99 Kirovballons

Postby Rebanded Nations » Fri Sep 30, 2016 1:18 pm

Greetings from the Republic of the Banded Nations!

Thanks to our recent and glorious independence after such a long and dark time, we are glad to announce the reestablishment of our nation's once great market. High on the list of priorities is clear: to redevelop and strengthen our nation's military, and our Hawk Air Force!

Richard Price V is excited to reveal the recovery of blueprints and salvaged parts of one of the proudest achivements from an ally from our past: The Kirov.

The Kirov Airship that was revered and feared in engagements such as Blazing War and The Britannian Invasion of Gibet, among several others.

As our factories and refineries are being restarted and restructured, only 4 standard Kirovs are currently in operation, and one King Kirov, which is twice the size of the original. And because of this the RBN asks for outsider help.

Primarily, the RBN asks for temporary funding to assist us in relaunching our Kirov program. The time frame and monetary amount does not need to be extravagant, as we simply wish to have adequate air defense in these trying times. In exchange we will promise to share the blueprint of our feared airship, or a steady of supply of completed Kirovs to your nation. In addition, a mutual defense pact can be offered if necessary.

The Rebanded Nations hopes to have complete 30 Kirov Airships in a 6 month timeframe, and with any assistance this can be completed in an even quicker manner.

Thank you, and may our nations prosper.

TO: Airship authority, Banded Nations
FROM: Phineas Fogg, Minister of Transportation
SUBJ: Kirov

Our nation makes heavy use of airships and we are intrigued. Before we proceed with assistance, we require information:

How much funding do you require?

How many airships do we get in exchange for a given amount of funding?

What are the specifications of the Kirov?
  • Size?
  • Capacity?
  • Range?
  • Cruising altitude?
  • Maximum altitude, if different?
  • Cruising speed?
  • Maximum speed, if different?
  • Armament, if any?
  • What gas is used for buoyancy?
  • What is the gas envelope composed of? How resistant is it to damage?
  • What systems are in place in the event of envelope breach (i.e. compartmentalization, self-sealing systems, et cetera)?
  • Does the craft accommodate smaller vehicles such as air-launched planes?
  • Does the craft require special accommodations for takeoff and landing?

TO: Minister of Transportation

Much of this information is most definitely included in the blueprints. What we can disclose publicly is this:

The Kirov will naturally be equipped with various different armaments as it is military class airship. While some have been converted/retired for civilian uses in the past, they were mostly outclassed by helicopters in that regard. There has been five version of the Kirovs manufactured in the past:

Standard Kirov
King Kirov
Guardian Kirov
Bear Kirov
Monarch Kirov

Each version increases in size. The Standard size airships were mainly used in CAS/Rescue situations, while the larger version were used mainly for the seige of cities. Enemies of the BN were heavily demoralized as the Kirovs wrecked havoc over their settlements for days at a time before needing to refuel. When it was time to refuel/rearm, large flat fields or even rooftops were utilized as landing and takeoff zones. Chaff and SAM positions were installed in the latest version for defense.

Any amount of funding that can be expended would be appreciated. These ships have been historically expensive to manufacturer, but with technology of recent times the cost to produce and maintain them has been halted. In exchange for any amount of funding, we can promise an agreement of a steady supply of Kirovs yearly. We currently estimate that 30 Kirovs can be supplied this year, with this amount doubling next year.

We are excited by your intrigue, and hope the small amount of information supplied was adequate.
Signed by,
RBN Leader of Trade.
RBN Leader of Defense.
RBN Leader of Aircraft
RBN Kirov Project Head.
And acting president, Richard Price V.
