Overview

Honolulu Oahu International Airport is one Pacifica's largest airports, trailing behind Hong Kong. It is close to the city of Honolulu and the island of Oahu, connected to the shore with a road. What is now known as Terminal 1, was Honolulu International Airport. The original being built in 1927, and throughout the years has started to be overwhelmed by the fast international growth of the nation and its population. In 2006, Terminal 2, a artificial island, an offshoot of the original airport was built. It is the largest airport of its type in the Pacific, with 3 terminals. Terminal 1 is used for regional and LCC flights, while Terminal 2 is used for larger long range carriers, like the nation's flag carrier, Pacifican Airways. A cargo terminal is tucked in with Terminal 2.

History

Terminal 1 was built in 1927 as John Rodgers Field, serving the local area. It was the first complete airport in Hawaii, an achievement ahead of its time. Later, during WW2, civilian flights were grounded and it was renamed Air Station Honolulu, where only military flights would land. In 1947, it was renamed to Honolulu Airport, in 1951, "International" was added to its name. Even during the communist days of late 1948-1971, the airport would still be used and was classified as a "capitalist trade zone". the airport would gain fame as a international stopover point, connecting North America to Asia. In 1971, after a violent revolution against the communists, the airport had started to show its age. It was restored in 1974-1978, restoring it as a international hub. In 1999, the airport could no longer handle the large flow of tourists, refugees and passengers coming into the nation, and so a new part was built, naming it terminal 2, opening in 2006. The airport was later renamed Honolulu Oahu International Airport. Now, the airport is a shining pinnacle of Pacifican engineering.

Security

As with almost every airport on Earth, security is a top priority. Our security protects your nation, our nation and the airport. Chances of a successful attack on HNL are slim, but precautions must be taken.

All travelers must be screened before entry.

All luggage will be scanned.

Random inspection of items will take place.

All unpackaged food or drinks are not allowed.

Weapons will be confiscated. (With the exception of multitools)

All luggage must be left attended.

Transport

A shuttle bus

For transport within the airport, shuttle buses are available for transport between terminals. Outside of the airport, shuttle buses, limos and taxis provide excellent service in and out. The Honolulu Mass Rail is another way to get around town. Car rentals are available around the airport.
