The RPAF is preparing to retire some of its older Mig-29 fighters, and is replacing them with upgraded Mig-29 fighters, to act as aggressor aircraft for training purposes. Rather than risk the fighters that are being retired falling into the wrong hands, the RPAF has decided to auction off the planes to countries that will give them a good home. Along with the fighters, the winner will receive two years of training for their pilots, and ten year "D" check provided by a private contractor in Pananau.
