Description of weapon and intended use:
The LAC XM16A5, commonly shortened to the X5, is a selective-fire assault rifle, famously used by the Exodian Armed Forces and has been the heart of Luna Arms Corp. design and upgrade almost since its founding. Despite its official name, this new firearm has changed quite a bit from the classic Armalite platform.
The X5 keeps the same gas-operated direct-impingement system as in the original AR-15 and M16, however, the weapon lacks a buffer tube on its stock, instead dispensing recoil and having the bolt travel through a spring tube visible under the carrying handle in a similar manner to the OA-93. The plunger tube for the forward assist has been converted into a vent for ammunition gases, making the action an open system akin to that of the AK-47, and more reliable than its predecessors. The fire selector has fully-automatic and 3-round-burst as well as semi-automatic. The small spring tube makes for shorter bolt travel and a faster cyclic rate, making the X5 into a viable squad automatic weapon just as well as a service rifle.
Additionally, the back-mounted charging handle has been moved to the right side, requiring less hand movement when chambering a round, and both the AR-15’s original magazine release button and a new magazine release paddle are featured, as well as a flared magazine well similar to rifles in competition matches- making the X5 platform have simpler, similar ergonomics to platforms like the MP5 and Kalashnikov. The lack of a stock buffer tube allows all sorts of stock attachments to be put on, although the original M16-style full carbon-fiber stock is regarded as the most comfortable and popular.
The barrel has been put on an additional 2 inches as well, and uses polygonal rifling, putting it at a longer operational range than other AR-based rifles on the market.
While it can be chambered in a variety of calibers such as most common AR-platform rounds and even a few proprietary cartridges made in other nations, it primarily uses the Exodian-designed .225 Quicksilver round. A higher powder charge and heavier materials in the bullet, the .225 shares the same stopping power and armor-piercing capability of higher-caliber rounds such as .300 Blackout, yet retains the same velocity and range as the original .223 and 5.56x45. With a heavier weight and modified action, the recoil of a heavier round is reduced.
The X5 is made from strong, advanced materials such as a steel- and titanium- based superalloy, as well as standard carbon-fiber handguards and stocks. While it may increase the product’s price, it makes for a much more reliable and durable weapon.
The X5 comes with an adjustable 2.5x- to 6.5x- zoom holographic marksman’s scope mounted above the carrying handle and in between the iron sights, and also comes with a close-quarters “kobra” holographic fighting sight mounted on the rail near the front sights. A laser sighting device comes with each rifle, mounted on the front rail. The iron sights are also tritium-illuminated.
The extended magazine of the X5 normally holds 40 rounds, although the weapon also can accept STANAG magazines and BETA-C drums. The weapon is much more versatile regarding all of its aspects: carbine versions with M4-style stocks and shortened barrels have been created and used. Nearly every aspect of the rifle is optimized and customizable; the holographic fighting sight and laser can be taken off as seen fit due to it being on rails, the standard scope and even the carrying handle can be removed and replaced. The flash hider, custom-made by the Luna Arms Corp., can also be unscrewed, with a suppressor or a recoil compensator in its place.
Overall, the rifle is just as easy to field-strip and maintain as a normal AR-15. The X5 is loved by Exodian troops, SWAT teams, and militias, and the few others around the globe who use an X5 variant in their military.
The famous M16 platform has been reborn as the Luna Arms Corp.’s XM16A5E3, and its motto of ‘shining innovation, even through struggle’ is encompassed through every step of this Exodian service rifle.
Starting price for the X5 is $2,100 NS Standard Dollars ($1,800 without tactical attachments), and is a Class I firearm.

The KP-2000 is a select-fire machine pistol designed for use with police, airborne and counter-terror units. The KP-2000 uses 10, 20, 25 or 30 round detachable box magazines, fed into the pistol grip of the weapon. The KP-2000 is designed to be as light and as small as possible without external attachments, and as such features a side-folding stock and folding foregrip. This makes it incredibly convenient in small spaces such as vehicles and aircraft, and is ideally suited for vehicle crews and close-quarters combat. It is a short-recoil, locking rotating barrel design with a rapid 900 RPM rate of fire, able to mount optics and illumination devices, as well as a suppressor via a threaded barrel.

The KP-2000 was introduced in 2002 after extensive testing, and was accepted into service by the Astronean Special Purpose Reconnaissance Group for use in clandenstine operations and close-protection details, as well as hostage situations where small compact weapons were necessary for close-quarters combat.

