[Note: This thread is for the Cooperative Union: Economic and Trade Summit in Travencia (The Western Isles) and is for Out of Character communication and reference]



Travencia City is hosting the Cooperative Union: Economic and Trade Summit over a 3-5 day period. The summit is open to all Cooperative Union political delegations, corporations, and industries with a stated goal of increased integration and investment in member economies with the goal of creating supply chains of imports/exports amongst union members.


Primary locations being Government Center [capital district]



The International Isle Convention Center






All Cooperative Union member states are official invited to attend, as well as corporations, companies, and industrial interests of citizens of Cooperative Union nation states. The summit itself isn't set to officially begin until noontime [EST] Friday.

Suggestions for participants. Do some homework on other members economies, at the very least imports/exports. If you don't have one, make one and make it easy to find for us. If there are significant corporations, companies, or industries in your nation elaborate on them, make some information on them and bring them to the table. It would be really awesome if everyone maybe came up with a few corporations to help give the summit some depth and flavor.

One thing I will eventually bring up, explain in much better detail, and finalize will be the Travencian Stock Exchange [also known as the TEX} which will be open for CU corporations to list and trade on a few years before it opens for the western isles region at large.

I've been keeping an eye on how Covonant has been developing his banking/financial systems which has inspired me in a way to add some depth, legs and teeth to my own. My treasury, Central Bank, and Financial industry are going to push hard for at the very least a CU wide monetary fund or investment group, and possibly as far as chartering a CU central bank, but not as far as suggesting a universal currency, or CU domination of member states internal monetary policies.


At the very least, we should establish and clarify the CU free trade agreements and attempt a consensus about third party trade agreements [aka non union members]. Ideally the plan is that we collectively come to realize we can satisfy a lot of our own import/export needs domestically, and foster links within supply chains to strengthen so. I plan to launch the IC thread tomorrow sometime, I'll link it together when I do.

And did I mention that IT and electronics industry is the main industry of AM?

Please ignore that it says AM has its own launch center on Akar and Thakali Island. We have been piggy-bagging on CASA's launch centers till date and soon to piggy-back on CU's launch center as well.

AM I really like that sea routes map, I wonder if we could expand on it. One of my intents was to try and discover what each nation might have that's a niche, or a specialty. AM might be the only nation I can think of with a video game industry. The idea is to expand on some strengths. Just some food for thought to keep in mind if there was something you think you might wanna specialize in.

Sea Route idea was given to me Mitjevalia who C'TED.

And the trade route right now is the one used by the medeival Khas-Kirat Empire (dunno if you know them).

And nah, we face heavy competition from Gudao and Atnaia whose games are in a whole different level. They make 3D games that make headlines while AM does anime-style Visual Novels and RPGs with occasional MMOs and simulations. AM being a small nation only has 4 companies who work annually to release a game + a short animation series or else they run out of business.

The TEX seeks to be the CU's premier stock exchange, and for a limited time offer is extending free registration and listing for companies and corporations in the Cooperative Union. All you need to do is list your Company's name, the city its incorporated out of, and a three letter listing tag, [like TNN for Travencia News Network, or RDS for Royal Dutch Shell].

For companies seeking to do IPO's, include whatever you plan to offer 100 or 1000 shares and expected purchase price. This service may or may not get expanded on depending on interest [viable if I get at least 20 companies].

musings at large. CU: Development Fund nest egg. Which could go nicely in tandem with the CU: Space Program. Which speaking of I've got three sorta different proposal ideas...

1: RP for the spot, which would take some dedication but could epically unfold over weeks and months. would be likely increase our visibility to others and maybe contribute to our prestige. That being said, an RP would be a massive commitment that might be kinda tricky to get enough on board and in sync....

2: Pick a series of sites, likely 3-4 depending on purpose amongst the different member states but able to be used by any and all members of the CU. Geography will be a factor, with what might make the most sense being near clusters of nations. maybe we make a site over by AM, another one maybe by URL, and a third one would be wide open.

3: continue sorta piecemeal style as a loose affiliation of members states space agencies but without any umbrella by CU initiative or directive. Basically the status quo, and probably not anyone's initial choice [unless you've got no interest in a space program].





now back to the CU: Development Fund. I had an idea that member nations could contribute to this, with the idea that member states could also tap into it when needed. It could be as tall or as wide as we want it, and kinda depends on some interest amongst all of us....
