Currently, most passengers pass Argentine immigration and customs, then exit on the Uruguistan side due to the Montevideo Treaty provisions.
The airport has 3 concourses, all of which are connected by a single terminal building which also houses immigration and customs as well as check-in and airport security.