Since its introduction, the KP-2000 has become a common sight for armed police units, hostage rescue teams and other armed law enforcement officers. It can often be seen in the hands of armed security guards and VIP protection details during national events and diplomatic missions.

The folding stock and foregrip of the weapon also make the weapon ideally suited for concealment, easily hidden away behind a jacket. TPS produces a specially designed leather chest holster for this purpose, allowing the weapon to be holstered when folded and drawn at a moment's notice. The stock of the weapon does not interfer with the pistol grip or trigger of the weapon, allowing the weapon to be operated when the stock is fully folded, even fired single-handedly.

Design

The KP-2000 is a blowback operated, select fire weapon, which fires from a closed bolt. The machine pistol is chambered for a standard 9x19mm Parabellum ammunition. The KP-9 is smaller and more compact than the KP-14 PDW and other similar designs. However, it offers more controllable fire than comparable automatic pistols thanks to a full frame, removable folding stock and foregrip.

The KP-2000 comes with an integral folding front grip, making it more controllable during fully automatic fire. The furniture of the weapon is made from lightweight polymer materials, keeping the overall weight of the weapon under 2 kilograms.

The KP-2000 uses a trigger safety, as well as an ambidextrous safety/fire mode selector button, located behind the trigger. An ambidextrous cocking handle is located at the rear of the receiver, similar to that of the KP-14 PDW, and does not reciprocate when the weapon is fired.

Magazines are housed inside the pistol grip, and feed either 10, 20, 25 or 30 round magazines. Magazines are vertical double-stacked, keeping the length down while increasing reliability of feeding. Translucent magazines are available, though steel opaque magazines are standard.

The KP-14 is a recently developed submachine gun intended as a smaller caliber, more controllable alternative to carbines. It is currently in use with AWD, SPRG, military police units and some vehicle crews. While the Astronean Armed Forces has carbine versions of most of their full length firearms, the military was lacking a pistol caliber submachine gun. Looking at foreign designs and drawing from domestic technological advancements in firearms, TPS created the KP-14 in 2013, which was officially adopted into service a year later. It is officially designated as a personal defence weapon.

The KP-14 can be most commonly found among vehicle crews and police units. Its small caliber allows easy control of the weapon, even in fully automatic fire. The KP-14 operates with a fully closed and locked rotating bolt, improving user safety and reliability over open bolt designs. Another modern design is its short stroke gas piston, a similar version to the AMW-280, albeit scaled down. This grants the KP-14 the reliability needed to operate in adverse weather conditions without malfunction.

Being a modern weapon, the KP-14 also features a full RIS for mounting optics and sights, as well as the ability to switch between barrel lengths in the field to adapt to situations as they present themselves. This allows an operator to reach targets at longer range with a longer barrel, or operate in an urban environment with a shorter barrel. This technology was streamlined from lessons learned in developing caliber changing technologies used in the TPS R-30 and AM-96 ISW.

The KP-14 is curently marketed for export as a military and law enforcement personal defence weapon.

Design

The KP-14 integrates technologies designed for use with multi caliber weapons systems of the AM-96 ISW and TPS R-30 in its use of quick change barrels. By gripping the muzzle of the weapon and twisting to a 45 degree angle whilst simultaneously pressing the barrel-release catch located on the receiver of the weapon, the free-floating barrel will detach from the receiver and can be replaced by a different length. To insert a new barrel, the user feeds the new barrel through the handguard and connects to the receiver of the weapon. Twisting counter-clock wise 45 degrees will holding down the barrel-release catch down will fit the barrel in place, after which the user lets go of the barrel and can proceed to fire.

The standard KP-14 PDW configuration comes with a rear and front fixed sight that is attached to the integrated rail system on the top of the weapon.

The KP-14 uses a gas short stroke piston system in order to increase the accuracy of the weapon which operates in closed bolt. It is designed in this way to prevent water or dirt from entering the chamber and causing malfunctions as well as to use a suppressor with greater ease. It features an ambidextrous selector switch for fully automatic (law enforcement/military models) and semi-automatic. It also features an ambidextrous bolt catch. The barrel is free-floating and is surrounded by Polymer/Steel Rail mounts.

The charging handle of the weapon is located at the back of the weapon. This is to ensure that cocking the weapon does not interfere with any optics mounted onto the Picatinny rail. The weapon's rails are made out of cast steel and the standard weapon overall weighs 2.1 kg.
