OOC: Useful factoid for this RP: The principal manufacturer for the space craft is Allanean Arms. Allanean Defense Exports is an industry lobbying and marketing group that promotes the foreign sale of Allanean defense and dual-use products in general, from guns to trucks to military underpants.

IC:Julia System

Few people live to have something named after them when they’re still alive. When you consider how many people have a whole planet named after them, the number grows still smaller. Julia Nivensky van-Ghent is one of these people. Planet Julia has been named after her when Allanean Arms took possession of its planetary system as debt payment from a customer civilization.

Since then, a lot had changed on Julia. On the surface, most elements of the original civilization’s architecture – entire cities that had once housed millions – had been stripped away years ago, converted by Allanean Arms back into the metals of the building frame, the glass of its windows, the concrete of its walls. Company employees who lived on the surface lived here either in Allanean-style family homes, or in corporate dorms. They worked – in vast shipyards in orbit, or even in orbit of the system’s gas giants.

Even now the vast order made by the Empire of the Lemons was being filled. Orbital docks were filled with dozens of long hulls, where the frames of Númerrámar craft were fashioned together, section by section. An infra-red scanner would reveal vast smelting furnaces in orbit of the system’s gas giant, the metal within them fuming and boiling as it was fashioned into hull plating for the ships. System tugs darted to and fro, pushing starship components from one orbit to another. And in some places, one could see construction crews, human and robotic, working to build more docks, to fill out the industry need for more and more ships.

On the ground, in the Northern parts of the planet, a palatial structure stood. Gleaming armor-glass, hundreds and hundreds of yards tall – something in between the aesthetic of a cathedral and a corporate skyscraper, surrounded by an extensive park. In the park, fountains in the elaborate rococo style brought forth sparkling-white water. Statues – some brass, some crystal, some marble – stood among the park paths.

It would be here that the Gaians would be requested to land their shuttle.

[Gaian Ascendancy]

- 4.6 Days later (2.1 Weeks to the Gaians...) Planet Julia High Orbit -

A Pair of brilliant points of light, sharply denote the Gaian's arrival, such they expand into two elongated sets of lines, that then 'expand' off the Second Dimensional Layer of Hikari Subspace, into gleaming formal sight. (Consequences of Ages of celestial-ascension exposure. It's a thang.) Such further denotes arrival of the GSS Valkyrie Claw, and The Nergal Personal Yacht shuttle, both shimmering oddly to lay sight alone. The latter vessel launches off moments after anchoring in Three Dimensional space, it's comm tech aboard offering a holo-vid of an akin being, humanoid, feminine, made of apparent pure organic glass, dressed in a MWCG Gaian uniform slim-suit of white/blue with glowing blue-green-white electrolining.

"- This is Nergal Personal Yacht 'Profit', requesting approach vector. Awaiting response. -"

Meanwhile, a raven haired spunk lass that led one of the most replete corporations in Gaian space, just eyed her auburn maned husband of 'playboy' affinity. "You really didn't have to come. The Dimensional crossing isn't still perfected."

"What, and let you have all the fun usually reserved for the Diplomatic Sector? I need to get my feet wet again." ...as he sipped at a glowing concoction that was essentially apple juice. (Wine wasn't a good idea at the moment. Alcohol did weird things to Gaian mindsets outside their Expansion territory, as of proven current. Washu was 'too' dang prudent of warning that. (Before plying such vice herself. Oyah.)) "Besides, I like dealing with matters personally."

"You like meddling Akatski." ...Erina snipped back. Nagare just raspberried back, to a roll of the eyes back in turn. Erina then looks out as their planet of arrival loomed into view. "As long as it's a quiet trip. Don't need 'outside' trouble as it is."

Nagare just eyed over, leaning back in an opulent chair of white, the halo of the interior precedent despite even interior lighting suffused. "Is it true then, the news."

Erina belayed a hand. "The Excellency expressed abstain on what I was told. The Denationalization fields are still receding as they re anyway. I don't have any true news to give."

"Then 'why' are we here? Procurement of new vessel types denotes something, my dear wife."

The smirk Erina gave back, told Nagare enough. Semantics of further politics he knew better than press upon. The last such he attempted upon her, begetted him a NARLY looking full nelson pile-driver. Ahh, such the travails of married life for a Gaian.

The shuttle continued on, as it's Valkyrium escort vessel, kept hawkish watch.

Julia Nivensky-van Ghent herself came out of the palatial structure to meet her guests. A while ago, she was helping her husband to negotiate the purchase of Vingilots – vessels much like the Numerramar, but based on Menelmacari technology, arguably a lot more advanced and restricted than what the Allaneans were using in their own exports – for the use of the Nivensky-Ringworld Foundation. Today, the Foundation was gone, its properties and ships incorporated into the Ministry of Colonial Affairs – and Allanean Arms was free to sell its own vessel without even the appearance of a conflict of interest. The fact that Allanean civilization – indeed, her own company - was now considered by the Gaians as a source of major industrial exports – made Julia somewhat proud, even though she was not very much an Allanean patriot. She was dressed in long, elegant robes of the very kind that her friend, Curulambiel, would find fashionable, of a subdued soft orange color.

Mikhail Kovalev, on the other hand, was not merely ‘somewhat’ proud. As Allanean Arms’ Foreign Sales Executive, he had just concluded a historically successful deal with the Lemonians – and was now about to negotiate – he hoped, at least – a trade deal with the Gaian Ascendancy. As a patriot – and unlike Julia, he felt strongly about being a patriot, as one has to be if one’s job is to sell his county’s lethal weapons across the world – it represented to him a great success for Allanea as a whole. Its ships would now be the instruments of trade across multiple galaxies. Money, knowledge, weaponry, artefacts, would flow in, and the vessels forged in Allanean Arms’ forges would flow out – and it was he, Mikhail Kovalev, personally, that would be responsible for signing the deals to make it happen. His hand would sign the paper that would set things in motion. He had prepared a pen – a gold-plated pen, ordered hand-made from an elf jeweler, now placed in his dark-blue suit’s inner pocket – just for this historic moment.

The Gaians landed without so much as a hiccup to the landing struts. Such the walkway gantry lowered and two Valkyrium guards exited first, white and blue combat jumpsuits flowing their coat tail capes about, as their charges exited, Erina taking the lead, Nagare a step behind, behind them, a third Valkyrium of short, slick deep blue hair, keeping breathing distance to her very seriously defended charges, her Axes set in earring format 'diamonds', ever on needed call.

The Nergal representatives dressed in business suit versions of uniform slim-suit attire, their electrolining set at the hemmed ends of their attire, Erina in a skirt and suit, Nagare in a standard version affair.

As per ages of ingrained tact, they let the hosts greet first. All seemed well on this part so far.
